Singing Mua, Welcome back!! I am sorry to hear you injured yourself! That is something I would do. I hope you are feeling better soon and won't need the hoover round (aka ECV, I don't know why my DH calls it the hoover round). :confused3

MaPigletfan, the weather people are calling for a 1-2 inch accumulation. I will take it!! I hope our VT trip pans out.

MJ, Thanks for the b-day wishes. I wish you nothing but sunshine and clear roads...:wizard:

for my TR!!! I have the first installment up!
Can't wait to see you all there!!!

DISNEYLAURA: Good for you for stopping at 4 cookies!

That is the hardest part for me. My thought process is usually not so controlled, if I find myself cheating, I have a hard time not going "whole hog" so to speak, like, "well... if I'm cheating anyway, I won't be eating this kind of food again for a long while, I've got to make it worth it, let's eat a little (ok, a lot) of everything I've been avoiding!" Then there goes the kitchen. It was really hard for me to give up my "cheat days". It seemed that when I started the Carbohydrate binges, they would fuel some wicked cravings, making it extremely hard to stop. Reading some "dieting" books really helped. Especially South Beach. I never knew that your body could really crave sugar for a variety of reasons. (not just AF) It's easier for me to mainly eat a lower carb diet, and try to get more "plant" food in. I have found that while trying Atkins (very hard to stick to) that I dropped alot of weight, but had little energy and then whenever I ate carbs, I gained it back QUICKLY. I think it just takes alot of tinkering around to figure out the right methods that work for yourself.
All that being said, I am still trying to fight off these darn 2-3 pounds from Thanksgiving. It was a little more, but certain things were an added factor. Dieting during the Holidays is HARD!!!

Oh, I am sooooooo with you. I am the kind of person that sees the world in black and white. I am either dieting or eating like complete crap (i.e. everything in sight, with that "... if I am cheating anyway" mentality). I know that this is the absolute worst way to be, that it shouldn't be a diet and should be a "lifestyle", but that doesn't stop me somehow.

And about your DD... I don't have children, so I can't relate, but I am sending a  your way anyhow.

This is the 2nd day that I have managed to at least somewhat eat well, and I did go to the gym at lunch again. I wasn't going to, but I am really glad I did. I was very stressed and ticked off at work, and the 30 min on the elliptical plus the time away from here made me feel MUCH better.

Hope everyone is having a skinny day!

MRnsmommy: You need to just relax. Are you doing the driving? Then you call the shots when you need to leave. Just say, it would work better for us to leave on such and such day and since we are driving be ready.
Yes, we are doing the driving, but I didn't really care one way or another when we were leaving...Friday or Saturday would've been fine...but it's the going back and forth that drove me crazy. We finally did decide that we are DEFINITELY leaving on Saturday now, though...no more changes! Thank God!

Anyway gotta go get weighed in at WW today. Wish me luck.
Good Luck!

MRN's Mommy, how did you do getting that huge list of errands done? Just think you will be in WDW in no time at all!:cheer2:

Still working on the to-do list, unfortunately...but yeah, I just keep reminding myself that soon enough we will be in WDW!!!

born2bird - Happy Birthday to you and I hope you get some snow. My mom said last year when his other coach was a jerk that these are men that couldn't make it on the high school basketball team so they are living it through the kids. There is one coach on the league that is so wonderful that it's hard to believe that this guy is that nice. Ours on the otherhand:mad:

Hi Peeps, :wave2: I know I have been MIA for a while, but I had to travel for work last week, and spent the week in NYC!! Which WOULD have been exciting except for the fact that I came back.............. on crutches!!!

So sorry you got hurt on your trip. Feel better and hobble around the world;)

MRNsMommy Thanks for the luck, I stayed the same so I was happy but shh don't say anything I will report that on Friday.

But I do have so wonderful news to share with my peeps. I went to Sears today with my mom and she happen to say to me "Laura let's look at the Land's End pants" and I said "Mom, I am not spending $34 for a pair of pants that won't fit me next year because I am dieting" and she said "those pants you are wearing look disgusting" Anyway I went into the dressing room with my current size and a size lower and guess what -------- I lost a pant size :yay: . I was so excited I walked out of the dressing room and said "mom do these ok or should I try the other size" and she said "no those look great" I am so happy I could spit. Anyway going to bed in a few minutes, so tired. See everyone tomorrow.

Laura :flower3:

I am a mess this morning! We leave for DW in 4 or 5 days, depending on my ILs! We were supposed to be leaving early Sat. morning. Our official time in Disney is the 9-14, but we are stopping in Alabama to visit my DH's sister and her family first. But the ILs can't decide if they'd actually rather leave on Fri. night or stick w/ the original plan of Sat. morning. I had planned to make one of the cute countdown calendars like everyone has in their TR for my DD...but that put a little wrench in my plan! So, I never got to do it b/c they've been waffling back and forth on what day to leave.
Regardless, I've been a mess b/c I am absolutely no where near ready! We finally got our tree up yesterday, but there are decorations in boxes all in my living room...so, I've got to finish that...wrap presents to take to Alabama (we're doing Christmas w/ them then)...finish the mountains of laundry so that I can pack...and finish up all my itinerary plans! Not to mention, I have to take my 3-month-old DD to the Dr. tomorrow, I have a hair appt. on Fri. (which I may or may not make depending on when we leave), I have an appt. for a facial and eyebrow wax on Thursday, and have to fit in a mystic tan somwhere in there, too! :scared1:
And w/ all that to do...here I sit...DISing!:rotfl:

Are you coming thru N. Alabama, Central, or Southern AL? I'll wave as you drive by! I'm up in N. AL.

