Has anyone ever made a custom outfit for a Pirate Cruise? Y'all know what i'm talking about? I have my step kiddies signed up for the one that leaves from the Grand Floridian!! I want to put them in something cute...just not sure what yet!

I think this is the last year they'll wear what I lay out for them no questions asked...already my step daughter is getting "ideas"... ;) I blame High School Musical!

any pirate cruise suggestions?

thanks everyone...y'all never cease to amaze me with your creativity!

:goodvibes

This is the Simplicity #4206 (Sewing For Dummies) pattern I've gotten my money's worth out of. One day when window shopping on :wizard: I saw this very well done outfit with a similar color palate. These bottoms are a paisley and the top is a wee little flower print in celery, mustard and a little teal. This :wizard: was SUPER expensive and had a ton of included pieces. I just wanted the peasant top and pants. So here I go saving me a pretty penny and am really pleased. It's the first outfit I've made where I wouldn't die if any of you looked at the seams :lovestruc

(sorry so big)

I have no model this weekend. She went to stay the weekend with my Grandparents. They adore her and she adores them so I am the one pouting this weekend. Plus her cousins are coming in from Monroe so she will have someone to play with.

In case ya'll didn't notice I finally fixed the date on my camera. It now has the correct date and time. Yeah Me!!

Thanks Disneymommieof2 for keeping mein the loop. I have been working 40 plus hours a week plus have no internet connection at home. So having trouble getting around here. I miss you guys. Totally have NOT been sewing. I am the worst mom and wife ever. My dishes aren't done and the kids are in store bought clothes (not always clean ones) This 40 hour work week thing is for the birds, whose idea was it anyway??? But I think we are on our way to saving the house from foreclosure and the weather is warming up and B has been working again so hopefully it won't be long before I'm back on the boards chatting w/ all of my friends again. I really miss having you guys to keep me motivated and smiling. Smiling is something I haven't been doing a lot of lately. But I think things are starting to look up. Lily has a staff infection...so on top of everything I'm super exhausted b/c she hasn't been sleeping very well. Her fever broke finally yesterday (it started last thursday) but the swelling in her lymph glands under her arm hasn't gone down yet....but she is, thankfully, eating normally and NOT crying constantly. So I'm looking forward to a couple of good nights of sleep.
I'll try to get back here to look over the new stuff sometime in the next week.
Hope everyone is well, know that I am thinking of all of you!

...t.

I truly hope that things are on the up and up for you. Sorry to hear about the staff infection  I hope she is back to feeling better soon.

I mostly lurk on this thread, but I wanted to come out of lurkdom to say: Heck yes they happen! In one week...a Monday, Wednesday and a Thursday, my sisters and I all ended up at the ER for different things...I fell out of a tree and ended up with a concussion...older sister was running in her socks through the kitchen, slipped and skidded into the wall, broke her little toe...and younger sister got kicked in the face after walking too close to someone who was swinging on the playground and she ended up with a very nasty black eye and red blood blister thing on her eyeball that made her look like night of the living dead! My poor mother was horrified as we were all supposed to be well mannered little Southern Belles...when really we were rowdy wild girls! (I was STILL in my Southern Miss pageant that weekend!) :rotfl2:

I hope your little girl doesn't have to have surgery. Poor baby.

wishing you all the luck and pixie dust you can handle!!!

Thank you I just thought that I was going to lose my girls if they didn't stop hurting them selves. I am glad to hear you and your sisters turned out ok. I have some hope then.

I hear ya on that one. My little Diva will change her clothes everytime she gets even a tiny spot on her clothes. With this outfit all we have to do is take a quick trip to the restroom and voila clean again!!!

That turned out really cute!
Like Aimee used to say, You CAMIB! (copied and made it better)
You got all fancy shmancy with the applique too! Great job!

Yikes! What am I doing up at 2 a.m.? You guessed it! Sewing. Must get to sleep, Leighanna does not have school tomorrow, so I can't go back to bed!

I love them. you know Georgia is really into strawberries this season. Good thing too, I have about 3yds of ladybug and strawberry fabric. I plan on a dress and some pants with a halter top or something.

