VERY impressive numbers! I'd love to be in a single digit size

...

Daily Points Target:

If you weigh Less than 150 = you get 20 points
150-174 =22 points
175-199 =24 points
200-224 = 26 points
225-249 =28 points
250-274= 30 points

I don't look good in bermudas or tight "pedal pusher" type pants because I'm a pear shape.. Trouser cut shorts, capris, and pants do look ok on me.

You know, I am the complete opposite. I looked at LMO's numbers, and I measured this morning... am a 32" waist and a 39" hip. Which, is down from the 34" and 41.5" of January, so that is 4.5" gone. However, it just reinforces how much of a freakin' apple I am...

LMO, you kick butt. I would love to be in single digit sizes too, but an 8 is about as low as I have ever been. My goal is an 8/10.

Okay, question. Has anyone here ever had an ulcer? What are the symptoms?

Just wanted to take a moment during marathon housecleaning day and say Hi! I have never attempted to "multi-quote" so I can't go back right now and respond to everyone's posts, but I want every one to know I have read everything.

So many cute puppies! I am NOT a dog lover, but I have always loved a cute beagle.

Wonders10.... congratulations! Good luck with your career.

Disneyfreak92.... Great job making to "one-derland". Keep going! I saw a number in the "tens" place on the scale that I hadn't seen in a LOOOOONG time (almost 10 years!) and I am DETERMINED not to EVER see anything higher there. Thank GOODNESS I have you Peep folks to help keep me motivated. I hope we are helping to keep you motivated as well.

Kat.... are you thinking you have an ulcer?? Hope you are feeling okay. No help from me about the symptoms, but I will keep you in my prayers.

UM, how goes the battle with DP and TMJ? I had pretty severe TMJ problems in my teens and 20's, but fortunately I haven't had trouble in about 20 years.

Congratulations to many of you on good losses last week! Keep up the good work........................P

A gnawing or burning pain in the abdomen between the breastbone and the navel. The pain is usually worse a couple of hours after a meal or in the middle of the night when the stomach is empty.

Nausea

Vomiting

Loss of appetite

Loss of weight

Tiredness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer)

Weakness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer)

Blood in vomit or stool. When blood is in the stool, it appears tarry or black (symptom of a bleeding ulcer).

These are not fun. DH had one due to using to much Advil.

His was very bad and at the worst, included vomiting up traces of blood, and bile.

Hi Peeps,

I wish I had time to reply to everyone but work is c%^p. I have read everyone's posts and am applauding all of your successes and sending PD to those who need it. There were some seriously big losers this week and I am super happy for each of you. I am not posting gains/losses this month but will be here cheering you on. I will be back on board in May.

:grouphug: Kim

I am thinking maybe... but I wasn't really sure what the symptoms were. Thanks for the support!

I just have the gnawing pain. It is sort of below the ribcage, and goes all down through the lower abs. It started on Friday night. It might also be a pulled ab muscle, since I started some lower ab work last week.

I have obviously lost weight, but I think that is the 1200 cal diet!

Speaking of which, I saw an old coworker today and his comment was, you are looking SKINNY, and told me I looked fanstastic. So that was a nice thing. :)

i went to the gym this morning and we were doing knee repeaters on a stacked bench and i rolled my ankle. :headache: at first i thought i had done something really bad and the first thing i thought was, "oh, god.....no....not now! i leave for disney in 12 days!!!!" but i think it's okay. it's gonna be sore for a few days. i also hit my shin really hard on the bench so i'm gonna have a beautiful big bruise right in the middle of the front of my lower leg. nice for pictures at disney, huh? i hope it goes away by then.

So far i have had 2 slices of this AWESOME NEW FIBER ONE CINN. RAISIN TOAST..it is fantastic and only 140 cals, 1.5 grams of fat and....8 GRAMS OF FIBER! a little spray butter and there ya go..Yummy 2 pt breakfast. i HIGHLY reccomend!

sounds good! i love fiber one stuff and cinnamon and raisins rock. did you get it in the bread section of the grocery store?

