Sorry, too lazy to thumbnail the photos :confused3 It's been a long day.

With all these Aline tops being shown lately, I thought I would try my hand at one too!

Gorgeous! I've got that in my "to do" list!

Okay, I did something crazy today! I made something for myself! :scared1: I have NEVER made any kind of article of clothing for myself, so, I'm a little freaked out! I know it doesn't look like much, but...it's pretty cute on, actually! I liked it so much, I made one for little nubbins...and my other daughters actually want one too! NICE!!! I like it with jeans, but leggings would look cute too...and a shirt underneath is cute too...or plain when it's warm...
Anywho...I saw it last night on another site and totally had to case! I'm so proud of myself...I know, I'm a dork.... :rotfl2:

I haven't posted in awhile, so I thought I would pop on and say hi!! We leave for our trip this Sat, and I can hardly stand it!!

I wanted to also share my boys Peter Pan outfits that my aunt handpainted for the boys. I also had 2 outfits made from :wizard: for them to wear. LOL!!

WOWWWW! That is some amazing artistic talent right there! HOW COOL!!!
:worship:

Cute! I want to see you model it, of course. And Saylor's is just too cute. Please do share where you got the pants pattern. I bought some pants for Megan from Old Navy that I might try to CAB. They were knit pants, but with shirring and the waist. They are so cute and fit my skinny girl. I think I'll have to try it with the next pants I make her.
:lmao: Yeah, we'll see about the modeling part...Saylor for sure! I have to say, these look MUCH cuter on!
The pants are just the rosie gauchos that I make for EVERYTHING...I just created the ruffle on the top by cutting out more fabric at the top of the pattern to fold over..just like the technique w/the peasant top...make sense?

Hey great customs once again everyone!!!! Too many to quote now that I am all caught up!!! I just have to tell you that Iam having a love/hate relationship with my seam ripper today...UGG!!! Working on something new and I have already taken it apart twice....LOL. :lmao: One of these days....hahahaha.

Hey Eeyore....weren't you the one who was going to be cutting into that adorable Dr. Seuss fabric???? Come on, inquiring minds want to know!!! :confused3 :rotfl2:

I just can not bear myself to cut it yet. I want to cut it and be happy with the pattern I choose. it is a hard thing to cut!

I wish I could sew too...... Trust me I've tried.... my outfits in my mind some how don't make it on the machine. But I've now scouted out ebay and my children will now be hopefully head to toe Disney for months to come. I just wish I could find more matching brother/sister sets!

I have yet to find a peasant top that fits her without major pattern alteration which I just don't have the time/energy to do. When I sew, I want to sew, not struggle with things that don't fit my tall and skinny kid. She doesn't like halter tops (tie/strap behind the neck) or shirring (itchy).

What else can I make for her? Any great ideas? Anyone know of a cute top that can easily be lengthened? A dress that looks super cute on a tall 5-year-old that can be easily Disney-fied?

Deb
Lydia and Tessa are tall skinny 5 year olds too, they look really cute in portrait tops, just make them a little longer and you could put a tie on it to make it more fitted. We have lots of tall skinny 5 year olds on this board!

Did someone say flamingo? I had to post b/c I made this last week. Sorry for the princess not wanting to pose...

TOO CUTE!!!!!!

Here is a Prince Eric shirt I made for our Disney on Ice - Princess Wishes this week!
th_princeeric.jpg

I love that!!! Yeah, I think Prince Eric is pretty cute too!

And here is the corset top I made using Lisa's instructions (also for the Disney on Ice). The skirt I had already made (Ottobre pattern)
th_corsettop.jpg
That is fantastic!! So very pretty!

Thanks! I'll be in the NICU, but not as a bedside nurse anymore. I would be the unit educator.
I hope you get it. :goodvibes

Gosh...I didn't look at the time until now.. it's getting late.
I was wondering if any of my florida friends will be heading the Sea Worlds new waterpark this weekend. They open on Saturday...

OOH, that's finally opening!!! Cool! We've been watching them build that when we go down for what seems like forever! Let us know what it's like when you go!
Apparently I have insomnia...yeesh...oh well, just wanted to share...sorry, no freakishly phenomenal Splash Mountain "I make Ace of Cakes look like an amateur" cake decorating style going on...but still... :rotfl:

I think jham mentioned earlier we're putting some things together for a boutique next month...this is one of mine...
th_boutique005-1.jpg
I'm totally boring, but I LOVE peasant tops and those gouchos!
th_boutique001-1.jpg

Okay, I'll stop...I'm having WAY too much fun..YIKES!!! :scared1:
Have a good night...er...Good Morning! I'm going to bed now...honest....:scared:

I love all those! Great choice of fabrics!!! Saylor is so cute!

