Good morning all I am dropping in to update all of you on Emmy's Ortho visit yesterday. Well the good news is as of right now she doesn't need surgery. It lookes like being in the cast will help make it heal in the right position. Unless it heals wrong she should be fine. Thank you for letting me share with all of you I was getting so worried. I havn't slept well since she fell. And it means so much that I have all of you for support no matter how far away I am for all of you. :grouphug: to you all. Now if miss pink chicken wing ( you have to see it to laugh at it) corperates later I will take a pic and post it. I do want to find some soft princess flannel to wrap around the cask by her armpit to keep it from rubbing her side and armpit.

I would like to say I love all the outfits from the last few day I haven't had the time to comment on all everythim I start a multi quote something happens. I have already had to walf away from this post twice
Congrats on the good news from the Ortho.

CASTLE- LOVE those beads! They are soooo cute!

I always knew if we had a girl I would name her "Scout" from To Kill a Mockingbird...it's my favorite movie , and book and character ever. Well that and Scarlett. Then along comes Scout Willis, and Scarlett Johansen, and I didn't want my daughter to be thought of as being named after a movie star. PLUS my family went nuts that my daughter was the first girl in the family in 27 years, and we were going to name her Scout. So DH and I went through the entire name book seperately. We each wrote down about 20 names that we each liked. Only 2 that matched..Audrey and Grace. So now my daughter is...yep basically associated with 2 movie stars. Can't win:) Although I will say, we were not sure that those would really be her names until day 2. We are terrible with naming our children,.

Oh honey throw a mop on that baby for hair, and slap a custom on it, and wallah......a dress form !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These posts made me laugh!:lmao:
My children are both named after people that we love... My daughter, Edie Charlene, is named after her great-great-grandmother (Edie) and her great-grandmother (Charlene). I had always wanted to name my daughter Edie, but then when I was pregnant with her Desperate Housewives got really big and I was afraid people would think I named her after the bad girl on that show. I almost changed my mind on her name, but now I'm glad I didn't. My son, Nathanael Edward is named from the bible (Nathanael) and my husband's grandfather (Edward). We are all about tradition in our family!

Glad to hear Ireland is feeling better. Off topic, but how did you come up with the name Ireland? I think it is such a pretty name.

QUOTE]

When I was pregnant, I was searching for an Irish girls name...it was difficult, because the way the names are spelled, aren't the way they are pronounced...I was plagued with this my entire life. My name is Elisa, but it is pronounced Ah-lisa. not Eliza, Alyssa, Elsie..and all of the other variations that I've had to endure...anyway, I was watching the baby story, and the little girl in the show's name was Ireland, and I thought, How perfect! and that was it. So far in her life she's met 2 other little girls named Ireland. One at Epcot, and one at the grocery store...I hear it's beginning to become a popular name...egads..I hope not.
But the downfall of naming your child a "place" name, is that it's kind of tacky to do it twice, so my dreams of naming my second daughter Syndey, fell by the wayside. Everyone poo-poohed the idea, and I said, FINE!! :headache: I'll just pick anything out of the "A" section of the baby name book, and low and behold. Alexis was born... I regret it now, and should have stuck to my guns, but it's too late, and she insists on being called Alexa, not Alexis, which is totally uncool...LOL

my college roommates husband already had three girls when she met him...their names were:

Irish, Europe, and America...

yeah...not so much.

Ireland and Sydney would have been fine...but Alexis is lovely too!!!

Irish names are TOUGH...I have family members with names like Cliodhna-(Clee-uh-na) Aoibheann (Eve-een) and Caoilfhoinn (Kee-lin). Of course we all had nicknames...Clio, Evie, and Kiki...:lmao: SOOOOO not what my granddad had intended!!

The ordeal of having a traditionally spelled Irish name was above and beyond. We even had one teacher tell my sister that he REFUSED to call her a name that was not spelled properly! Learning to SPELL names was a nightmare! If it weren't for Sister Clare, who was born and raised in Ireland...we all would have been sunk! (she was the asst. principal!)