I don't look good in bermudas or tight "pedal pusher" type pants because I'm a pear shape.. Trouser cut shorts, capris, and pants do look ok on me.

i'm such a pear, too. i inherited that from my mom. our family tree yielded pears.

kat - hopefully it's just a pulled muscle and will go away in a few days.

oooh noooo!!! i hope your ankle feels better!
and yes, the fiber one bread was in the reg. bread aisle at Stop n' Shop. They had other new breads too..but this one was most intriguing to me ;)

I'm sorry Peeps, but I don't think I'm going to be posting on the DIS anymore, at least not anytime soon. I just get harassed all the time, and I'm sick of it.

So I went clothes shopping this weekend (Kohl's had their usual sale prices, plus my wife had a 30% off thing from the catalog that she received in the mail). I needed to get work clothes, because my khaki pants were looking like M.C. Hammer pants (and yes, I understand that I am REALLY dating myself with that reference) - hanging way too low and doing absolutely NOTHING for my butt, and 1/2 of my polo shirts are impossible to tuck in properly because there is just way too much material to tuck nicely. So I got two pair of pants and three polo shirts. But the main reason I'm mentioning this is because the pants were all 34 waist and the shirts were larges. I went through my closet Sunday afternoon to get rid of the clothes that don't fit, and the pants were all 38's and the shirts ranged from XL to XXL! I tried a few on, and I couldn't believe how huge they were. So after having a few rough weeks on the scale, it was nice to get that validation.

All right, here's the Cinco de Mayo update. I skimmed through the last few pages, so hopefully I didn't miss anybody. Let me know if I did...

Holy Cow!!! Don't you love it? I'm really happy for you.

The pants doing NOTHING for your butt comment cracked me UP! :rotfl2: "Honey? Do these pants do anything for my butt?" I would pay good money to hear my DH say that :lmao:

Hey, since I've already met my goal for the challenge, would you change my goal from -5 to -16? (trust me...)

My marriage has gone from "blah" to "WOW" which has been working wonders for the diet :confused3 :rolleyes1

Geesh, you wake up early and accomplish much! Good example to me.

Ive got a few days off work so it was nailed on that I would wake up early when I didn't need to!:rotfl: I did manage another 25 minutes, and I feel great for it!

Oh no! There isn't a day goes by that I dont walk into something, so most of my holiday pictures have me hiding my legs behind something!

took me awhile to find you all

hi all....

I just like to apologize with my disapperance. Its been a rough 2008 so far
DH was bouncing around between jobs and me in school. I was tryin to make ends meet as much as possible and still keep Aniella's hopes of Disney a float. I was doing lots of projects for designing to earn some extra cash.

I ended up putting on 5lbs that im tryin to work off feverishly.

I would stare at my peep bracelet and think of you all but never got around to being able to come on the boards to even talk. I already posted on the recipe board that I have the books and will be mailing them with Dh next check.. I'll even post the DC # so whoever gets it next has it.

Im really sorry ladies and I hope you find it in your hearts to forgive me for the MIA and delays.

Ouch! You can just hide that leg behind your hubby for pictures.

Yeah. Doesn't it feel good. I know when I went down just a pant size I was smiling like the Cheshire Cat in the dressing room. I can't imagine that many sizes, at least for now. Good job Aaron.

Since we keep posting on fruit body shapes, I'm a cantelope :lmao: right now but when I'm thinner I'm probably more pear too.

Welcome back. No need for forgiveness, life sometimes gets in the way of DISing, it's wrong but it does.

No- I'm not taking insulin yet- and I really don't want to start into it either. I'm hoping with this new Dr. I can get things back to normal. This is the absolute hardest thing I have ever had to deal with in my life! It is terribly discouraging for me- and seems to be all I think about lately... and I hate it.

If there is anyone out there on this thread that is pre-diabetic- TAKE CARE OF IT NOW!!! You will not regret it- I promise!!

Recent stat: 41 million people in the U.S. have prediabetes. You are 100% correct about taking care of it now. Type 2 diabetes can be prevented or at least delayed by maintaining weight control through diet & exercise.