I got tile! It's so purdy! The entire kitchen is tiled and grouted.

This weekend was such a headspin.

When they started laying the tile on Friday they were bringing in boxes and opening them. You know the palet of tile I bought that was shrink wrapped and told good thing you are buying a palet, this will ensure it's all from the same dye lot?

Different dye lots, different sizes, different thicknesses. We were running all over to the metro area Lowes trying to find the tile they used in the kitchen to match the hallway/foyer. They butt up to each other. Nope. Doesn't exist. So I do have 4-5 boxes left and we will use the greener shades in the closet and the laundry room since it's darker in those rooms and it shouldn't be too obvious about the color difference.

Talk about stress. Tim and I were barking at eachother and dragging 4 kids to all of these stores. Right after we forced them to go to church!

Pics please? ;) What a :headache: for finding the right colored tile though. :sad2:

WTG ILLINI WooHOO

ROSE BOWL BOUND!!

:woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Congrats!!!! We know what you will be doing on New Year's!! Hope you can finish decorating without getting dizzy.

DisneyLaura - Congrats on the smaller pants!:cheer2: :cheer2:

My ME tags came...........

to my neighbor!!:scared1:

Luckily, I have an honest and friendly neighbor. My TA has our correct address, it's just that Disney got it wrong. :sad2:

monica - i wanna see pics of the new stuff when it's done!

I lost a pant size :yay: .

CONGRATS!!!!!! isn't that the BEST feeling!????!!! :thumbsup2

My ME tags came...........

to my neighbor!!:scared1:

 :rotfl2: that's funny! but at least you have an honest neighbor!

there's a VERY SPECIAL birthday tomorrow! some of you probably already know this, but tomorrow is walt disney's birthday! he was born december 5, 1901. so wish walt a very happy birthday tomorrow! :goodvibes

i need a recipe for a corn dish! all my girlfriends have what we call "girlie christmas" every year. everyone brings a dish. we used to exchange gifts but now that so many of us have kids, everyone who has a kid just brings a child's gift and they all exchange (which is great for me because that means i don't have to buy anything! :lmao: no, seriously, since i don't have a kid i usually make some white chocolate christmas candy and bring it in individual gift bags for the kids.) usually i bring my spinach dip but i refused to this year because i'm sick of making it all the time. so the only two things left on the list was a ham (which i'm NOT gonna be responsible for!) and corn. ray makes our corn with just butter and italian seasoning. it's very yummy but i thought i'd see if you guys had any other unique corn dishes?

:thumbsup2 That's awesome! Keep up the good work!:cool1:

Are you coming thru N. Alabama, Central, or Southern AL? I'll wave as you drive by! I'm up in N. AL.

Not really sure yet...we're stopping in Dothan, AL, on Saturday to do an early Christmas w/ DH's sister and her family. We haven't decided if we're going to shoot straight through central MS and central AL to Montgomery and then head south towards Dothan...or if we're going to head south out of Jackson towards Mobile and then shoot over to Dothan from there. We've gone both ways. Where in AL are you?

for my TR!!! I have the first installment up!

Gonna go there in a few..then update mine while i am at it..:)

That is GREAT stuff Laura! Good for you! :cool1:

Oh yah..i leave in 2 days!! I can't stand it...off to update Ye Olde Pre trip report ;)

When we did our remodel this summer out tile arrived the morning the tile guy came. Well DH opened it up and said "OH NO!!!" We were matching the tile already there and had orderd through the company but they failed to tell us even thought they are usinf the same sku number--the tile is a different SIZE> Our kitchen and laundty room is a size 13 inch tile and they sent us 12 inch. We made it work--but I was VERY STRESSED. It turned out great. Will post picture later.

CORN--
2 tubes frozen cream corn---I use one butter and the other fried corn with peppercorn.
1/2 pack of bacon fried.
Use 2 tablespoons of bacon grease.
In a fyring pan cook the corn, add the grease, and crumble the bacon.
Add a little milk and about a 1/2 tsp of sugar. Let it simmer until nice and hot. It si very yummy--it is always the first thing we run out of whenver I make it.

Took Rebekah to Dr. yesterday--she is now 10 pounds. SHe got her first shots. She is still not completely well--all he would say is you are going to have a very long winter. He can still hear her wheeze, but only when she coughs--and that is often.

Have to get Joshua a cup----will check back in later.

punkin413 Sorry about another corn reciepe, we only do corn and butter.