:)

Here is the first of many outfits to come. We are going to Disney in April, and after seeing all of your beautiful clothes, I wanted my daughter to have something special to wear everyday, so I am sewing like a crazy person. This is the only one I have taken pictures of so far, but I'll post others next week sometime. Edie thinks she looks so pretty in it...

Hi there :) I'd like to introduce myself if that's OK :) I would have done so sooner but I had to go wish some folks a happy birthday so I could post a picture with my hello ;)

My name is Laura, I'm a SAHM to two gorgeous toddlers. My daughter, Gabi is 2.5 yrs old and my son, Camden, is 1.5 yrs old. They are only 13.5 months apart so I keep pretty busy. I'm always doing arts and crafts with Gabi and sometimes just for me. I love photography and do lots of it too :)

The last time I went to Disney World was in 1998 for my honeymoon. I'm excited to say I'm going back for Gabi and Cam's first trip and my 10 yr anniversary this September. I plan to make some cute stuff for the kiddos to wear.

I've loved looking through your gorgeous work and getting ideas so far :)

Here are a few non-disney things I've made to say hello since I know you like pictures ;)

Here is Camden, I didn't make anything here but I did take the pic and I wanted to show at least one of him since Gabi is mainly who you'll see in the following pics and I hate to leave him out :)

Wow, Laura! Where to start? First, WELCOME!!!

Cute kids, great photos, LOVE the pinafores!

Also, thanks for making blankets for Project Linus! We use a TON of Project Linus blankets in the NICU where I work!

I'm NOT a sewer at all, the last project I tried sewing for my DD (a simple pillowcase dress!) came out so yucky! :sad2: But this thread is SO inspirational, I might give it another shot! I LOVE all the gorgeous fabrics you guys are using! Well, you guys got me to subscribe and hooked...:lovestruc
Looking forward to seeing more projects!

Instructions on making background
Things to buy...
1 sheet of clear plexiglass.
It is sold in Home Depot, and Lowes. It's in the back of the store. Ask the attendant for help. It should come covered with paper that you peel off. Don't buy it, without making sure it isn't scratched or dug up.
1 king size black sheet- I got mine at Walmart for 15 dollars.
PVC Pipe 1 1/4 inch. (or whatever diameter you want. 2 10 foot long sections will be plenty.
2 PVC Elbows in the diameter of the pipe
2 PVC t's. They are shaped like the letter t with an openin on each end for a total of three openings.
Cut one piece of your PVC 50-60 inches long.
Cut 2 pieces 50 inches long.(be sure they are the same length.) So you should have 3 pieces total. This will construct the frame to mount your fabric to.
Take the longest piece of PVC and put one elbow joint on each end. Insert the two side pieces into the elbow and you should have a big "U" shape. This is actually the sides and top of your frame.
Next take the T joints and put one on each leg of the U. Put the leg into the bottom of the T, so two ends stick out.
Cut the rest of your left over PVC into 4 equal sized pieces. Insert these into the T on the bottom to create some support for the frame.
Then take your black sheet and either hang it over the PVC frame, or use clips or clamps to hold the fabric in place. The fabric should hang down onto the floor and come out towards the photographer. The lay the plexiglass down on the fabric and smooth out any wrinkles under it. And that's it.
If the PVC instructions are confusing, you could always hang the sheet on the wall, and still use the plexiglass, but having the frame makes it portable. If it's sunny outside, you can take the whole thing outdoors and use it in the driveway, garage, kitchen, sunroom, where ever.
I used a hacksaw to cut the PVC, and I didn't glue the joints so I could take it apart to put it away.
It doesn't cost much and I think it has a great result.
I will try to post pictures tomorrow. I hope this helps those who asked.

OOh thanks! I would love to get some better photos of my kids! I have 2 siblings who are photographers, I may be able to talk one into taking some pics for me...

Thought you might be interested to see some other non-Disney outfits that I have made, now that I can post pictures...

I just had to post pictures of these. They are actually beads that I bought years ago, and never used. Aren't they adorable. I have 4 Minnie girls, 2 blue and white sailor girls and snow white and the evil queen.