Ok - he is TOO CUTE!!!!!

Well, Peeps I have good news to report - I passed my internship! So I am officially finished with grad school and once all the paperwork is signed, etc I will be an official speech-language pathologist! Soooo relieved and excited. next up is having some forms signed, getting my state license application in and following up with a potential job offer for the coming school year. I feel like 100 lbs have been lifted off my back now that I am finished. Can I report that as weight lost for the week? ;)

Now I am getting last minute things planned for our cruise (leaving next Sunday) and I also have a mini disney weekend in may to look forward to. Now that I'm finished with school, I really hope to spend more time with the peeps and the boards in general.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! :goodvibes

Congratulations!!!! :cool1: :yay: Have a great time on your cruise. :)

Congratulations Lynda on your weight loss. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Have a wonderful day everyone!

CONGRATS TO YOU AARON That is so exciting when you shrink so much that you have to give away and get rid of old clothes isn't it?? WOW!!! I am sooooo looking forward to the day when that happens to me too!

Well everybody, I went to the Endocronolgist today. He told me he thinks I should go on insulin in the evenings just before bed so my numbers will come down in the a.m., but then, after he saw the look on my face he said..."Or we could try something else." SO- here's the plan for the next 4 months....

WEIGHT WATCHERS and that's that. He said weight watchers is the best program for people like me. He said I could do either the core program or the flex program, whichever one I wanted- and then after 4 months of trying with this program, if it didn't work, we'd do the insulin thing. He actually made me cry (and boy was I embarrassed) because he was so nice in the way that he explained what was happening with my body- and that my high blood sugar numbers in the mornings were not a result of what I was eating or doing. It is just how my body is metabolizing things because of the diabetes. I can't tell you how hard I have tried to get this under control, thinking I was inept at it and feeling completely and totally overwhelmed with the whole thing. And then he said it wasn't because of me. It was such a relief to know that I was doing everything right- my body just isn't in a place to accept what I give it.

SO now it's off to WW and walking. I need your prayers and your help peeps! The last thing I want to do is go on insulin. If this works for the next 4 months it might be enough to push my body to the point of not needing it.

So- who's doing WW and what can you tell me about it?? What's the core vs. flex program? Which do you do, why and how's it workin' for ya???

So- who's doing WW and what can you tell me about it?? What's the core vs. flex program? Which do you do, why and how's it workin' for ya???

My midwife also told me to do WW's for the weight thing. I do flex, every food has a point valve so you can eat anything you want within reason of course. You go by the number of points you can have per day. Are you going somewhere. I think that would be good for you to go to a meeting and learn about the program. You can totally do this. I lost 18 lb last spring. I personlly need to lose about 150 lb before goal weight so it's a little discouraging when everyone around has only 20-30 lb to lose but coming here and talking to my peeps helps more than the meetings because I feel I have something in common with you besides my weight issues.

Hope that helps. You can do this. I was prediabetic before I got pregnant with my third child. I had gestational diabetes with her and was put on a diet plus I was taking a pill. My sugar issue was in the morning too. So far no sugar problems as of yet but that doesn't mean if I don't get the weight off it won't be. My grandmother had diabetes so it's in my family genes. I'm trying real hard this time. I want to be healthy for my husband and children. Oh dear I'm rambling. Pm me if you have any questions about WW

Laura:flower3:

ok guys...I hope I am welcomed back!! I had my baby on 3/13 and now have a ton of weight to lose!!! :scared1: I definitely "ate for two" but don't have any regrets...I enjoyed all the fast food!! :rotfl: So I have about 25 pds. to lose to get back to where I was....at the time I was 8 pds. away from my goal weight so I guess I really have 33 pds to lose. DH and I want to try for another baby around Xmas but I have to get the weight back off first.

Anyway, I hope you guys aren't too mad I went MIA for 9 months!! I have already lost 2 pds in my first week back on my diet. I was surprised how easy it was to jump back on it..although I was a bit crabby a few days!! ;)
