That Ariel outfit is adorable! My dd just walked by and said "OOoooh..that is so pretty!"

Love all the Ariel outfits. I just bought the Ariel pillowcases from Walmart yesterday so I could make dd something with it.

It's weigh in day! I lost1.6 pounds this week!!! :cool1:

I lost 1.5 pounds this week, for a total of 6.5!! I was shocked as I broke down and ate some Cadbury mini eggs yesterday (thanks a LOT guys!).

WOW You must have been reading my mind! After my last post, I went to weight myself! I only lost .5lbs:sad2: , but I keep telling myself that is better than nothing, so I have lost a total of 4 lbs in the past two weeks!   You and Heather are doing GREAT! I say YAY! for us and our weight loss:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: ! EVERYONE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! BTW- I booked our trip to Jamaica!!!!!:yay: We are leaving May 26 and coming back the 30th! I CAN'T WAIT!:woohoo: Another motivation for my weight loss!

Congratulations on all the great weigh-in this week! Unfortunately, I have to say that I am not doing as well as you ladies are. I haven't lost a single pound....:guilty:

My nightmare is finally over!! I have finished the Ltd too shirt. It's not great, but DD8 loves it and put it on right away! So here it is.

The strawberry shortcake outfit is adorable!! Your dd looks so beautiful in the Belle dress...how cool that she got to be in a Disney fashion show.

Welcome!!! Love all your customs. I never even thought about using sheets to make customs. What a great idea.

I finally got Parker's Strawberry Shortcake outfit finished. I am super pleased at how it turned out and she loooooooves it!!! She has worn it twice and has gotten tons of compliments on it which makes her excited and makes me feel proud. Anyways, here it is:

Gorgeous! And her outfits too! Love the Strawberry Shortcake!

Hello all,
I have to admit...I have been a long-time lurker on this board. In fact, I believe I have been reading since the beginner of Thread 1. Well, I have decided to finally share some things that I made. (Actually, I JUST figured out how to post pics or I would have shared a long time ago).

But, before I do, I have a funny story to tell. Last year, my husband's parents, sister and fam and us, decided to do a Magical Gathering. I was so excited for the kids to go together (my daughter is an only child so I have a lot of Mommy guilt about her not having other kids to play with). SO...here we were planning this fabulous trip and decided I wanted to make my daughter a few customs. Well, I could not leave out my niece who is the same age as my daughter...and then I felt sorry for my nephew... HE might want in on the fun...and then I had to include my other niece (one at the time), so SHE wouldn't be left out. And then this board offered so many cute ideas, my list kept GROWING and GROWING and GROWING until I had made 28 outfits for one trip!!!!!!! :scared1: SICK! And then they need hairbows to match...you all know how this goes.

So I will try to share as many different days as I can, without overloading you all with them all. Here is day one...

(P.S. My daughter is the blonde, Chloe. She is an insane poser when she sees a camera. Please excuse her. My husband claims the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. But I have no idea what he means... ;)

100_1871-1.jpg

Great job! How dare you take so long to share! :lmao: And your DD is gorgeous! Thanks for coming out of lurkdom!

WAHOOOOOO!**I have lost a total of , are you ready for this

6.2 LBS
this week!

I can't believe it. I have been working out a little not too much. and eating a little better and just not as big of portions. I could be doing much more. But hey I need time to ease into it, right??

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: YOU ROCK!!!

A,,w ydabto!
Woops, accidentally switched my keyboard to Dvorak! Let's try that again:
Aww, thanks! I thought the Luke was pretty cute too! The pose and the boy!

It was NOT a few years ago! It was June 5, 2007 4:46:07 PM! And, he actually said Hot...sssssssssssssssssssss!!! Yep, I'm still basking!

Thanks, I'm fond of "The Luke" and Luke myself!:rotfl:

And are you sure it was 4:46:07 pm? :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:  Once when I was in college, I was on a long bus ride and a guy passed me a very complimentary note as he got off the bus. I have to confess I kept it in my wallet for a LOOOONG time! We think you are a hottie Teresa, but I guess that's just not the same, is it? :rotfl:

Well, my little monkey has been sick so not much posting for me. It is constantly up and down trying to make her happy. The upside is she wants a lot of rocking and cuddles, which is not the norm, and I miss it!