Isn't it supposed to cold this weekend? Everytime I think it's done being cold, we get another snap.
Yeah, Heather and I had that same discussion here today as we looked out at the three feet of snow on my Mom's deck!

!!!!!!!????!!!WILL THIS WINTER EVER END????!!!!???!!!!

I finally finished Sawyer's Prince Charming outfit!! I have no partially finished projects now!

!!!!!!!!FANTABULOUS!!!!!!

Look at my little nephew!!! Is he cute or is he cute!!!!!!! Yeah, I know it, he's cute!!!!

You did a fantastic job on that Heather!!! I can't wait to get to Disney with him wearing that!!!!!

WARNING :offtopic:
I went to the dentist today and after he started the drilling told me I really need a crown so my 1/2 hr appointment turned into a 1 1/2 hr. appointment- Then I took ds to the urgent care clinic as his cold has gotten worse- and I needed some reassurance he didn't have a sinus/ear infection. The Dr. said nope just a plain old mn cold!! Yuck- but I got my reassurance that he is not in need of antibiotics.

So I was glad to come on and see all the beautiful creations from today.
dd loved all the babies even when she saw the same ones in the multiqotes it was like a new baby she got so excited "baby....baby....baby" ahhhh it's the simple things that make her happy today :rotfl2:

Saylor and sawyer and lily are so adorable!!!

Loved the sponge bob-It's nice that ds will let you make him some things!!

You go Boutique girls- Good luck with the outfits!!

Leigh is so cute in her new reversible outfit- It's 2 looks in one -gotta love that!!

And I didn't get to finish the dora last night I had NO empty bobbins- :headache:
So I did some other projects to try and empty one, but it was like the never ending bobbin and it got late so I gave up.

Oh and the iron ons were just regular ones not the fabric you put in your printer. Sorry it took so long to answer that!!

And I wanted to say mickeyjen- prince eric and the princess top were really great too.
And the flamingos- which made me think of summer- ahhhh sweet warm sunshine.
Can we just skip the wet icky melting part and go straight to the green warm part!!!!! :rotfl:

I just can not bear myself to cut it yet. I want to cut it and be happy with the pattern I choose. it is a hard thing to cut!

:goodvibes I was wondering whether you had really cut into that fabric yet!!! Well when you find the right pattern you will know!!! LOL. Then you can share it with all of us!!! Looking forward to it.

I don't know what to make it out of. I found Pettitwirl directions it that the same kind of pattern? I am lost.:confused3 I did find some chiffon I liked on clearance at joanns but if it is hard to sew it's not for me I am just getting started on my new machine and hoave no clue what I am doing.

Is it the pettitwirl pattern that CarlaC (LouiesMom) posted? That would be a different kind of skirt.

I used chiffon on Lydia's Giselle dress, it wasn't too hard, but I wasn't gathering it at all, just sewing it.

Megan wore her Marie outfit to school today (it is Tuesday so she could match her underwear) and lost one of her bows. :headache:

This is what I did today:

th_IMG_0076.jpg

It was my first try with the ribbed knit around the collar, it got a little bunched in places. I made this a whole size bigger so hopefully he can wear it next winter too. He probably won't like spongebob next year! I would apologize for his hair, but he wears it this way on purpose. All the boys in his class do, I blame Zac Efron.
Jacob looks so cute!!! I love his Sponge Bob pajamas!! Those are really well done Stephanie!

With all these Aline tops being shown lately, I thought I would try my hand at one too!

WOW!! Your aunt is really talented!!! Those are so cute !
How cute! Tessa is sitting next to me and she said "Oh, she is such a cute girl! What is her name?" I said Leigh Anna. She said "Oh, she has such a cute name!" She also requested that the part from her be purple. :rotfl: These are darling and so are your boys!! Tessa wishes to say something: "This is really, really, cute and I like it. I love Peter Pan. That's my favorite. I wished I had one and this is the best day ever. I don't know what we're doing tomorrow, but that's the best Peter Pan outfit. I like it."

I always like to hear Tessa's input!!! I like the way you typed exactly what she said, I can so hear her now! Hopefully, she will be playing with Lydia tomorrow, while her poor Aunt Teresa has a root canal done! :scared1: A Peter Pan outfit is way better than a root canal!

:goodvibes I was wondering whether you had really cut into that fabric yet!!! Well when you find the right pattern you will know!!! LOL. Then you can share it with all of us!!! Looking forward to it.

