:welcome: To you- You should check out the 1st post if you haven't yet- Lots of great info!!! After you hit the 10 post count feel free to share some pictures!!! We look forward to getting to know you and seeing all your creations!!! When is your trip??

Thanks! I have already read the first post and the previous two threads. So many great outfits and wonderful advice! I generally wouldn't take part, but this seems like such a fun and friendly group.

We are going to Disney World at the end of June. It will be our third trip as a family, and somewhere around my 21st or 22nd. (My daddy also loves Disney World).

Hi, Heather! Welcome! Got to warn you though this thread is VERY addictive and very shortly you too will be dressing every you know in Boutique Disney Inspired Clothing ...:lmao: :rotfl2: Even your Pets.....Nana

Oh, believe me, I am fully aware of the addictive nature of the DIS boards. I spent months reading before and after our last trip. I'm certain that it will only be worse now that I've discovered this group! :)

Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome! You husband will approve when you get to Disney and everyone comments on how cute your daughter's outfits are. Then he'll understand!

Thanks for the welcome!

I think he probably will, but he likes to give me a hard time about it. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the huge pile of fabric I now have stacked in the craft room.:rotfl:

The boys are getting some clothes, too. Although they aren't really sure they want to dress in clothes that match their sister. Silly boys.

I have been really impressed with your outfits. Your children are adorable.

Thanks, she's much happier today :)

Well I'll show some of the past couple of weeks knitting since I don't have sewing to show (I actually do have stuff cut out but that is as far as it went)

Ballet slippers for a friends dd

I hand dyed the wool using cake gels :) they tie up around the ankle and look gorgeous on. I haven't got a pic in photobucket of them being worn - I do in flickr but I don't know how to post from flickr to here :)

I've done more just need to hunt out the pics

ooh how I have not knit in such a long time. I seem to switch, but never do sewing, scrapbooking, painting, or knitting at the same time. its one or the others. Those are great. I have a pattern for ballet shoes, Those look great! and that sweater.. Fabulous!

YAY! I am sooo excited to finally say that I "whipped" something up!:rotfl: I made this skirt today in about thirty minutes and that was cutting out the pattern, cutting out the fabric, sewing and finishing!   I thought it was cute and my dd LOVES it!!!!!
DSCF20582.jpg

And this is a close up of the bias tape! I ran out of pink thread so I just used some yellow and a decorative stitch and I love the way it looks!
DSCF20602.jpg

Okay, now off to catch up!

adorable! It does look great on her. and I love the decorative stitch!

Thanks everyone! I really like the way it looks on her! And it does have an elastic waistband! It is basically a little circle skirt, but I really like that there was NO gathering!LOL You just attach the bottom to the waistband and the put in elastic! VERY simple!

Got to love NO GATHERING!! hahaha

Here are some pictures of the peter pan outfit. can I just start by saying I hate it...LOL. The skirt is okay, but no matter what I did, I couldn't make a top short enough so you can see the appliques. I wound up making two tops. I used the laguna skirt pattern for the back of the first top. It was so hard to make, and then when she tried it on, it was WAY too long for that skirt...GRRRRRRR!!!!!!
So I made a second top. A white halter...it's okay...but not what I really wanted to make. So anyway here it is...
oh yeah, I got my bug's life, Marie, Mickey Sailor, Savannah Safari, and Moo Cow fabric today!!! YEA!!!

Sorry Wendy's blurry.
307383173.jpg

307383188.jpg

I love how it came out!!

what about a sort of mini shirt and pair ti with a plain fitted T so its not too long. Or even one of those fabulous corset tops. BUT I love both tops, but I see how it doesn't show off the awesome work you have done on the skirt.

This set is the first from my "OK to Wear Every Day Collection" :rotfl2:

No bloopers today, darn it! Note the creases on the shorts...for Tom!

Can you tell she's FREEZING?

very cute. What pattern did you use? I love that top! Oh and that Dora fabric. I have been asked to get more. You know since she didn't want it then once she saw pants made for someone else! kids!!

I love the everyday wear. They whip up so quickly too.

I've been lurk... er, I mean, admiring everyone's work here for a week or so and thought perhaps I should jump in and introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Heather and I'm a proud mama of two sons and a daughter. And a huge Disney fan. All the beautiful work you've been posting has inspired me to start sewing again for our upcoming trip. My daughter thanks you all for this. The jury is still out on my husband's opinion. ;)

:welcome: Jump right in! Oh yes, my dd does the same thing. NOW, I know if I hear her coming I close the screen hahaha OR she will want everything she sees.

I really want to make DD something Peter Pan for our next trip (end of this month!). But she's a unique spirit, and her favorite part of the movie is the crocodile doing silly things! What can I do? I can find a few cute pictues of Tick Tock, but can't figure out how it's going to look "Disney" without a whole lot more applique! Any good ideas?

Deb

What if you did the Croc on Peter Pan fabric or a bed sheet of Peter pan. That would shout Disney! and maybe him up, and have tink flying over him?

Thanks! I've been dealing with a lot of that the last week. "Oooooooh, Mama! Can you make me that? And that? And that?" :rotfl:

p.s. I promise I'll figure out the multi quote thing eventually.

Checking in and trying to stay caught up! Awesome creations lately, everyone!!

Hey! I've actually been SEWING! I made a little dress last night and a top so far today. I almost forgot how to thread my serger. Took a couple of tries to remember correctly! The kids are finishing up with lunch, then I'll see if DD will model for me and post the pics!

Yup, it happens A LOT and since some of these ladies and Tom are pretty darn fast...you will learn to hide the screen. or lurk and read at bedtimes like me! haha OR like now when Georgia is at school.