I did get some sewing done. The diva is not posing so no kid in them.

th_IMG_0058.jpg

First time making buttons! I found these in scrapbooking stash so I didn't even have to buy any. They are not exactly the right color, but they'll do.

th_IMG_0060.jpg

Marie fabric I bought from :wizard: . So cute, but it smells funny! Anyway, I only bought a yard so I couldn't make the skirt as full as I would have liked it. Interestingly enough, my eight year old son picked out the coordinating fabrics (fat quarters). He is much better with colors than I am!

th_IMG_0055.jpg

Made these bows from scrapbooking supplies. My husband said, they are looking like real bows! :thumbsup2

IMG_0056.jpg

The white peasant dress was scary. First of all it's white, and I do not have the perfect non-dirty child that Lori and Tom seem to have. Megan plays hard so I was worried about even making it. The fabric is "linen-like" whatever that means and is pretty heavy. I love the texture to it and we got an AG catalog today that had several peasant tops in the same kind of material. So I guess it's in! I am hoping she can wear it under several outfits, like Tom demonstrated. We'll see.

I am going to a sewing expo tomorrow through Saturday so I won't be on much, so I'll miss you guys but hopefully I'll learn a lot so I can share!

Beautiful outfits! Great job!

Even though my 4 year old is really a pretty clean child, my two year old is another story (hopefully she'll grow out of it like her big sister!). I still love to buy white clothes for my girls since I just use a bleach pen if necessary to get a stain out. It seems to work better than a colored item with stains. For colored clothes though, I love Biz. I will stain stick them, put them in the wash at night with hot water and Biz, and start it the next morning. I check it when the cycle is done and 9 times out of 10 it usually comes out. It also helps if I stain treat it quickly. Biz really is the trick though, I love the stuff!

All the new creations look amazing! The Evil Queen jumper dress is gorgeous. The chocolate bunny looks good enough to eat. And since we are starting St Patrick's Day outfits, here is mine:
Portrait Peasant top:
th_StPatricksoutfit008.jpg

Simple Twirl skirt:
th_StPatricksoutfit009.jpg

And what happens when an almost 3 year old decides she should dress herself:
th_StPatricksoutfit002.jpg

Lauren thinks that any article of clothing should make a nice hat.
I used a flannel material and I love how cozy the outfit seems. Mid-March is still fairly cold here, too, so I choose the fabric for that reason also.

Another cute St. Pat's day outfit! I think a hat might be in order for Lauren, just go "whip" one up for her!

Very cute! I like it. What Pattern did you use? Is it made from knit fabrics?

I started using a pattern, but ended up pinning it onto my dress form and making it work for me using the picture online. Yes the bottom is made out of a knit fabric and it was really stretchy which made it tough.

So...here are some things I've been working on....

th_customs010-1.jpg

This is an outfit for my dn...she turns 3 next month and LOVES Princesses...it kinda looks like jammies, huh?
th_customs013-1.jpg

This is for Saylor...so the girls can have matching cousins outfits....

I'm waiting for UPS to deliver my NEW machine...just like jham's...and my NEW serger...also like jham's...woo hoo! Can't wait to start playing! :yay:

All of the outfits and pajamas are cute but I love the strawberry one! I've got to make something strawberry for spring! Too cute!

uggghhhhh this is officially the worst sewing day ever. spent a long time cutting. piecing getting the applique ready. I started from the feet up!
THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nicholas spilled something I go to clean it up and look what happened! I left the iron on the applique and burned the fabric! on the top left of minnie! UUUGGGHHHH.
I am not starting again!
th_IMG_0708.jpg

on a side note I did not like how this was turning out anyways

I hate it when my day is going that way. I hope it got better as it went on!

I just updated my Trippie! And could one of you lovely people please tell me how I can update my TR title? TIA!

Finally caught up - I was kicked out of the dis last night - must have been doing maintenance or something (darn being on the other side of the world with the time difference).

Everything is gorgeous. There is far toooooo much to multiquote.

