I sew on my dining table too, but do all of the cutting and ironing on the island in the kitchen. I always have thread trailing around on the tile floor. LOL

Me too! It gets stuck to the bottom of my feet and I drag it all over the house. I was on the front porch the other day and noticed that there is thread of all colors stuck in the bristles of the doormat. That's pretty bad...

I just had to post pictures of these. They are actually beads that I bought years ago, and never used. Aren't they adorable. I have 4 Minnie girls, 2 blue and white sailor girls and snow white and the evil queen.

I took the picture next to the barette to show how small they are.
I just saw that my one little blonde girl is missing part of the Minnie head on her shirt....boo hoo.

Your boys are adorable...and the captain hook costume looks great!

I love the Buzz Lightyear outfit..I have only made one skirt for my dd so far, so I think a skirt like that should be added on my to-do list! The set for your ds is really cute.

Here is the shirt I made for them to wear at Ohana's

Love this! I might CASE you..and make something like that for my dd for our dinner at Ohana, and a button down shirt for ds.

Very cute outfit. I really like the Pooh Bear jumper...

They look great! My Little Pony show never made it to Houston otherwise, I am sure dd would have wanted to go.

I spent the weekend working on some sewing that I just wanted to get done. I made my 5 y/o DS a cars outfit (because he loves the cars characters), & I made my DD a dress & me a top. I want to do so much more!

I haven't put the buttons on the shirt yet, but I am looking for just the right ones.

Love the shirt, and the matching pants...and the tink outfit is just adorable!

WOW..I love this!!!! I love Dr. Seuss!

Ireland is feeling better! She woke up around midnight, crying that her ear hurt her again, I quickly gave her some tylenol with codeine, and she fell back asleep. Around 2 am, I heard the whine at my door...Mommmmyyyyy can I sleep with yooooouuuuu? Of course I had to let her. Needless to say, I didn't get up until around 8 am :scared1:
I did manage to get Wendy done this morning, and am assembling the outfit today. After I do the laundry, clean out my sewing cabinet, do the morning dishes, fix lunch, take a shower, rearrange my bedroom (which is what I'm doing right now) and a million other things. Oh yeah, I see that my little trouble maker, (Alexis) decided to write on my Disney cruise bank...with a marker... so she's sitting in the corner looking pathetic at the moment...
This is my day so far...how's everyone elses?

Glad to hear that Ireland is feeling better.

What a deal and can't wait ot see what you make out of them!

Where is the best place to buy Disney fabric online for reasonable prices? I spent a couple of weeks looking for decent Disney fabric with a friend, and we were not able to find a huge selection at the local Joann's, Hancock's or Wal-Mart. In particular, we were looking for the large Minnie dot fabric. Finally found some on Ebay, and it will work, but it feels a little thin, like it may not be that great of quality.

I am a little behind on catching up...but wanted to share my latest project. Nothing special, nothing to ooooh or aaaah about but hey, my dd loves it!

Dd saw the Hello Kitty fabric and wanted me to make her something for Rodeo Round up day at her pre-school. I didn't have much time, so it had to be something simple, and a pattern that I am somewhat familiar with....and dd requested for it to have a big ruffle at the bottom. This morning, she told me that I should make her another one but longer so it can be a dress. I thought it would be warm here today, so I made it short sleeve. It turn out to be on the chilly side, so she wore a long sleeve shirt underneath it. The outfit isn't very western looking.

Here are couple pictures of dd...sorry about the funny poses..

I LIKE the funny poses! Very cute! I let my daughter wear her sundresses all year round with long-sleeve shirts and pants under them. :upsidedow

Oh, I am being CASED!!! LOL! I am flattered!

Love your DD in her hello kitty shirt!

Eediebeedie, welcome!!!! Love your outfits, too!:wave2:

Castlecreations, those beads are too cute! You need to make a bow with those in the middle.

I know what you mean! If my husband did not clean house, our laundry and clutter would pile up too. Yes, you heard that right... my husband cleans the house and lets me sew away. :goodvibes He is supposed to be building me a sewing center soon, because he is tired of having to eat at the kitchen countertop... I do all my sewing on the dining room table.

I do my sewing on the dining room table as well..I think I am going to re-claim the kids play room as my sewing one day once they are older (but then I have a feeling, they (and dh,too) will want it as a media room - tv, video games, etc).

Thought you might be interested to see some other non-Disney outfits that I have made, now that I can post pictures...

Good morning all I am dropping in to update all of you on Emmy's Ortho visit yesterday. Well the good news is as of right now she doesn't need surgery. It lookes like being in the cast will help make it heal in the right position. Unless it heals wrong she should be fine. Thank you for letting me share with all of you I was getting so worried. I havn't slept well since she fell. And it means so much that I have all of you for support no matter how far away I am for all of you. :grouphug: to you all. Now if miss pink chicken wing ( you have to see it to laugh at it) corperates later I will take a pic and post it. I do want to find some soft princess flannel to wrap around the cask by her armpit to keep it from rubbing her side and armpit.

