Look what LisaZoe made for Miss Avery! She was so excited. This outfit is just too too cute Lisa! After she got it on she insisted on wearing the sash around her neck instead of in her hair. I'll do a TR when we return so everyone can see her customs at the parks. I'm almost done making her bracelets and hair accessories. :goodvibes

I took some time away from sewing and made DD some bows. I got to thinking while I was making the bows how silly DD is. When she was a baby up until about 2 years ago she hated to have anything in her hair or on her head. Now she asks me all the time when am I going to make/buy more bows. Odd how they can change so drastically. Anywho here are the bows. The black and pink one is to go with the pirate outfit that I made, the egg one goes with DD's Easter dress and the green are for St. Patrick's day. The kid's have to wear uniforms to DD's school so bows are all we can do so she will have green on.

Has anyone ever made a custom outfit for a Pirate Cruise? Y'all know what i'm talking about? I have my step kiddies signed up for the one that leaves from the Grand Floridian!! I want to put them in something cute...just not sure what yet!
I think this is the last year they'll wear what I lay out for them no questions asked...already my step daughter is getting "ideas"... ;) I blame High School Musical!
any pirate cruise suggestions?
thanks everyone...y'all never cease to amaze me with your creativity!
:goodvibes

How about something like this!!!!

lisa had sent us a link for that stretch net chiffon to use on pettiskirts. Does anyone know where to find it? I thought I had it saved, but it must be hidden among alot of saved junk.

Simplicity has a Pirate outfit pattern with a petti-type skirt. I thought it might be fun for a day in MK when they want meet Captain Jack.

ohh which pattern is it?

Am I missing that there's any more to it than a basic A-line with "back flaps" and a tie? I was trying to avoid buying another pattern since I have an A-line that will fit. :)

Are the flaps comparable to say, another back piece cut in two? From the picture on the Butterick site, looks like the 2 sides of the back might be slightly smaller than a full back? (if that makes sense?)

Thanks!

ETA Ok, did the obvious (DUH!) and just went to Butterick's website. It shows it "flat" there. TOTALLY not what I was thinking (though I think I can still make it work.) http://img.sewingtoday.com/cat/10000/add_img/B5019.gif
(thanks Tinka Bell for the pic, I missed that one in the album, it got me re-thinking!)

Last night around 1 am I started making a dress for DD. This is the finished product. This is my take on the whole pirate diva thing.

S2010079.jpg

This is the back. The middle is supposed to look like a pirate map.
S2010078.jpg

And this is the front. I sure hope my Diva likes it.
This is for her to wear to WDW.
Oh I really like that I love those materials I have bought some of those to make purses for myself.

When I make PJ bottoms, I just get a pair of theirs that fits well now, fold them so its just one leg, line it up on the fabric and then cut allowing for a seam allowance, there arent really any tricky parts to it, and they come out great - just remember to also leave extra at the top and bottom for elastic and hem!!! The outfits below are all products of tracing around other pants to make pants. The first 2 are size 18mos and the Cars one is a 4T - lol....Im not so great with the paper patterns!!

Oh my word that is stunning. She is so cute. Lisa should design for chrildresn clothing stores. Or open her own place. I would shop there. Just don't tell my hubby.:rolleyes1 :rotfl2: :lmao:

Ok Here is the princess with the broken arm. In her custum made sling. I had to bribe her with gootsnacks (fruit snacks) To take the pics. But I thought I would share.

That is the cutest sling I have ever seen in my life. You do realize that when you take her out in public you will most probably be asked constantly where you got the sling from? Right?

For the pics not resizing properly from Photobucket. If you go ahead and make the changes wait about a minute than post they should be fine. I have noticed that it is doing the same thing.

Whew!!! I just spent all morning, and now into the afternoon scrolling through 80 pages looking at pics. So many fantastic creations! That Splash Mountain cake was unbelievable. did you actually let people eat it??

I don't have this pattern, but my guess is that the two peices are the same size and both peices have the side flaps that tie. The reason I say they are the same size is because I saw someone that made the dress reversible.

