I have to share... I have had the *worst* few weeks, but something good actually happened today. I have been really down because I feel like I have fallen off the wagon and am letting the lbs creep back on... I like my haircut but I miss some of the length.. work is killing me... home is a shambles...

Anyhow, one of my coworkers was heading out and stopped and was like wow, you are really looking stylish lately! New haircut, all that weight lost... This is a rather distracted male coworker that I am friendly with but don't really talk to that often, so for him to notice, man, he made my night!

Hope everyone has a great and skinny day tomorrow!

GOOD MORNING!!! :sunny:

I've caught up reading but forgot most of my replies. Which is why I should multi-quote but I've been too lazy of late.

KIM! Welcome back! Ballet! That's Grrrrreat! Are ya sore? I would be. JUST SO EVERYBODY KNOWS...I think Kim is always lurking out there! All you have to do is mention her name and she'll chime in. Am I right, Kim? ;)

KAT....Great about the compliment! Think how many other distracted co-workers have noticed and just haven't said anything! Don't you work with a lot of guys? Nuff said.

DAWN....I think Transformers will be DS and my Friday night movie this week! We thoroughly enjoyed Evan Almighty last week. I think DS watched it about 5 times. :rolleyes1 Anyway we love Shia LeBoef (?). Have you ever seen Holes? He's in that and it's a reallllly good story.

Danielle
...When's your sister's surgery?

Heather....Any word on Christi?

Lynda
....Those crab cakes sound goooood! I wish my DH cooked!? :upsidedow

Shannon! Good idea!

Top three good foods:

1. spinach-in-a-bag...It's an easy to dump out of the bag as say....chips! And like Kat said, it makes a lean cuisine seem like a meal.
2. Kraft Lite Three Cheese Ranch....my new dressing, mayo, mustard, sour cream....everything sauce-dip-thingy.
3. Fiber One....filling and 1/2 cup gives you 14 grams of fiber and with 1/2 cup of skim milk it's only 100 calories. I swear it EXPANDS in your stomach and makes you feel full.

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Ka-plunk ! ...that's just me climbing back on the peep wagon. Hi peeps...let me reintroduce myself...My name is Kim and I live in Montreal, Quebec. I was posting a lot last winter but have turned into a bit of a lurker .

I would love to join the Thanksgiving challenge...Aaron, put me down for 5 pounds..I am cheating a bit because Canadian thanksgiving was last week. :confused3 oh well...I celebrate all holidays!

I am home full time and fill my day taking care of my DD 7 (Lauren) and DS5 (Matthew). I am very involved with our school and volunteer quite a lot.

OK...guess what I started 2 weeks ago ???? BALLET, I swear, no joke ! I have not danced in 25 years but I just started and I LOVE it. It is such a great work out. All the "girls" in my class are between 17-24...I am a tad bit older at almost 38 ! Hey, you are only as old as you feel right ??? :confused3 Anyways...my leotard and skirt would look a whole lot better if I was a teeny tiny bit smaller.

So...I am pulling up a chair and I will jump right in !:surfweb:

Wendy: I was sooo excited to see your new trip report...I love your writing style...I secretly believe that you are really Janet Evanovich.

Melinda: I love your new siggy picture ! I am a "glow cube" kinda girl too.

Linda: The pictures in you TR are amazing...you are really talented. I am also going to Disneyland for the first time. We are going to Arizona in Feb/March and I am surprising the kids with a side trip to "the land".

Punkin: I feel like I already know you...you seem super perky ! Your job must be so interesting. I bet you have heard just about everything :rolleyes1 .

Well...so nice to meet you all and I can't wait to get to know everyone a little better.

Kim

Kim! Wow! This is very weird. I was thinking about you this morning and wondering where you were. I think of you as the peep from Montreal who wrote in Frence with me a bot last winter! I was going to go back and find your old posts to get your screen name and PM you and Voila! Here you are. Welcome back! I took the summer off (unintentionally) and just came back too!

