CUTE CUTE! Flower turned out great! HELP ME with my serger...I'm SCARED!!!! :scared1: pweeeeeeese!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!

OH SO CUTE! I am in love with the big girls tops! And little Emma's pillowcase dress is to die for! You are my hero! :yay:

So, I have to share a sad story :sad1:
A friend of mine was in a very serious accident yesterday (for you locals, it was the big one that shut down Bangerter during rush hour)...her baby girl passed away early this morning. She was 4. They were hit by a 16 yr old. My heart is breaking for all of them. I keep thinking of little Ashton and her sweet little smile. GO HUG THOSE BABIES! :grouphug:

Oohhh, my heart hurts. My thoughts and prayers to your friend...

HELP!!Ok, now that I've got your attention I need your help! My 8 year old has her birthday next month. The original plan was to have it at the local college activity center. They've got an indoor pool and you can rent a classroom to have your party in. Well I just found out today that they no longer rent out classrooms and you can't have cake or presents by the pool. My daughter really wants to have a pool party. So the only other thing that I've come up with is to have a quick party at our house with cake and ice cream, open presents and then everyone will meet up at the activity center and go swimming. The only thing is that it's 20 miles from my house to the activity center. I don't know what to do. It would have been so much easier to just have it all at one place. Do you think people will still come if they have to go to two seperate places? Or should we just nix the whole cake/presents and hand out goodie bags when it's time to leave the pool? I need ideas ladies!!!! (and Tom :) )

I say just have the pool part. and then sometimes pools sell ice cream out fo those vending type machines. give them each a $1 and let them choose! It may be cheeper!

Did anybody else go to the Warehouse Sale @ Hancock's today (it runs through Sunday I believe). I had forgotten that they were having it today but had planned to go just to scope out fabric for future purchases. Imagine my surprise when things that I had already been scoping out were on sale!!!! Woohoo -- I love a good sale! I spent $36.00 and got lots of great stuff!!!

mine is an hour away so I could not go!

Oh no, I am so very very sorry. Such a horrible tragedy.

I had a pretty good sewing day yesterday. I finally finished an Ariel top for Lily! And I didn't use any of the bunch of Ariel fabrics I already have. I went and bought new stuff! If you ever have "sewers block" just start over with all new fabric! :thumbsup2

sorry about the red eye :scared1: pet peeve! But I couldn't get it to "fix" :headache:

I decided just to use Ariel's tail for the back side of the shirt. I cut out a Flounder to applique on the back, but now I think I'm going to make some matching capris and put Flounder on those.

And here is another dress I made (thanks mytwotinks for the flower help!) I love it, but unfortunately it is not for Lily. I say I had a good sewing day because I made this WITH NO MISTAKES! Which is fortunate because it is for my neighbor's boutique. ;) And I must say seersucker is much easier to ruffle! :cheer2:

Sorry they are sideways and huge. I rotated and resized them. I don't know what is the problem with photbucket today, but I was having problems with the photos on my TR too :confused3 :headache:
I lost this quote when I replied earlier! I really love the way you put the tail on the back of the shirt! And that little pink dress is adorable!

troijka- great outfits we are NOT sick of seeing those cuties- We want to see the rest of your 28 outfits!!!

From 11pm- 3am is my peak sewing hours

Sugarbees- :grouphug: So Sorry to hear that
:sad2: It is a lot of responsibility to drive.
There was just a school bus accident here in MN this week- 4 school children have died- 2 were brothers. I guy with out a drivers license ran a stop sign hit the bus broad side and it tipped over onto a truck.

Jham- Lilys mermaid outfit is cute I bought that panel it was on clearance and I didn't know what to do with it- It's way down on the list right now though... lol AND how did you do the back of the pink one, is there a zipper or buttons??

I was at Hancocks yesterday but I couldn't look around- just in and out real quick- What kind of stuff was in the BIG SALE??? Should I go back???

Ok gotta finish those outfits for the boys for tomorrow night- wish me luck
For no screw ups!!! :confused3

That is cute! I really like how you used her fins in the back, too. It adds a fun element from both angles.

BTW - I "tweaked" your photo a bit to help her eyes sparkle more than glow ;)

I don't make many boys' items so I thought I better share one I did do not long ago - nothing fancy but definitely fun.

My husband and I were just talking about that! It was on his msn page or some other news page...SO sad! :sad2:

That is cute. I have to ask though, Did you take the t-shirt apart to do the applique? I am working on a t-shirt for DD and am having trouble with turning the shirt. I'm thinking about taking it apart at the side seams, but I'm not sure how it will look after it has been put back together.

This is so very sad. I'm so sorry. What a tragedy. Going to hug my baby girl right now, and reminding myself to hug my DS as soon as he's home from school.

I thought I'd mention - for those that have been looking for a tutorial for applique that includes pics - Lisa has posted one that uses pics of the adorable dino that she posted here. I think the pics may actually start on page 2. Here's a link!

Good morning everyone! Just wanted to share a few things that I have been working on.

This is for my 2 yo ds...I still have to do the buttons/buttonholes.... dh says this is for when he goes meet McQueen and Mater at Hollywood Studios.
IMG_3852p.jpg

The next two are for my dd -
For character lunch at Hollywood & Vine. I made ds a pair of shorts with the same material and am thinking about doing an applique t-shirt for him.

For dd..and I am thinking to wear to Tusker House for breakfast. I had some trouble with the pants for this outfit..took me a while to figure out the front waistband - it has elastic on the back, but not on the front. I still have to do the buttons on this one as well. Do you think I should add anything to this outfit, or just leave it as is?

I am working on a few more things right now, and will post them when I am done. What else do you make for boys other than button down shirts, shorts and applique t-shirts? I don't really enjoy making those button down shirts...

I'm so glad you used the fin for the back. I was wondering how that would look. I like it so you'll probably be seeing another like it soon. ;)

I LOVE that pink dress. Too cute with the flower. I agree about the seersucker...wonderful summer fabric.

This is a peasant top. There is a tutorial for one in the bookmarks. It's a pretty good one.

Love the Cars shirt!!! The LE dress is adorable!! And the little sailor outfit!!! So cute! I'm thinking the sailor could use a little ric rack or something, but it looks good the way it is too. I think everything looks better with a little ricky racky! :thumbsup2
