hi, shannon! good to hear from you!

i didn't do too awful at the christmas party last night. had a couple of glasses of wine and a few appetizer-type foods. but nothing too terrible. someone made broccoli salad that was really good. a couple of the boys were challenging each other to see who could do more shots of jaeger. just.......why? :confused3 i don't get it.

okay......i need the peeps' help! ray and i borrowed a camera from anna today (because mine is out of commission) and did our christmas card shots. i need a vote......which one do you like better? i'm leaning towards number 2 because i like ray and i better in that pic. but i LOVE how sherman (the doggie on the left) was tilting his head in the first one, too! so i can't decide!!!

Dawn - I like the second picture better (but you're right...Sherman does look super cute in the 1st. But they still look really cute in pic #2)

Dawn - I like #2 too, I think. They are both cute though. You are right about Sherman in that first one! Too cute! Do you need any help removing the doggie "green-eye"? If you do, let me know. I'd be happy to help. :) Every time I see a picture of your boys, I wish we could introduce Jasper.

Punkin, I'm voting for the second one as well. You all look great.

I'm going to bed early tonight. We were up late last night, then up at 6 this morning to see DD in San Jose's balloon parade. It isn't up to New York or Disney standards, but it is one of the top 25 parades in America. Mickey Mouse was the grand marshal (Disneyland and Southwest Airlines are both sponsors).

I roasted a turkey Saturday because we didn't get any of the leftovers from T'giving, and I was trying to be controlled, so I needed one of my own to eat at my own pace. I took it apart today and put most of the meat in the freezer. I am going to make low-fat enchiladas later in the week. I also have a low-fat turkey tetrazini recipe that I might dust off. We have a LOT of turkey to eat.

Dawn...numero 2 for me too..those dogs are SUPER CUTE.
We just " tortured" our lab by putting some reindeer antlers on him...oh it was cute. i'll have to take pictures.

OH let me just self promote..i just began my first ever TR! Its in the Pre stages and i only have one installment so far...but i would love for you guys to check it out when you get a chance :)

thanks for your opinions on the pics! i think i'm going with #2 (so far anyway).

lynda - i would LOVE to be able to get rid of the doggy green eye! do you need me to e-mail the pic to you or is there an easy why you can just tell me how to do it?

so cool! :thumbsup2 i bet that was exciting to see. my best friend from high school was from san jose. she actually moved back there after graduation and lived with her grandmother and worked at the disney store for a year, but then ended up back in nashville. her dream was to be tinkerbell during the fireworks shows. :rotfl:

good luck with all that turkey!

Hi to everyone else...I hope you are staying all warm and cozy wherever you are..it is FREEZING here in MA..supposedly we are getting snow today..we'll see! I think its a Hot Cocoa and decorating the tree day for sure!! :coffee: :santa:
I know some of you northerners would kill for the weather I have here...80 today! But I would absolutely LOVE some cold weather and a little snow. I don't even care if it sticks...I just want to see it! My DH is from Michigan and he says even he misses it!

Going w/ the crowd and saying #2! Both are cute, though!

Sorry to hear about your aunt, Pakey. :sad1:

punkin, definitely #2!

I haven't been doing well diet-wise.

Today was a very productive day... cleaned out kitchen drawers, and cabinets, switched out summer for winter clothes, dyed my hair (finally!), and purged TONS of old clothes and such that were worn out or no longer wearable. We also went shopping and I bought new underwear and 6 new winter tops.

Now if only I had one more weekend day...

Well to sum up the weekend for me - I had a Christmas get together at my cousins house, he does it for all the cousins. We had a lot of fun. I didn't do too bad on the appetizers and desserts either. Proud of myself again. Only had one drink, some chips and dip, chocolate covered strawberry and chocolate covered preztels for dessert; is one S or two?:confused3 Going to get dinner ready for the crew and then sit down and knit and relax a bit.

Laura:flower3:

Here is a way to remember about "DESSERT"----it is something you want more of so you have more "S's". In the desert you would would not want to be be so you have less "S's" HTH LOL

Tell me anout it :confused3
I hate this weather--we went to pick out our tree and YUCK--hot and humid.

I would hate picking out a Christmas Tree in hot weather! WE are at 28 degrees today and snow! If it does anything significant I'll take some pics to share. :santa:

Dawn...I'm with everyone else...Picture #2! :thumbsup2

Melinda...Did you oversleep today??? :confused3 No bright "Good Morning" from at at 6am!!! Hope all's well!