Although I was good and bought a 12-pk of diet mug root beer this weekend. And it's caffeine free!

I get the 'Cola Craving' and the world might as well end. I like root beer well enough and have heard that the diet kind tastes just as good as the real thing (as is the case with ginger ale, which also works in a pinch). I should try that. I gave up soda a while back but I always need something like this, 'just in case'.

the craziest thing i've ever sat through was a 2-day deposition of a woman who had knowingly slept (and i'm not using the word "slept" as in sharing a bed, but as in had relations) with her biological father while on vacation. :scared1:

I have no words. Just. EW. :crazy2: :faint:

The first crab cakes (Kona) will be in the next part of my TR.

I keep wanting to read your trippie(s). Mental note. As soon as I'm done with this response. Get a-subscribin'.

Kim, I was a dancer from age 3 to age 11. I gave it up because I was 'tired' of ballet (I also did tap and jazz). Oh how I'm kicking myself in the butt now. Are you/will you be doing pointe?

I would love to get back into it but haven't been able to find anywhere in my area with adultish classes. It's all little ones. Also, right now, leotards would be the devil!!! However, after the BF's shoulder surgery at the end of the month, we're probably going to sign up for Latin dance lessons over the winter session at our local CC.

Good luck and welcome back. :flower3:

have you guys seen the transformers movie?

LOVED IT. I keep seeing the commercials for the DVD on TV and telling the BF we need to pick it up.

And I hope your little Shermie is ok. Does he have seizures often?

top 3 "good for you foods"

I have 4.

1. Motts 'tots' juice boxes: I love me some juice. Especially apple juice. These juice boxes have 40% less sugar and while they definitely taste a little 'watered down', they satisfy the craving.
2. Fat Free cream cheese: This saves me in the morning. For whatever reason, at breakfast I always crave something sweet and salty. This takes care of the salty part and the sweet part is usually an Eggo Whole Wheat Blueberry waffle or a Thomas' Honey Wheat or Oatmeal & Honey english muffin.
3. Sargento Light String Cheese: This actually satisfies the cheese craving for the day. It really does. I love mozarella and this tastes pretty good. I also use the Kraft 2% Singles. I know it has more fat/cal. than the Skim ones, but the Skim ones taste so fake to me. And besides, you're supposed to have some fat in your diet. This is mine. Yay.
4. Lite n' Fit yogurts: Especially in raspberry and blackberry. They're only 60 calories (or 45 for the smaller ones) and they are sooooo good. Plus, I'm one of those people that has a 'thing' about chunky fruit yogurt, and these two flavors are smooth and fruit-on-the-bottom-less.

This is a rather distracted male coworker that I am friendly with but don't really talk to that often, so for him to notice, man, he made my night!

Isn't that a great feeling?! Now, just imagine all of the people who are thinking the same thing but not saying anything (and I'm sure there are lots).

This is for you - :flower3: . I hope your week gets better.

Morning to all of the peeps out there. I second HockeyKat's sentiment of a skinny day. I, personally, am not feeling it, but that's ok. There's always tomorrow. I have also decided that after this weekend's birthday-eat-a-thon, I'm going to hold off on weighing myself until Friday (usually I do it every day). I'll also update my tickers then. Hopefully it's not too bad. I'm hoping for a negative, but am expecting to stay the same or even go up a little.

It's a high stress week and I know that if I see the number climb early on in the week, I'll likely try to cope with my disappointment with food.

Vicious, vicious cycle, that is.

Welcome back!!

I am a former dancer myself, and I still teach dance part tiem to preschoolers but I really miss dancing for me. Thankfully we dont have to wear leotards or I might die or embarassment. I keep telling myself I need to find an adult class near me, so you have insipered me to actually do it once I have this baby!!

I have to share... I have had the *worst* few weeks, but something good actually happened today. I have been really down because I feel like I have fallen off the wagon and am letting the lbs creep back on... I like my haircut but I miss some of the length.. work is killing me... home is a shambles...