I will definetly share it with you guys! I have it sitting right next to the computer for inspiration to hit! ahhh. But I know a few patterns I want to use, but want to make sure it can be used for more than one season!
Lori

I have finally started sewing on the mountain of projects that I have piled up. Hopefully tomorrow or tomorrow night I will be posting a pic of DD's Peep's Easter dress. I have the applique done and I am actually happy with it. It was much easier this time and I think that is because I did not take the main peice off of the heat n bond backing until I was finished. Anyways back to sewing.

Does anyone havea pattern or know of one for pants that doesnt have the side seams?

If you look on youcanmakethis dot com, the "Easy-Fit" Pants for Dolly and Me do not have a side seam. I love this pattern and use it all the time! I have found that if the child is wearing diapers, I need to increase the inseam length a bit. :)

So, I was at Target yesterday (can I mention the store name??? sorry!), anywho...they have the CUTEST sheet set of Princesses! It's the 3 Princesses with the prettiest script writing in the background...it's all "Dear Diary" and different diary entries...SOOOOO dang cute! I've never cut up sheets before and it's a little nerve wracking, HOWEVER! I'm wanting to go for it, so, I'm wondering...the princesses are quite large, and Saylor is quite small...I'm wondering if I should make outfits for when she's bigger...and, what kind of patterns would anyone recommend? Obviously I want the princesses to be seen pretty well...I thought about the Rosie twirl top, or the stripwork jumper without the strips....the a-line (that I'm stuck on) could work for maybe one princess...agh! The flat sheet has the princesses w/the writing in the background, the fitted sheet is just the writing, so, I thought the fitted sheet could make some cute pants. Okay, I'm rambling...lack of sleep last night...
Any ideas would be GREAT! You guys are way more clever than me, HELP!!!!

Hopefully, she will be playing with Lydia tomorrow, while her poor Aunt Teresa has a root canal done! :scared1: A Peter Pan outfit is way better than a root canal!

Good Luck- I recommend taking some tylenol or ibuprofen before the numbing wears off- learn from my mistake!!!! my jaw is killing me!!
And when the dentist told me I needed a crown I said am I gonna need a root canal too- in that spitty numb mouth sorta way. Luckily he said he didn't think I needed one right now! I have had them before- So good luck and happy thoughts for tomorrow!!:flower3:

HELP!!!

I need all of you creative ladies and guy to help me out! Every summer my sister's and I have a girl's weekend and my sister Kerry's cabin. Every year we pick a theme. Here we are last year at our cowboy hat/piggy tail themed weekend. I know we are huge dorks, but that was actually the most normal. Some of our other themes have been...... Giant sunglasses (we all came home with huge white circles around our eyes) Do rags, whale diving competition (we were feeling a little chubby that year!), big straw hat, Pink Flamingo.... Well you get the point, it can be literally anything. You just have to wear it all weekend!

girlsweekend.jpg

Well, this years theme is Disney! My 2 older sisters are going to be evil stepmother and maleficent because they are Disney party poopers! They actually chose those characters. We also take any daughter's who are over 20. I just didn't want to wait for photo-bucket to load them!

My plea is this - Help me think of some fun things that I can make us for the weekend!!!!

I was thinking maybe a swimsuit cover up in some of the princess prints. I really like this one I bought last year and if I can figure out shirring it should be pretty easy.

lakechrisdenise.jpg

I'm not sure about fitting everyone though. I really don't want to hurt any feelings. Not a good way to start the weekend!

Anyway, I am open to all and any suggestions!

Flea, I finally located DD's Irish dress, it was buried in the laundry. I'll take a picture tomorrow and get it up on here. I hope I can find the chemise that goes with it, I have no idea where all the garb has gone, it's scattered around all over the place.

I'm itching to get some stuff going for our trip, the next two weeks are just going to be crazy, I'm hoping to get something started in there somehow.

I think if you want to make her something now you would have more room on an a-line jumper. I haven't seen the sheet you're talking about so not sure on the size- but they got to be smaller than the pillow case size- so they would probably fit on the jumper bodice or you could always make a little bigger for her to wear this summer- I'm alot of help aren't I?!?!

Target had some great sheet sets didn't they! I was too cheap to buy the whole set though the last time I was there. I wish they had the pillowcased seperate like wal-mart. I did go and get the tink pillowcase to make something for princesses on ice. I just don't know what????? I also bought the 2 dot prints that everyone has put with it. We'll see.

Mytwotinks- So who did you pick????
Do you guys all match or just have coordinating themed stuff??
You could always do a swimsuit cover up for yourself with "your" character. What about applique tees for all the sisters.
You could do some fun hair things since you like to get fun and silly.