Plan for the weekend....Make a matching ladybug outfit for Miss Em - hers will be pink with green to use up the rest of the fabric :)

500g weightloss for me - ummmmm think that is 1lb not sure. But Yahoooo for all the mama's doing so well :) I need to focus more (and not eat cheesecake for breakfast silly DH bringing it into the house :rolleyes1 )

Happy sewing everyone :)

So, you're saying you made it for Tessa's 5th birthday?!!! (her birthday is March 19)

A fellow pisces... my birthday is March 18th. It will be a special one this year ~ my birthday will also be my last day of maternity leave

I made this purse last week and finally got the picture off my camera last night. I used the free pattern the came with signing up for the You Can Sew This newsletter. It is so easy and whip-upable!! I did this in about 2 hours. I brought it to my friend who hosted our Girl's Weekend last weekend. I did sew on the button closure, but I had to take the picture before it was done. I bought a ton of fat quarters at the JoAnn's sale to make more of these for Mother's Day, teacher gifts, and my other friends who saw it and had to have one - LOL!

th_PICT0029-1-1.jpg

I LOVE the purse. I downloaded the pattern but haven't even had the time to look at it yet. Glad to hear it is not a complicated pattern!!

So I haven't been on much this week I have been trying to tackle the mountain of laundry in the basement- :laundy:
And also because I am having a hard time dealing with the death of a girl I went to h.s. with. I need to get back to happier things and figure out how to get past this with out understanding it. Thanks for listening.

:grouphug: hugs for you and your friend's family.

I love the outfits! I don't know how many times I've almost bought those sheets for my fabric stash!

I had a pretty good sewing day yesterday. I finally finished an Ariel top for Lily! And I didn't use any of the bunch of Ariel fabrics I already have. I went and bought new stuff! If you ever have "sewers block" just start over with all new fabric! :thumbsup2

IMG_1003.jpg

sorry about the red eye :scared1: pet peeve! But I couldn't get it to "fix" :headache:

I decided just to use Ariel's tail for the back side of the shirt. I cut out a Flounder to applique on the back, but now I think I'm going to make some matching capris and put Flounder on those.

IMG_1006.jpg

And here is another dress I made (thanks mytwotinks for the flower help!) I love it, but unfortunately it is not for Lily. I say I had a good sewing day because I made this WITH NO MISTAKES! Which is fortunate because it is for my neighbor's boutique. ;) And I must say seersucker is much easier to ruffle! :cheer2:

IMG_1046.jpg

Sorry they are sideways and huge. I rotated and resized them. I don't know what is the problem with photbucket today, but I was having problems with the photos on my TR too :confused3 :headache:

Very cute! :thumbsup2

Okay someone asked me if I used a pattern - here's what I did. I took the skirt part and pulled it up over her chest. Then I attached the straps. Then I added the strips to the top to cover the ruffle edge and the straps. Then I added another stripe across her chest about 4inches down.

If someone has another pattern, please pass it on because this was a nightmare. I doubt I'll use knit again. Cotton seems to be my friend.

So, you're saying you made it for Tessa's 5th birthday?!!! (her birthday is March 19)

You know it!! :)

I got the swirly fabric at Waldemort. I got it about 4 years ago to make a top for my then 1 year old, who is now 6 1/2 so the little I had went in to this dress.

Darn, I really like that!!! Oh well, the search is on now :)

I love that Ariel outfit! So simple and adorable! That looks like the same Ariel that's on the "back" of Tessa's shirt :) Sorry Heather, I couldn't resist :rolleyes1

When I was in 8th grade I messed up my Mom's sewing machine and she banned me forever from her machine. Years later I think she felt guilty and when I had my little girl she bought me a machine. I made one halloween costume, a sheep. But life got in the way and I never touched the machine. Well you ladies have inspired me so here is what I made.

Heya lurker!! I'm so glad that you shared these fabulous outfits with us!! I really love all of them!!

WOW!!!!! You RULE!!! Great job!!

I know LisaZoe posted it and you've told me before, but what is the pressing sheet?

It was NOT a few years ago! It was June 5, 2007 4:46:07 PM! And, he actually said Hot...sssssssssssssssssssss!!! Yep, I'm still basking!
Here's a link to the teflon pressing sheet that I have:
http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat3591&PRODID=xprd74112&source=search
I used my 40% off coupon on it once and got it for about $5. You put it on top of the applique pattern or picture you're using. It's see-through, so you can use the pattern as a guide as to where to put the pieces. Then, you peel off the heat 'n bond paper off the back of the applique pieces you've already cut and assemble them on top of the pressing sheet, sealing them together with the iron as you go. So, when you're done, you can peel the applique off of the pressing sheet, all in one piece! It's the coolest thing! It won't "unstick" the applique, so it will still adhere to the outfit when you iron it on.

Thanks Teresa- and I think that I mixed up tessa and lydia. Tessa is cute but I was referring to lydia in the ariel outfit. oopss!!! Sorry
It's no problem! We do it all the time. I think Teresa just did it a few posts up when she mixed Arminda up with Lydia!