I just tell my DD this "Look at my shelf all of that is for you. Do you really think that you need more than that?" That usually works for me because I have four stacks of fabric that is waiting to be turned into stuff.

I'm supposed to be sewing right now, but it's cold outside and I need to go to WM for thread and I don't want to go. I'm working on a pirate dress for someone and when I'm done I'll post pics of the other dresses that I was working on.

I also wanted to tell you Miss. Leanne has got her full and is now working on Arabians. I am so proud of her!

OH YAYAYAYAY For her!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:  :cheer2:  :cheer2: How phenomenal! She has a true gift if she is getting these elite skills in that short amount of time. I would love to see her perform!

Tell her I said congrats!

Both of these are from New Look 6796. Very fast and easy!

This one probably NOT for everyday, being mainly ivory and all. . . Maybe Easter? Not sure yet. It's kinda casual for Easter.

Hi Heather!

I'll be happy when we have something besides white, white, and mud spattered white...
That made me laugh! I can SOOO relate!
So last night I was using a spool and was thinking would it be great is this spindle was taller so the tall thread would fit right? So I pull up it and bamm!!!! It does go taller:rolleyes1 :headache:

I cant believe I went all of these months and didn't:scared: know it did that
:rotfl2: Too funny!

I've also got a photo of Hope. Her name just appeared, I can't really say where from! I was adamant that I wanted a name that couldn't be spelt wrong or shortened. Her middle name is Amelia which is a great-great grandmothers name on both sides (but funnily enough we didn't know that when I picked it!).

The quilt is gorgeous, and Hope is breathtaking!!! What a beautiful baby!!
Ok, fabric snobs.... I was at Hobby Lobby last night and they have some amazing new stuff for spring. Great quality too. I love the vintage/retro prints and they have tons of it! Add a 40% off coupon (take 2 and bring your husband :cool2: )
Hobby Lobby has a 40% coupon???? YEAH!!! I've only seen the 25% lately, which really bugs me, becuase there is some astronaut fabric that Lydia really wants in case we go to Kennedy Space Center! I see a trip to Hobby Lobby is in order for this weekend!!!!

Thank you! I do think she has a gift for tumbling. I wish she had the same motivation for cleaning her room :lmao:

She is by no means perfect in her full yet, but she does have it and to me it looks pretty good.

What has helped her is we have a new tumbling coach at the gym. He is young (and very easy on the eyes :)) and he lets the girls try things even if the skill they are working on is not perfect. She tumbles with him one night and then with her coach and favorite tumbling instructor another night and he works on perfecting her skills. I think having two different instructors with such different styles is really helping her. Not to mention her best friend tumbles with her and they are super competitive.... in a good way!

Ohh this is so cute!!! I have the same pattern laying on my sewing table. I am going to have to try it. Your tops are adorable and I love the fabric choices.

I am working up the nerve to try the simplicity Cinderella dress pattern. It is so out of my league, but I really want to Katie to wear it to dinner at 1900 in a few weeks. I think I am going to try to cut it out today.:scared1:

These are super cute, I may have to try that pattern :)

I found this site and just the wrong time......This is the end of my first week back at work after maternity leave. I've spent most of today catching up on all your posts and not sewing as I'd planned!!!

To everyone, there are some fantastic outfits posted - I'm jealous of you all. And not just the sewing, the photography too. DH likes messing on paintshop so I'm going to show in your piccies tonite and tell him I want something similar!!

The plan for this weekend is to make a little sun dress for Hope but I've also just been and brought the A-line dress and Easy-Fit pants patterns from YCMT so I might need a little visit to the shops for more fabric!

In the meantime I thought I'd post a photo of the last quilt I made. I found the pattern a couple of years ago and had grand plans as I'd just found out I was pregnant. I miscarried a little while later and didn't really want to make a baby quilt so I made this for an older girl for the linus project.

I've also got a photo of Hope. Her name just appeared, I can't really say where from! I was adamant that I wanted a name that couldn't be spelt wrong or shortened. Oh my gosh, she has the sweetest rosy cheeks, what a little doll :)

I realized that I didn't post how I came up with Tessa's name. I saw in a baby book that Tessa is the short form of Teresa. So, of course I wanted to name my baby after my wonderful sister! Her middle name is Jane, which is the same middle name as Henry's high school teacher, Nancy Jane. Sounds weird, but she really took him under her wing and she's like a mother to him.:lovestruc

Her last name wasn't Goodwin-Hilling was it? I grew up in a town with a military base and a lot of the soilder's wives (MP training facility) were school teachers. One of my favorites that moved middle way through the year was Nancijane Goodwin.

I just have a few minutes, so I haven't caught up yet. But, I just wanted to show you guys what I was working on yesterday. I've had this fabric for a while and I love it so much that I wanted to make something really cute. I used CarlaC's new pattern and embellished it a bit. I just love it! I put a snap on the back of he little jewel flower on Hello Kitty's head, so I can snap it off for the wash.

Here's my pitiful attempt at artsy-fartsy photography:

My cutie-pie:-------------------------------Close-up of the dangly things. Tessa wanted a purse and a heart, and butterflies. So this is what I did:

I put the Mary Poppins dress under it to see how it would look. So, if you see any red bows, that's why!:

Now I'm off to my mom's to eat (core) pizza with Teresa and everyone!
I gained 1/2 pound this week

Alright DD is home and here is the outfit that I made for her to wear to school. I hate that I am limited on what I can do for her for school but I think that this turned out pretty cute.

The socks are the ones that I made for her for Valentine's Day. She decided to wear them today.

Those are both very cute, but I LOVE the monkey print! Adorable kids, too.
