What a sweetie- she is adorable!!!!! The dress looks cute- It will fit her for awhile. You just might be getting CASED or at least CABed.

Question for you all- My cousin is having a baby girl soon, what is something I can "whip" up for her. This is her third girl and want do something nice. Any ideas????

I like a bath themed gift...easy to whip up.

A fluffy bath towel with matching washcloth that converts to a hood when sewn onto the towel. Then sew ric-rack or lace or ribbon or even embroidery. I've also done animal "faces" on the hood. :cutie:

Add some Baby Magic bady wash and other bathtime supplies, and "Wah-La".

I still use those towels I made for Norah when she was a baby and she's almost 4!

How about a blanket made with minkie dot? I'm going to make one for my new nephew (I've got the fabric just haven't gotten around to it yet:scared1: and he arrived 12/9). I chose blue and brown minkie dot with a very plush blue fabric for the back. Hopefully it will turn out!

Hey, I just noticed that I haven't seen T-beri on here for a while? Where did she disappear to? Anyone know?

HELP!!!

I need all of you creative ladies and guy to help me out! Every summer my sister's and I have a girl's weekend and my sister Kerry's cabin. Every year we pick a theme. Here we are last year at our cowboy hat/piggy tail themed weekend. I know we are huge dorks, but that was actually the most normal. Some of our other themes have been...... Giant sunglasses (we all came home with huge white circles around our eyes) Do rags, whale diving competition (we were feeling a little chubby that year!), big straw hat, Pink Flamingo.... Well you get the point, it can be literally anything. You just have to wear it all weekend!

girlsweekend.jpg

Well, this years theme is Disney! My 2 older sisters are going to be evil stepmother and maleficent because they are Disney party poopers! They actually chose those characters. We also take any daughter's who are over 20. I just didn't want to wait for photo-bucket to load them!

My plea is this - Help me think of some fun things that I can make us for the weekend!!!!

I was thinking maybe a swimsuit cover up in some of the princess prints. I really like this one I bought last year and if I can figure out shirring it should be pretty easy.

lakechrisdenise.jpg

I'm not sure about fitting everyone though. I really don't want to hurt any feelings. Not a good way to start the weekend!

Anyway, I am open to all and any suggestions!

I like to make pillowcases for get-togethers. I had a girls weekend a couple of years ago with my mom, her sister, and a good friend of theirs... my mom and I had so much fun picking out fabrics to match each of us (and were THRILLED to find cats doing yoga for my yoga instructor aunt!!) Without adding appliques you probably couldn't match each person's character but you could find enough different fabrics to make each one different.

Do y'all take lots of pictures during the weekend? You could make fabric covered photo albums for each person.

I just gotta say this sounds like SO MUCH fun! What a neat idea!

Another idea - you could do simple bath wraps made from towels, and embroider a coordinating character on the bottom.

Oh I love that idea! And those could work as bathing suit cover-ups also.

Wow am I behind lol. I have been painting my living room dining room and kitchen are almost done I just have trim to paint. :)

I would love opinions though! I got this yesterday for my foster boy room. I bought a set and this is the top sheet. I have a blue top sheet that would match it and I really like the mickey sheet. I am seriously considering keeping it to use as fabric. What do you think is the print to big?
001.jpg

That sheet is so cute!! I haven't seen that one before. With the right pattern I don't think the print is too big.

I have been lurking here off and on for the last month or so and have to say thanks for all the inspiration. Prior to visiting this thread, I made costumes for my girls to wear to the princess tea on our last trip to WDW. But thanks to many ideas I have gotten here, I plan to have several outfits made for each of them by our next trip.

Here are the costumes I made last year... (I knew better than to show my face without a photo attached :) ) I did not make my son's pirate costume - I had run out of steam by that point.