I didn't make this. The pic came from the disboutiquers photobucket.

I am an amateur sewer with an amateur sewing machine, and I do okay. My big question is, are the princess and characters, like the one in the purple evil queen outfit, are they hand sewn or did you buy them somewhere ? TIA

UGH. Ok I need help. I have the Brother SE 270D sewing machine and I was just starting to learn the embroidery feature last night. So, I use the embroidery bobbin thread that came with the machine and the I bought Gutterman embroidery thread at Joann's sale. It worked perfect. Beautiful application.

Here is the problem. Dh bought me the pacesetter embroidery thread set so I would have all the right numbers for the Disney colors right? Well, I cannot get this thread to work right and apparently its made for the brother machines. :confused3 I'm so frustrated because it keeps bunching up underneath the fabric and I get an error message that states I need to check and rethread the top thread. I've tried putting this in the cassette, on the larger spool attachement, even on a seperate thread stand and nothing works. :headache: It keeps bunching up on me. I've even used the thread net but I'm not sure if I am doing it correctly as it makes it difficult for the thread to unwind. The other thread just works fine. I have this huge set of 61 colors that I cannot get a refund on so am stuck with it? Somehow this thread has to work.

Any help from you all is GREATLY APPRECIATED. :worship: I'm so lost.

Ok I am going to edit this because I JUST figured it out!!! I had to put the little doohickey into the thread hole to stop the spool from wobbling!!!!!! Makes perfect sense now! 6 hours later and I finally figure this out!

WOW!!! LOVE the Sling!:lovestruc When I broke my right arm last October I should have made a custom sling then I wouldn't have had to spend the $110.00 for the one from the Dr. :scared1: Nana

OH MY GOODNESS
THAT IS TOO MUCH

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

I finally finished Sawyer's Prince Charming outfit!! I have no partially finished projects now!

Lucky Miss Avery! She looks gorgeous! Too bad I don't even try to CASE Lisa!:rotfl:

I took some time away from sewing and made DD some bows. I got to thinking while I was making the bows how silly DD is. That is so cute! I wish I'd thought of that when DD2 broke her arm! She had the ugly way too big navy blue sling that just wouldn't stay on.

For the pics not resizing properly from Photobucket. If you go ahead and make the changes wait about a minute than post they should be fine. I have noticed that it is doing the same thing.

I wish that would work for me! Yesterday when I was updating my TR (shameless plug) I resized and rotated everything, then logged out of photobucket, came back an hour later and it still left some photos large and or sideways! :headache:  :sad2: :guilty: It is driving me crazy!

I am an amateur sewer with an amateur sewing machine, and I do okay. My big question is, are the princess and characters, like the one in the purple evil queen outfit, are they hand sewn or did you buy them somewhere ? TIA

Mostly they are hand sewn. Aimee did the evil queen herself. Usually the only ones that are not hand done and pieced together are our famous "pillowcase" creations.

I have NO IDEA what you just said there, but it made me laugh!

JHAM I am going nuts over those adorable summer dresses. I love the colors and fabrics! :thumbsup2

Thank You! Let's just hope someone else likes them enough to buy them at the boutiques! I don't know what I'd do without all of you and your nice compliments

I've been away for a few days, and I have caught up on reading, but I'm not going back to quote everyone.

Theresa- you are definitely a cool mama;) You know you all are:hippie:

Jham and sugarbee, I love your cute little boutique outfits. I hope they sell.

Flea- I realized that my walmart sells that tink fabric! So I bought some to make a matching dress for Julia! I was so excited!

And here is my latest creation. Zofia went to her friends bday party this morning and she told me Thurs. morn that she wanted a twirly skirt like the one I made for her. So I spent last night sewing up a gift. No model because I knew if Zoe tried it on she would somehow dirty it.

I think the mom liked it better than her daughter. :lmao: One of the other moms was inspecting it. They were like "this looks like one of those boutique outfits that cost $50. It was cool...