Oh, I laugh about it now. In fact I told Zoe about it the other day and we both laughed. She didn't remember it, of course, but loves to hear stories from "when she was little". :) This one is right up there with the story of her outrage when Shamu splashed her right in the face as she was enjoying her popcorn. Luckily the popcorn wasn't harmed and Aunt Denise saved the day by purchasing a Shamu towel to dry Zoe's face. She does remember that even even though she was only 2 at the time. I guess Shamu made a big impression. :rolleyes1
How funny!

:rotfl:
:rotfl2: Great, now she won't stop talking about THAT for a year!

500g weightloss for me - ummmmm think that is 1lb not sure. But Yahoooo for all the mama's doing so well :) I need to focus more (and not eat cheesecake for breakfast silly DH bringing it into the house :rolleyes1 )

Happy sewing everyone :)

Hey, if I had cheesecake in the house, I wouldn't have lost anything! :woohoo: for your 500g weight loss! I'm going to start counting in grams, it just sounds more impressive! :rotfl:

Gotta love the big Ariel! Did you applique the jeans, too?
The little sundress is so cute, too!

I love that Ariel outfit! So simple and adorable! That looks like the same Ariel that's on the "back" of Tessa's shirt :) Sorry Heather, I couldn't resist :rolleyes1

A-hem, :snooty: she looks GREAT from the back in that sweatshirt!

100acreprincess: You've been in the cool club all along!

Don't read the following if you are squeemish
(DO if you need birth control, j/k):
So, I finished the cutest little strip work jumper for norah and left it on her to go to Walmart to get some matching ribbon to go with the whole outfit (decoupage jeans too) to show off to the fabric ladies. After we were done shopping, she started coughing . Then gagging....then, you guessed it, HORKED up her Happy Meal alllllllll over it, my coat, and Spongie's backseat. :scared: Yup. It was perfectly clean and pressed and everything.

Oh, and Norah's fine

My little one does that too! Got to love that, cough, gag, puke! My favorite is that she usually does it in her car seat (so I get to remove all of that mess and wash the fabric portion) or once she goes to bed at night (and of course you get to change the sheets and wash them after bed time!). Glad to know we aren't the only ones with that easy gag reflex!

YUMMERS!!! I want to try...I LOVE my crockpot..use it ALL the time! I love that cherry vanilla myself...:lovestruc

[\QUOTE]

Okay, here's the recipe! It's a core recipe for Weight Watchers. I served it with some fancy brown rice. The original recipe called for root beer. But, you could use cherry PEPSI, or try something else all together.

DIET CHERRY VANILLA DR. PEPPER CROCK POT CHICKEN

4-8 Chicken breasts
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 cup Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper
1 cup kethup
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tbs worcestershire sauce
3 tbs brown sugar twin
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder

Mix everything but the chicken together and add it to the crock pot. Brown the chicken in a little bit of oil first and then put it in the crock pot. Cook it in the crock pot until it's done. I took the chicken out and put it on a plate, then transferred the sauce into a saucepan and boiled it until it thickened up. Then, I spooned a little on top of the chicken. It was REALLY good! My husband even really liked it and he doesn't like "weird stuff".

Hi everyone!

wow, i cant believe we moved again. Been so busy the last few days, i haven't had chance to get on and see everyone creations on this new thread.

I did see the Evil Queen outfit which was absolutely amazing! I love the style of the skirt too -incredible!

I also saw sawyers top - absolutely adorable - the little man and the top!

Here is what has been keeping me busy the last few days- its not clothing but still disney! its for my cousins new daughter who is being baptised this weekend. I am actually really happy with it - its great how proud you feel when something you've pictured in your head actually works out (it doesn't happen for me very often).

I made her this pillow using one of those fabric art pieces. i embroidered princess sayings around the corners-
A dream is a wish your heart makes... cinderella
I know you, i walked with you once upon a dream... Aurora
Someday my prince will come... Snow white
Wish i could be part of your world... Ariel

On the 2 hearts up top is a heart with a B (for brooklyn)
and on the smaller heart one side says- once upon a time... and the other size says - happily ever after...

the back is embroidered too with the babys name and date of the baptism. i love the fabric i used on the back. it is actually just once piece.

i really hope my cousin likes it, even though it is 'homemade'

Such a perfect gift! I know that I would love it for my girls so I'm sure that your cousin will also love it. You did a fantastic job and should be so proud of yourself!