I bought some Wendover Cotton material in several colors to make my niece an Incredibles & Pink Panther outfit. I washed/dried it last week but am just now getting around to ironing it. It is soooooo wrinkled and even after ironing it with lots of steam, it's like you can still see where the wrinkles were.

Anybody got any tips for getting it back to normal or should I just rewash it and start all over?

I like the minky dot blanket idea for a new baby.

In case anyone's intrested, I updated my Trip Report! You can see my Tink set "in action!!"

I was wondering about T-beri the other day too. I figured since no-one had mentioned it that I had missed some info that everyone else knew.

Thanks for all of the terrifi girl's weekend ideas! Keep'em coming! I plan on really doing our Disney theme up just to drive the to Disney-haters crazy!:rotfl2:

Ok, I wanted to make one of the face dresses that everyone makes, but my daughter is just too little right now. The face is as big as she is, so this is what I made. I plan to save the projects until she gets a little bigger.

My cousin's GF will be having a baby later this year and I plan on making her some swaddling blankets.

Leah- (Flea!)
I absolutely ADORE the diaper!!!! Thank you soooo much! I will post pics when Julia wakes up from her nap!

TSNCS- Love the AK outfits
Love how dd is holding the cat :lmao: like a little baby doll.
ds does the same thing when ever we are around a cat. We don't have one.
The mickey minnie heads are cute!!

Megan wore her Marie outfit to school today (it is Tuesday so she could match her underwear) and lost one of her bows.

This is what I did today:

th_IMG_0076.jpg

It was my first try with the ribbed knit around the collar, it got a little bunched in places. I made this a whole size bigger so hopefully he can wear it next winter too. He probably won't like spongebob next year! I would apologize for his hair, but he wears it this way on purpose. All the boys in his class do, I blame Zac Efron.
that is too cute ! i love spongebob and that rocks...

With all these Aline tops being shown lately, I thought I would try my hand at one too!

that is cute, i like alot!!!!!

Okay, I did something crazy today! I made something for myself! I have NEVER made any kind of article of clothing for myself, so, I'm a little freaked out! I know it doesn't look like much, but...it's pretty cute on, actually! I liked it so much, I made one for little nubbins...and my other daughters actually want one too! NICE!!! I like it with jeans, but leggings would look cute too...and a shirt underneath is cute too...or plain when it's warm...
Anywho...I saw it last night on another site and totally had to case! I'm so proud of myself...I know, I'm a dork....

th_boutique005-2.jpg

and these are Saylors...seriously, can I go on and on again about these pants! I've gotten them finished in like 30-45 mins if I'm not interrupted!

YAY it got there :) can't wait to see it modelled - I love that print :). Hopefully it's not too big and she can grow into it soon - I think I had it set on the smallest setting :)

For baby gifts...

I have a few "staples"

Here are my sewn ones

Tagged blankets, balls, and blocks.
Cloth diapers or covers (most of my friends are cloth diaper users)
No sew knotted baby blanket
3 seam booties - chloestoes has a free pattern

Do you have merino wool fabric over there?? merino wool is just so light and makes beautiful soft blankets, hats, sleeping bags, wraps and clothes. I just love this for baby stuff. It is expensive but pure luxury and natural so it breathes :) I'm lucky because I live close to a manufacturers warehouse so sometimes get it at clearance of $10-$15m instead of $60-$100m:eek:

Otherwise I adore minkee for baby items - I'm making my girls a quilt for christmas with it :D

Awww, she is adorable! Don't worry, she'll grow into her face! :rotfl:

I'm with Elisa, I wish I would have started sewing sooner. All those years we missed!

That is so cute, I don't think the pattern is too big.

Beautiful job on those slippery fabrics! I have yet to try to do a costume yet, yours really look great!

It's so funny to think you snowed in making animal kingdom outfits for some reason. I think they both turned out great, I really like the patchwork mickey head. The girls are beautiful!

that is too cute ! i love spongebob and that rocks...

I was hoping you would see it: I thought of you while I was making it. ;)
