I just finished the jeans to go with my Pooh outfit. I love how all of this came together. Very subtle and feminine. I am now officially done sewing for out trip! Only have to suffer through today and tomorrow at home!

I love how you say "I am now officially done sewing for our trip." Are we ever really done? After one trip is over I am back here dreaming about customs for the next one! And don't forget Easter!

Thanks ladies. I tried the surger on a scrap piece of fabric and I am slowly figuring it out. The manual is a bit confusing though. I was looking into taking lessons but the problems was there are no adult classes available in my city, or atleast none that I have had the fortune to find. I will still be looking though.

I am having a hard time finding fabric to use. I think that we still have winter stock available here and spring style fabric is what I am looking for. I have also had no luck finding the "minnie mouse" style fabric, you know the red fabric with white dots. So I ordered some from voldemort (hehe I think that is so funny)

I am in Canada and it seems as though wal-mart fabric deptartment has the best selection of Disney fabrics the other store have nothing. Actually they have very little childrens fabics that are not fleece, again this could just be the winter stock i guess, who knows lol!

I will continue to look on line.

As for my camo material it was 7.96/metre at walmart.

I need to make a shirt for the orange and white skirt. I was a little worried that the orage would be a little to "halloweenish" but I bout it for my neice a while back to make her something with it and I never did until this weekend and she picked out the material so I hope she likes it. She is comming with us on our trip comming up. Even thogh she is ten I was concerned that since I am make DD8 disney outfits that she may feel left out if I did not make her something so I decided to. I hope she likes it! but I am not sure what to do for a shirt any ideas? Should I do the applique Mickey head?

How cute is she?!! She reminds me of my DD when she was a baby. She was always into something. Everyday she would empty her toybox and play with every toy in the box and every naptime and bedtime I would fill the box back up just to have it emptied the next time she was awake.

th_jennaandhermess.jpg

Sorry this is so blurry. It is a scanned picture, but it is DD and her mess.
How cute is that!? You wouldn't think such a little thing could make such a big messs!

Heather - We know you're just trying to get your post count up!

You're on to me Leslie! ;) Actually, I'm getting pretty frustrated. Every time I tried to reply, I'd get a quote from Stephres that I commented on a while back and none of the other quotes would be in there! I finally had to log out, clear my cookies, and restart the computer. It looks like it's working again, but we'll see.

I love the fabric! I am having a hard time finding nice fabric right now. That is a really cute outfit!

Yay I managed some sewing today.

An altered version of a pillowcase dress - A :hippie: retro inspired style where I was trying out one of my late night thinkings lol :) . Seemed to work ok so I can put a tick on it for when my disney fabric arrives. Might even make myself one

Do you think it needs a ruffle or a pleated hem?? or just a normal hem?

Monster Inc - Sully Tutu for a friends DD (modelled by my firey beauty :) )

th_sewing024.jpg
I love that dress! I think I would go with a plain hem. The tutu is cute! I made some of those for my girls and Tessa awhile back!
This thread just barely started and I am already behind!

Hi everyone! My name is Shanna.

I have been lurking in the other for quite some time, trying to catch up. But, that was impossible :) Maybe now I stand a chance :) So, bad news you were moved, good news I feel like I can jump in now.

You all inspired me to get my sewing machine fixed. Making my daughter clothes for DW is my new obsession.

We are planning our first trip to DW in April. I am just beside myself excited.

:welcome: Shanna!! I hope I by the time I get caught up that I will that you posted pictures!
Should I put elastic in it with a simple casing but I'm afraid of the look of that. Or should I use elastic thread since the fabric itself is so stretchy? Thanks in advance for your help!
I would use the casing. I don't think elastic thread would hold the skirt up very well. Are you talking about shirrig? (haven't caught up from last night, so sorry if this has allready been answered!)

This calls for some pictures!:rotfl:
She's 10 months old in these pictures:

She's getting ready to try to climb the stairs for the 100th time that day in the last picture.
There are so many more where these came from, but you get the idea of how busy she was, and at a young age!!