Did I ever mention the time Zoe got sick - all over me - during an outdoor concert at the zoo? We were on a small blanket surrounded on all sides by people on their own blankets. When Zoe started to get sick, I knew immediately there was no way we could walk through the crowd without her spewing all over them. Being the kind person I am, I pulled her close and tried to keep the worst confined as much as possible. Did I mention it was very HOT and I was in a tank top with built in bra? Guess where the, um, spewage pooled. :rolleyes1 Once I knew she was done, I gathered our stuff and we left as best we could. We stopped at the nearest bathroom where I was able to wash up a little before we walked back to our car. I had a change of clothes in the car for her so she was quickly back to normal but I had to wait until we made the hour long drive home. Needless to say, I was not in the right frame of mind to appreciate the humor until later. What makes me chuckle even now is remembering how she kept asking if we could stop to get something to eat because she was hungry. She didn't understand why eating was just about the LAST thing on my mind. :lmao:

The idea of having drying puke on me for an hour does wonderful things for my imagination. Hope your car's air conditioning was working that day! Yikes! Glad to know that you can see the humor in it now.

Isn't it funny that kids can eat right after they puke? Blows my mind!

So I haven't been on much this week I have been trying to tackle the mountain of laundry in the basement- :laundy:
And also because I am having a hard time dealing with the death of a girl I went to h.s. with. She got in a fight with her husband and committed suicide, she didn't die right away, they had her on life support for five days. Her funeral is this weekend and maybe there will be some answers then. I just don't understand it. Why someone would think that would be the best option. Maybe being a mom changes your perspective. I need to get back to happier things and figure out how to get past this with out understanding it. Thanks for listening.

I'm so sorry this has happened. I had a friend commit suicide two years ago right after Christmas. He had everything going for him, a beautiful wife, three beautiful little girls, had just gotten a job promotion, was model gorgeous himself, etc. After working (teaching patients 21 and under) in a state run mental hospital my only thought on this is that mental illness is a real disease and that it must be so awful that we can't imagine what they are going through. No one in their right mind (meaning not mentally ill) would ever think that leaving all of these people behind who love and need them so much would be a better alternative. I feel so bad for the families left behind without an explanation and for the person themselves to not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and know that things will get better.

HELP!!Ok, now that I've got your attention I need your help! My 8 year old has her birthday next month. The original plan was to have it at the local college activity center. They've got an indoor pool and you can rent a classroom to have your party in. Well I just found out today that they no longer rent out classrooms and you can't have cake or presents by the pool. My daughter really wants to have a pool party. So the only other thing that I've come up with is to have a quick party at our house with cake and ice cream, open presents and then everyone will meet up at the activity center and go swimming. The only thing is that it's 20 miles from my house to the activity center. I don't know what to do. It would have been so much easier to just have it all at one place. Do you think people will still come if they have to go to two seperate places? Or should we just nix the whole cake/presents and hand out goodie bags when it's time to leave the pool? I need ideas ladies!!!! (and Tom :) )

Okay,
These are defiantely hard to see. I was more interested in getting pics of the kids, not the outfits, but here goes:

Chloe had a neck coolie on...not part of the outfit. Maybe next time I have to make neck coolies to match??????? These are twirl skirts, but hard to tell.

I had their t-shirts made by an :wizard: seller. You can see the back of Emma's dress in this one.

The front of her dress. UNHAPPY GIRL!!!

I will try to post more tomorrow! We are due for a huge snow storm, so what else do I have to do????

All of your outfits are fantastic! Thanks for coming out of lurkdom! Can't wait to see more!

For all of you trying to lose weight! Great job! Even though I can't lose weight right now, I'm trying to be very disciplined in my gain. I read an article about babies having a greater chance of becoming obese if their mother's gain more than 25 pounds during pregnancy so I'm trying to stay under that. Also, since I carry some extra "cushioning" around anyway I don't need to have to take off a ton of weight after the pregnancy anyways. Right now I've gained 4 pounds (since I was sick for about 14-16 weeks that was easy to do, it will be the rest of the pregnancy that will be the problem!) and I'm pretty happy with that. Hopefully that will keep me at 25 pounds or under for the whole thing. I only gained 3 pounds with DD4 (sick the entire 41 weeks!) and she was 9 lb 1 oz and gained 28 pounds with DD2 (induced early since DD4 was so big) and she was 7 lb 14 oz.