Hope everyone has a great and skinny day tomorrow!
That is such an awesome compliment comign for a male, any male. They are usually not observant about our girly stuff like hair and losing weight, so that was HUGE that he noticed. Woohooty!

that's so great! :thumbsup2 i hope everything starts getting better soon. it seems like when we get home from vacation we're immediately reminded why we needed one in the first place!

i have not been able to sleep this last week:woohoo: i wonder why :confused3 every time i hit the pillow i play in my mind more things to do for our trip in 4 or 3 days oh yea 3 days.:cheer2:

how exciting!!!! hope you guys have a wonderful time! and remember: go with the flow. don't overplan. just have fun and relax and BE ON VACATION!!!! sometimes people forget that when going to disney!

DAWN....I think Transformers will be DS and my Friday night movie this week! We thoroughly enjoyed Evan Almighty last week. I think DS watched it about 5 times. :rolleyes1 Anyway we love Shia LeBoef (?). Have you ever seen Holes? He's in that and it's a reallllly good story.

if you're talking about the kid that's sort of the main character (his grandfather discovered megatron), then yes, i love him, too! what a great actor! i haven't seen holes. may have to rent that one soon though!

And I hope your little Shermie is ok. Does he have seizures often?

he has them about 4 times a year. in case you don't know, sherman is my dog, not my son! anyway, he's on phenobarbital for his seizures but he still has breakthrough episodes every now and then. we just have to hold him so he doesn't hurt himself and kind of comfort him through it. then when he's done he's all clumsy and disoriented for a few minutes. i know this is mean, but you can't help but laugh at him when he tries to walk because he always runs into things. :guilty: then once he's normal again i have to give him some ice cream to get his blood sugar level back to normal. i think he likes that part! ;)

Wish me luck peeps....I have my 20 week sonogram today. I will know in a few short hours if I am having a girl or boy peeplet!

LUCK! :goodvibes

speaking of preggo peeps....WHERE IS TARA??? check in, girl! i haven't heard from you lately. how is the growing belly looking? feeling okay? inquiring peeps want to know!!!

WOOHOOOOO! That would make my day. WAY TO GO!!!
GOOD MORNING!!! :sunny:

I've caught up reading but forgot most of my replies. Which is why I should multi-quote but I've been too lazy of late.

Heather....Any word on Christi?

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT DAY!

CHRISTI--she is in a room and I think they have or are going to remove the feeding tube. Her family is having to make a lot of critical decisions---considering a NANNY for the kids---and they also must decide on rehab stuff--not really sure about that. Our kids go to the same daycare so i see her DH a good bit, but lately when I see him he already has the kids and I don;t want to discuss anything in front of them. They have not seen or spoken to their mommy since Oct. 1 and even the 3 days prior to that she was out of it because of the headache. I should get a new update today and I will let you guys know.

I NEED YOUR IDEAS!!!! Between all of my kids they have a total of 15 teachers. I want to do something different for CHRISTmas this year. I typically will bake home made goodies and send that. Last year I did cookies, cracker candy, choc. covered pretzels, pep. mint bark, oreo bark, and choc. covered popcorn.---YES ALL HOMEMADE!! I was thinking about doing the 12 days of Christmas. I need ideas on what to do--like day one I would send 1 item, day 2-- 2 item on day 12 I was going to send like a dozen cookies or something. Just wanted it to be a little different. Please help with ideas.