I know who that little cutie pie is!!! The one of her in the cupboard still makes me laugh!

I smell another "rule" coming-
Everyone Post pictures of your first sewing attempts- Whatever they are!!
Ok seriously- I haven't even caught up from saturday and you all were chatty again today-

Heather- I noticed you have a new siggy- I just about died laughing at your disney hating husband comment- and what cute doggy icons- looking forward to your pictures- maybe they are already there- I better get back t o reading!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE all the world pictures!! I don't have any crocs yet either :scared1: Didn't know I was missing that much!!

Hmmm, I don't know that I have a picture of my first attempt! It was a pair of seersucker shorts. Very comfy!

I can't see the bottom of Heather's siggy! It cuts off about halfway up Nemo! It must be my screen size. Can everyone else see the whole thing?

I am here too, I have to catch up though. DD 6 came down with MRSA and had been on antibiiotics for 2 wks. Then my mother who lives with us ended up in the hospital because she was in pain and we didn't know why, turns out my 77 yr old diabetic mom had an open wound on her leg and never said anything and now she is in the hospital with a wound vac on and will likely need one more surgery, she too has MRSA we think she had it first and let it go. A word of caution to you all if you have a mark on you that you THINK is a spider bite, or a boil, GO TO THE DR get it checked. I hope the rest of you are doing well. Good to have a new home I guess.

I love that! Somewhere around here, I have a picture of Lydia after she dumped every video off the shelf for the 5th time that day!

OMG It's Sawyer!!!!!! I swear those two look exactly alike, or is it just me?
They do look very similar! But, also different! I don't think anyone would doubt they are brother and sister!

Oh my! My favorite is the one where she is ripping the tissues out of the box. She looks so serious, like it's her job to get into trouble so she is doing it! Yes, she does look like Sawyer!
We have a picture of Heather at about that age, and she has dumped every straw out of a big box, I think we also have one where she dumped most everything out of the cupboard! All with what my Mom and I call, "The stinker twinkle" in her eyes! I don't know WHERE Heather's kids could have gotten this behavior from!
Can we make it a competition, just for today? I'd love to be #1 just once!!!!!
You were first last night when I checked! Funny, because I never check! I should have taken a picture to show you!!!:rotfl:

Wasn't sure if I posted this here or not. I made dd7 a Cinderella cleaning dress to wear to CRT (that's what she wanted!) and dd8 a Jasmine custom.
th_crt4.jpg
I don't think you posted this before! I love it! Your daughter's look so excited!
And, I lost the picture, but I do love the way Emma's pants run right into Minnie's dress! Who knew Disney got their fabric from Walmart? :confused3

Here's a little better picture of the cleaning dress.
th_pptigger.jpg
I love that! Does she have the Alice Crocs?
Here is dd2's Little Einstein outfit, also dd8 in front of her showing off her Dream FP that we got at MGM.
th_mgmdreamfp.jpg
I have most of those fabrics in the Little Einstein outfit! Lydia wants me to make her a CLOWN outfit [[[[[[[[[shudder]]]]]]]]]] I'm asceared of clowns!!

And our AK picture.
th_ak.jpg
I still really love those outfits!!
One last shameless post to put me at the top

WOO HOO!! You saw it!!

Heather- I noticed you have a new siggy- I just about died laughing at your disney hating husband comment- and what cute doggy icons- looking forward to your pictures
You've all seen my first attempt- the pants I sewed for Corey when he was a baby that finally fit him now....15 years later.

Thank you for noticing my new siggy and my Disney-hating husband!! I haven't got a picture of Pierre on my computer yet. It's not too hard to get a picture of him, he doesn't move!:rotfl:

I love the camo set...and what a wonderful dh! I don't have one, but everyone that I know who has one loves theirs.!
:rotfl: I read this several times before I figured out you were saying! I thought you were saying that you don't have a DH, but everyone you now who has one loves theirs! :rotfl:

Cool! I remember watching the video on MTV! Remember when MTV played videos?
What is this MTV you speak of? Teresa and I had to stay up late on Friday nights and watch Friday Night Videos. :happytv: We didn't have cable. Teresa still doesn't!