MA pigletfan Yeah on the contest at Curves for you. What do you win? So haopy for you that you leave in 2 days - too bad I couldn't jump in one of your suitcases. Have a great trip. And I'll be reading your pre-trip report later.

pigget74 That corn reciepe sounds really yummy. I have to jot that one down. She's still sick poor baby. Yeah for her for being 10 lb. Shots stick. I remember when my DD was born (Nov) I was so nervous about the older ones bringing something home to her. Give her a big smooch from me. Is Joshua better? My DS6 I think is getting bronchitis again, he started coughing a lot last night and right now he's coughing every three seconds. I think I will do a breathing treatment for him before he goes to school.

Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to Walt Disney. Happy Birthday to you.:cake:

Good Morning!!!

Today is my day off, but will be very busy!!! :laundy: Not only do I need to do laundry, but I am going shopping for the rest of the Christmas gifts! So, I am trying to leave by 9 and hitting Target, JC Penney and the Disney store. Hopefully that will finish it all and then I can wrap! After shopping, I head to a friends house who had knee replacement surgery and pull out her Christmas stuff from her attic so she can do some decorating. Tonight I get my DGS and since they live above my friend, I'm just going to stay for dinner at DD'ss and watch him there. HMMMMM...when can I do laundry?!?

This sounds very yummy and I have all the stuff in my pantry and fridge for it now. I will make it tomorrow since we eat at church on Wed. nights.

Joshua is doing a little better. He gets a breathing treatment every morning and night. IF we miss one he tends to cough a lot. He still coughs a good bit with it--but it is not as bad. Our ped. is thinking about sending us to a specialist for him. He says that he has tried everything he knows. So it is a wait and see game right now. Thanks for asking. Hope your little gets better soon.

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Me and good ol' Walt, there's some cool peeps for ya, and born on the same day!:cool2:

and, guess what...it is snowing!! I got my birthday wish!! It is going to be a good day! :santa:

DisneyObsession, I will be hanging out on your TR today. Thanks in advance for keeping me entertained at work.:thumbsup2 Good luck shopping today.

Majic, to you for all you are going through with your daughter. Thank you for sharing with us, I know that must have been difficult to do.

Kat, I fall into the "i already cheated.." mentatlity as well and end up sabotaging myself. It is such a hard mindset to get out of too. WTG with your lunchtime workout! That is a great stress reliever. I keep saying I will walk at lunch but I end up dising while I eat...bad!!!

Laura, thank you for the birthday wishes! CONGRATS on the smaller size. I hope you are proud of yourself!!

ALDisney, :thumbsup2 for good and honest neighbors! I always get really excited when those tags arrive. I am happy for you!

Punkin, I have a great tomato pie recipe but no corn. We just use butter and pepper on ours.

MRNsMommy and Pigletfan, just a few more days and you will be one your way!!! My parents are going to Germany for 12 days and are leaving on Saturday. I wish I was going somewhere...:sad1:

Pigget74, I am sorry to here your sweet little girl is still sick. Our youngest's first winter was a rough one too. We spent a lot of time at home trying to keep him away from all the germs. 10lbs...:goodvibes...I miss the infant stage. Mine was almost 10lbs at birth! He was 9lbs 14oz and looked like he was 2 months old!

Have a great one!!
Kim

Quick pop in to ask for some dentist pixie dust. I leave in about 45 minutes and I really have no idea what to expect. No idea what I'm having done and what is/was wrong with my stupid tooth. Wish me luck!

Have a great day Peeps!

My2boys, how did the exam go? I miss school. I could be a perpetual student. I really should have gotten a nursing degree. Instead I did biology and concentrated in ornithology. I don't use my dgree AT ALL for my job. It is sad. I just noticed that your first WDW trip is coming up. Are the boys super excited?

Kim

The exam went well. My final exam is Monday but I feel really good about it because I only need a 40 to pass the course. I know that I can do better than that. :thumbsup2 No pressure. My children are super excited about the trip & for some reason I'm getting nervous. I have so much to do. I did finally get our Christmas tree up last night. I was going to buy a real 6 ft. tree but I never had the time to go get it and so I put up the 3ft artificial tree that we've used in the past as a candy tree. It works. Besides we're not going to be home for Christmas. Was yesterday your birthday? If so, then HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I know I have been MIA for a while, but I had to travel for work last week, and spent the week in NYC!! Which WOULD have been exciting except for the fact that I came back.............. on crutches!!! :scared1:

Yikes! that is not good. I hope you get better in time for your trip. We leave the same day for Disney World but we have an overnighter planned for Ashburn, GA.

Congratulations! That is awesome!

Have a great day Peeps!

Good wishes.

I once went to the dentist with this horrible pain, convinced I needed a root canal and they told me my tooth was fine, I probably had a sinus infection which it turns out I did.

I lost my will to diet! I just can't seem to do it. By 10am I sink.

I did so good the last time. What is wrong with me? I just think things are too crazy in my house. I think once this remodel is done and I have my house back, and I'm in control of things, I can control this. I am tired of living out of boxes and using the microwave to cook for my family.

In the mean time I am just filled with guilt and disgust with myself.

On a happier note, the cabinets are done and I assume on their precious journey to my home. Come to mama babys!

Today more sanding and priming.

Tomorrow I expect the real paint color to be applied.