Ooooh I love that! We are huge Tink fans here.

That looks great. I think I might CASE that, I hope to pick up some new patterns this weekend, well after work tomorrow anyway.

Ok now being the crafty mama I was just looking at Emmy's one size fit's all except her sling and  I could probly make one of those. So has anyone ever made one for their chrild before???

Sorry about your crappy week, hope it gets better and no more accidents. I have a child's size sling if you would like to copy it to make your own.

Cute! I love the little appliqués. And your daisy is so cute, is it removable?

Very cute! Glad you got the right sides together and thread in your bobbin. I love that sewing for dummies pattern. Norah's hair looks so long and beautiful!

So cute! I love the daisy with the face on it. And reversible is always great.

Did you think the serger won? I did almost give up on threading it but after two hours I finally got it working. Then it took me 30 minutes to make the pjs! Like UMama, this is the first thing you can look at the seams on the inside without me cringing!

Thank you for the compliment. This was super easy to make and I think that I am going to make another set like this for her cousin.

Well the sling the hospital gave us just needed alot of making smaller but. As of 10:30 last night she had a brand new one. I think it is adorable. At first my hubby just told me to fix the one she has. But I of course didn't listen and I made my own. Hey princess's don't wear navy blue. Ok now I am just rambling. Thanks for the offer it was very nice.

I love the pjs. I have 2 yards of snuggle flannel that I bought to make the twins pj bottoms. But I have yet to find a pattern that was for toddlers. So i will just hold onto it. Have a great day.

beautiful outfit and she looks just like youuuuuuuuuuuuuu! absolutely adorable!!!

ooh that is nice :D Wow I can't believe how inexpensive stuff is over there. Sewing cabinets like that start at $700 here and go up to well over $1500. Mine is 2nd hand and I paid $277 for it - the newest version of this one currently sells for $1449. :) I'm lucky to get it so cheap as she didn't list it well imo she should have called it a horn sewing cabinet as it was by fluke that I saw it (after losing another table that went for $410 - the same as this but white)

here is mine - pics taken straight from auction so not my mess :) lol

I'm in love - I can't wait for DH to pick it up tomorrow :)

That looks really sturdy and roomy. Have fun getting it all set up and organized!! The one I got is just pressboard and the veneer is already starting to chip off in a few places. They are on the back/inside so I didn't bother to go through the hassle of returning it. It's perfect for what I need and you can't beat the price.

OH MY HEAVENS!! These are all gorgeous!! Did I mention that I love that turquiose color?...yeah, I may have mentioned it...I LOVE IT!!

Thanks for checking in! Don't be so hard on yourself. When you work you have to realize that you just can't do it all. Take time for the kiddos and yourself and everything else will be there when you get to it. I hope Little is all better very soon.

SOOO Pretty!!

Great job!! Enjoy your quiet weekend!! Uninterupted sewing - woo hoo!!

Those are very cool!! If it weren't for his name, I'd think they were store bought!

jham - did you use the stripwork jumper pattern for those dresses, or what pattern??? TIA!

Last night around 1 am I started making a dress for DD. This is the finished product. This is my take on the whole pirate diva thing.

S2010079.jpg

This is the back. The middle is supposed to look like a pirate map.
S2010078.jpg

And this is the front. I sure hope my Diva likes it.
This is for her to wear to WDW.

lisa had sent us a link for that stretch net chiffon to use on pettiskirts. Does anyone know where to find it? I thought I had it saved, but it must be hidden among alot of saved junk.

Simplicity has a Pirate outfit pattern with a petti-type skirt. I thought it might be fun for a day in MK when they want meet Captain Jack.

When I make PJ bottoms, I just get a pair of theirs that fits well now, fold them so its just one leg, line it up on the fabric and then cut allowing for a seam allowance, there arent really any tricky parts to it, and they come out great - just remember to also leave extra at the top and bottom for elastic and hem!!! The outfits below are all products of tracing around other pants to make pants. The first 2 are size 18mos and the Cars one is a 4T - lol....Im not so great with the paper patterns!!