How cute is she! Yes, it looks like you have your hands full! But how can you help but love that sweet, little mischievous face!
I've often said she's lucky she's so cute!

OMG It's Sawyer!!!!!! I swear those two look exactly alike, or is it just me?
They do look quite a bit alike, don't they!

Oh my! My favorite is the one where she is ripping the tissues out of the box. She looks so serious, like it's her job to get into trouble so she is doing it! Yes, she does look like Sawyer!

Imagine my very best little girl whiny voice, "Heather, the post count is not a competition!" That's what Megan says every time Jacob is racing her to get to the car or something. She screams, "It is not a competition!"

I do think she believed it was her job to get in trouble. She certainly was good at it!

It's not a competition?! Isn't that what the loser always says! :confused3
I feel "snooty" coming on....

Well, I'm going to admit I'm scared of zippers AND buttonholes... there I said it, I feel so much better!
Yes, but how do you feel about cotton balls?

Woo-hoo!!! Teresa will NOT let that happen again, I'm sure! :rotfl:

How original!! That turned out really cute!

Wow seeing the post count makes me realize we're missing alot of members from the old thread!
I just got a PM from fortheluvofpooh. She was lost, so I pointed her to our home.

Adorable!!!!

I need to make a shirt for the orange and white skirt. I thought the orange skirt looked Belle-ish! I love it! A Mickey head shirt would be really cute!

I can see it, does it cut off for anyone else?

Ok Saturday night I was looking at vintage patterns online, and I found the cutest reversible, wraparound, jumper dress. The person selling it only had one copy of the pattern and it was a size 12. Way too big for DD. So I thought about it and decided that it was too simple to buy a pattern for and decided to just make it up myself. So here is what I was doing from 12:00 am Sunday until 3:00 am Sunday.

This is the bottom back of the dress. Those little triangles were a pain in the nose to do..
Cute, way to improvise!

I wish they would bring back the old thread soon so we could at least see who is missing!

:welcome: to the new thread!
I'm so sorry to hear that your mom is in the hospital!! How is your DD doing now?

I love that! Somewhere around here, I have a picture of Lydia after she dumped every video off the shelf for the 5th time that day!

All with what my Mom and I call, "The stinker twinkle" in her eyes! I don't know WHERE Heather's kids could have gotten this behavior from!

Mom has/had a picture of Tessa amid a sea of straws, too. I wish I would have gotten it from her. It might have gotten erased by now, knowing dad.

Heather, thanks for asking about dd, she is doing much better now. It is just very scary.

Can we put Kids boutique clothes back in the title of the thread? Maybe it won't be so confusing to some if the old title is in the new one?

so....the old threads are NOT coming back?

I just want to THANK TeresaJoy(ce) for cataloging them for us....on page one.

OH NO! Is there still a page one catalog?
edited to add: WHEW!!!!! I freaked out for a second! ((blush))

Here is Pierre!! So far he's a pretty easy dog. I don't think he's gotten off the couch, except to go outside! The poor thing, we are his 5th home in 7 years. He lived at the breeder's house until he was 1 1/2 (but she couldn't use him for breeding). Then, he went to another person, who gave him to her MIL because she didn't realize how much responsibility a dog is. The MIL gave him to the woman we got him from because she was moving to Florida (and why didn't she take him with her? :confused3). The girl we got him from is moving to Canada and said it's too expensive to take him over the border and she didn't want him to go through quarantine. But, she's taking her two cats. :confused3 Anyway, we're glad to have him. He seems like a little sweetheart. As you can probably see from the picture, he and Josie aren't too sure of each other yet. I was mean and made them sit next to each other for the picture.