I would like to say I love all the outfits from the last few day I haven't had the time to comment on all everythim I start a multi quote something happens. I have already had to walf away from this post twice

I am so glad that she doesn't need surgery...sending her lots of well wishes for a speedy recovery!

I think I might want to try making felt play food. It looks so cool. I discovered it on craftser. It just looks so cute.

It's 11:45 pm ......... I'm baking cupcakes!!!! It's my daughters 9th birthday tomorrow and she wants to take cupcakes to share with her friends. I didn't get off work until 9:30 pm and realized that I needed to go to the store to get everything. Oh, and I'm trying to finish up her outfit for tomorrow. I made her a tink peasant top and some decoupage jeans. She likes it. Dunno if I did the jeans right. I think next time I'll put some heat n bond lite on them so that I don't have the bubbly puckers that I seemed to have without it. Oh well, live and learn! I just need to put the ruffle on the shirt and it's done! I'll post pics tomorrow. :)
Ugh! I feel your pain here. We can only bring store-bought cupcakes at our school. :guilty: Which are yucky.

OK, as promised - pics of the star wars cake and the apron dress pattern!

The cake:

I showed my almost 19 year old this and now I have to make one! What is the "mountain"? I can't wait to try it. Luckily it'll be for my 2 "May" boys in one party.

Here is the first of many outfits to come. We are going to Disney in April, and after seeing all of your beautiful clothes, I wanted my daughter to have something special to wear everyday, so I am sewing like a crazy person. This is the only one I have taken pictures of so far, but I'll post others next week sometime. Edie thinks she looks so pretty in it...

Speechless! I love the whole look of these artsy photos! Puts my living room's picture-taking-spot- to shame. Your sewing is fabulous and your dd is adorable! I'll have to window shop in your boutique.

Cute fabric! I'm in the capris mood too. Georgia is really beautiful!

Teresa Joy- Ooops, I did quote you...or at least I thought I did. I love that their all jazzed about the Ponies! Cute outfits too! I want Norah to be In to them and Littlest PetShop.

you know its the season! haha I have tons of non disney fabric to make simple little school outfits for Georgia. Which totally saves me time and money. and she LOVES IT! We do not have major clothing stores around here so the time it takes me to whip up some capris is less then it would to get in the car and half way to the store. That fabric was some I got from the $1 rack at Wally world a few years back too.

One of the moms at school asked me if I got those here in town. we have little boutique stores. They had a similar pair not as bold of fabric for $40! I was in shock.

That outfit is too cute and so are all of the others that you have made.

I love the idea of naming your child for a culture. Anastasia , Josephine and Nicholas are all Royal Monarch names from Russia. are we russian - noooo. But I as a child was very much into cultures around the world. I traveled a bit and lived in sydney for a few years and almost went for the sydney route. But having children with royal names and given them grand names has always been a must for me! well when they were born you should have heard people -"is that from the movie?" - "such a long name for a little baby!" - and my mothers quote - " That is stupid why would you name a child something like that!" Wow that pushed me over the edge! People are always telling us all what to name our kids. Believe me If I could change my name from Lori to something grand and spectacular I would.
wait did I jsut ramble! sorry...
Lori

I always knew if we had a girl I would name her "Scout" from To Kill a Mockingbird...it's my favorite movie , and book and character ever. Well that and Scarlett. Then along comes Scout Willis, and Scarlett Johansen, and I didn't want my daughter to be thought of as being named after a movie star. PLUS my family went nuts that my daughter was the first girl in the family in 27 years, and we were going to name her Scout. So DH and I went through the entire name book seperately. We each wrote down about 20 names that we each liked. Only 2 that matched..Audrey and Grace. So now my daughter is...yep basically associated with 2 movie stars. Can't win:) Although I will say, we were not sure that those would really be her names until day 2. We are terrible with naming our children,.

Wow..me...really? That's really sweet of you! I haven't been sewing that long, but I just LOVE it. They girls have closets full of customs and they hardly ever wear them, unless we go to Disney...LOL. I just love to sew and sew and sew...:rotfl: sadly...I have a pile of laundry that never seems to go away, and for the past day, the vaccum lived in the living room...;) gosh I'm even embarassed to admit that. Well at least is a cute vaccum...it's yellow and black...hey that inspires me to make something else...bumble bee outfit maybe...?
Seriously though, your dress and little pants are adorable and I love how you did the top of the dress. Very unique. I also love all of the little Mickey heads...I can't wait to see more..:)

Oh honey throw a mop on that baby for hair, and slap a custom on it, and wallah......a dress form !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are fabulous! I really like the dark haired ones. It always seems that those types of things have little girls with blonde hair. I obviously have a dark haired daughter. I also adore Snow White!!