Top 3 for me:

1.Crystal Lite (Walmart brand) makes me feel like I'm actually drinking water
2.Eggs in a carton...I feel fuller much longer with protein, and these are great!
3.Broccoli- I dare you to eat a big ol plate of broccoli for dinner and NOT lose weight!

and what self respecting list of 3 would be complete without a #4?:

4. Lean Cuisine and Weight Watchers and Kashi meals for when I'm lazy!
4 b. Pooh muffins and Colon Blow Thursday Night!

I just have to  at this because I used to hate hate hate root beer, but the other day I actually had a craving for it. I was being naughty so I got regular, not diet, and now I am obsessed with it and want to drink it all the time! Although I was good and bought a 12-pk of diet mug root beer this weekend. And it's caffeine free!
That is funny..i had a friend that HATED it for years too and now she likes it..must be in style now ;)

have you guys seen the transformers movie? DH bought it today and he's watching it while i'm sitting here on the couch trying to proofread and i can't stop watching it! i usually don't get into movies like that but this one is pretty good! and it's causing me to not get any work done. on top of that shermie had a seizure a few minutes ago and so that took about 15 minutes to deal with. i'm not getting any work done.....i'm on page 9......of 102! :rolleyes1
Greg is picking up that movie tonight..i can't wait to see it! Also..poor little shermie! :(

Here's the link to the recipe for the crab cakes. DH just made the mango peach salsa - no recipe. He grated up 1 mango, 1 peach, and cored, seeded, and minced 1 jalepeno pepper, and mixed it all together. YUM!
Thank you!!! I can't wait to try them!

WOW! you are a busy woman come holiday time! I have a hard enough time just getting cards out to everyone!!!..that 12 days of christmas thing is super cute..but you do realize that on day 12 you will have to give out 15 dozen cookies..HOLY MOLY!!!

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Thanks! Yes, I do work with a lot of guys...

And I forgot the Lite Three Cheese Ranch... that is an INTEGRAL part of my ability to choke down that plate of salad. That and a Tbsp of 50% reduced fat bacon pieces (25 cals).

Isn't that a great feeling?! Now, just imagine all of the people who are thinking the same thing but not saying anything (and I'm sure there are lots).

This is for you - :flower3: . I hope your week gets better.

Vicious, vicious cycle, that is.

I am not feeling it either but really trying... have been weighing myself all week and shouldn't after my weekend (which was just an eat-a-thon, no birthday excuse). I hear you on the vicious cycle!! If it were for you all I think it would be so much harder to stick to it even when life is crowding at the the door.

That is such an awesome compliment comign for a male, any male. They are usually not observant about our girly stuff like hair and losing weight, so that was HUGE that he noticed. Woohooty!

In case I forget...ahve a great time in DL! I love it there :cloud9:

Wish me luck peeps....I have my 20 week sonogram today. I will know in a few short hours if I am having a girl or boy peeplet!

Thanks! Yes, men almost always either don't notice or don't comment (sexual harassment and all that).

Good luck!! Hope that he or she is healthy and that you find out what you want to on the gender!

Wish me luck peeps....I have my 20 week sonogram today. I will know in a few short hours if I am having a girl or boy peeplet!

Woohoo! Good luck! Can't wait to hear if you're having a peepleta or a peepleto. (And yes, I just made up the Spanish word for peeplet.)

he has them about 4 times a year. in case you don't know, sherman is my dog, not my son! anyway, he's on phenobarbital for his seizures but he still has breakthrough episodes every now and then. we just have to hold him so he doesn't hurt himself and kind of comfort him through it. then when he's done he's all clumsy and disoriented for a few minutes. i know this is mean, but you can't help but laugh at him when he tries to walk because he always runs into things. :guilty: then once he's normal again i have to give him some ice cream to get his blood sugar level back to normal. i think he likes that part! ;)

I think I knew (somehow) that he was the furry kind of kid, but certainly worth no less concern. We only have 'furry' kids too.

And I don't think laughing is mean. I think sometimes you have to try to find the 'light' in situations like that. Even though you know they could/will happen, I bet it's still stressful and scary.

And I'm sure Shermie doesn't mind the laughter so much...what with the ice cream regimen and all.

CHRISTI--she is in a room and I think they have or are going to remove the feeding tube. Her family is having to make a lot of critical decisions---considering a NANNY for the kids---and they also must decide on rehab stuff--not really sure about that. My prayers for Christi and her family.

Oh, and I somehow missed it yesterday...you know, despite all the other totally flashy posts:sad2: (I mean really, how clueless am I this week?), but Happy (Belated) Birthday Noni! We Librans need to stick together, seeing as how indecisive we are about everything. :upsidedow

I swear I quoted someone, and it didn't show up, and I don't remember what it was about!

Well, thanks to those who said they'd be reading my trippie. (That wasn't what I quoted.)

Hope you all enjoy the recipes. I am lucky that DH likes to cook. I just can't get motivated to do it. I have a difficulty finding the time to do all the things I'd like to do. Cooking is one of those things DH is happy to take the time to do - on the nights he's home anyway. (That wasn't what I quoted either.)

And finally my 3 favorite "good for you" food staples...

Apples & reduced fat peanut butter (filling & YUMMY!)

Salad from the bag with dried craisins or cherries, gorganzola crumbles, sliced almonds, & balsamic breeze Salad Spritzer (It's a great dinner when I'm lazy, and I actually LOVE salad!)

Light Activia yogurt (I have it with my Fiber One in the morning and as a snack sometimes.)

I also really like 100 calorie pack microwave kettle corn, McDonald's Asian and Southwestern salads, and Boca burgers. (This was still not what I quoted, but I give up on trying to remember at this point. )

Hi Peeps!

First, thanks for your top 3's (and 4's and 5's). Keep 'em coming!

Second, I have been calling Disney for about 3 weeks trying to find a different resort for our December trip besides the Beach Club. It's a beautiful resort and I really wanted to stay there but it just wasn't where I really really wanted to stay. So on a whim, I called this morning and they had the Poly garden view available! And I still get the dining card special that came with my BC ressie ($75 in dining on a little card thing)! To say I was excited is a huge understatement! The Poly is my most favorite resort. I just love everything about it. Anyway, just wanted to share my excitement with someone who would maybe appreciate it more than my mom did when I called her to tell her the good news. I got silence followed by an  "oh". But she's excited now too.

Hope everyone has a great day! Wednesdays are my long days and I'm off to work!

I figure i will share my Good-Dooby snacks as well :goodvibes

1, Sarento light string cheese..For only 70 calories i think its a great source of protein and calcium and it really helps stave off hunger pains between meals!
2. H2O...on the days i do not drink enough, i def. can tell! i eat more, my body feels sluggish..i.e. not a good thing.
3. its not so much an item, but i PORTION OUT everything. I count, weigh or divide my servings so i do not overeat..i can't be trusted with the dipping my hand into a candy bowl or a chip bag thing! I will certainly come up with a bulging fist of treats!

No, but I've been itching to see it. I used to love the cartoon as a kid; I had to go out and buy all of the old cartoons on DVD and I've since watched them all 1/2 dozen times. So I'm looking forward to seeing it.

wow.....good memory! yeah...he was so excited about the movie coming out. i asked him if this movie had the cobra commander in it and he got really irritated and told me that was from G.I. Joe. :lmao:
I'm so jealous! I have an original Optimus Prime action figure from when I was kid on my filing cabinet in my office at work watching over me. No one has snuck up behind me and attacked me yet, so I figure he's doing his job.

Oh yeah, my top 3 healthy snacks:

#1 - Baby carrots. I absolutely love these things. I can sit with a bag of them and polish off 1/2 of it in a sitting. Plus, my dog loves them too!

#2 - Popcorn. Either air popped with a little Smart Balance spray; or the 100 calorie Orville Redenbacher's microwave pouches.

#3 - Those Hostess 100 Calorie snack cake packs. You get three little cakes in a pack, which helps to satisfy my always screaming sweet tooth.

And my bonus snack that most people don't like - Brussels sprouts. I don't care for most green veggies, but I just love sprouts. Only I eat them with lemon juice (the way my mom always prepared them for me) instead of butter. Yummy!