How can it [possibly be Monday already!! Where did the weekend go?! I hope everyone had a great one. We were super busy. I apologize, but this is going to be a drive-by post. Things are nuts at work today!! It will be a miracle if I don't choke someone today. Wish me luck. I will be back later to really post.

Have a great day all.

Oh, they are calling for 55 MPH wind gusts today :scared1: . I hope all of my decorations don't blow away.

Yep...same here...it was so depressing to get our tree in 80 degree weather! And don't we just love this humid MS weather? Ugh!

Ooh, yes...definitely take pics! We can live vicariously through you!

I am a mess this morning! We leave for DW in 4 or 5 days, depending on my ILs! We were supposed to be leaving early Sat. morning. Our official time in Disney is the 9-14, but we are stopping in Alabama to visit my DH's sister and her family first. But the ILs can't decide if they'd actually rather leave on Fri. night or stick w/ the original plan of Sat. morning. I had planned to make one of the cute countdown calendars like everyone has in their TR for my DD...but that put a little wrench in my plan! So, I never got to do it b/c they've been waffling back and forth on what day to leave.
Regardless, I've been a mess b/c I am absolutely no where near ready! We finally got our tree up yesterday, but there are decorations in boxes all in my living room...so, I've got to finish that...wrap presents to take to Alabama (we're doing Christmas w/ them then)...finish the mountains of laundry so that I can pack...and finish up all my itinerary plans! Not to mention, I have to take my 3-month-old DD to the Dr. tomorrow, I have a hair appt. on Fri. (which I may or may not make depending on when we leave), I have an appt. for a facial and eyebrow wax on Thursday, and have to fit in a mystic tan somwhere in there, too! :scared1:
And w/ all that to do...here I sit...DISing!:rotfl:

Another person celebrating Christmas in the warm weather. It was 80-ish here yesterday. We are supposed to get a "cold" front tomorrow or Wednesday though. 70's for the high and 50's, 60's for the lows. Brrr.... :rotfl2:

When do you leave Disney? Just curious...we are arriving on the 14th just for the weekend.

Ok, in my mini-update yesterday I forgot to mention the killer head cold I had all last week. My ears were both clogged, slightly sore throat, blowing my nose constantly and very congested in my sinuses, etc. But not that achy after the first day. I was taking Tylenol head cold and it seemed to be working. Everything was coming out and I felt better. But this morning I woke up and my uvula (the dangly thing in the back of your throat for those not in the know) is HUGE! I'm talking so big it is actually resting a bit on the very back of my tongue! WTH!?!?! I looked it up online and it said that it can be caused from sleeping with your mouth open, dry area and sinus issues which makes sense with what I have but I'm concerned that I might have had a sinus infection and not just a head cold. I have been drinking water and juice this morning and took some motrin for the swelling. It is the most annoying feeling, but not painful. Anyway, has this happened to anyone? I can't get into the dr today, I work all day tomorrow and I have a dentist appt on wed so I am hoping this goes away soon.

This happens to my cousin quite often. We work together an on Friday of last week, hers was huge. She kept making me look at it. Freaky...:scared1: She said the same thing, that it is from sleeping with her mouth open.

Well I will switch weather with you for a few days..gladly! ;)
I do like the snow when its falling and i have no where to be..but its the driving around in it that i do NOT like...I am hoping for a white christmas though...

I have not been stellar diet wise either..at least i did my WATP dvd today, so that's something...
yay for productivity! I am hoping to get the rest of my decorations up today and get more Xmas shopping done...
What color did you dye your hair!? I just went red actually..i am still getting used to it!

I'm with everyone else - definitely #2. But for me, it is because the pooch on the right (is that Eli?) looks really happy with his tongue sticking out. I think it's adorable when dogs have their pictures taken with their tongues sticking out.

All right, here's the week 1 totals for our Christmas challenge:

Good work all!

What color did you dye your hair!? I just went red actually..i am still getting used to it!

It is a medium auburn. I have to dye every 5-6 weeks thanks to gray... started going gray at 17, and at almost 32 I am at least 50%. I think my natural color is dark brown (or it was, anyhow), but that can come out very flat in a dye, so I do the reddish for depth and highlights. Also, I have very pale skin and blue eyes so the red looks somewhat natural.

You all can keep your snow!! I hate snow and cold... moved South for a reason!

I am back on track today, or at least so far I am. Breakfast was a egg/bacon/cheese lean pocket, lunch is a frozen Smart Ones, a salad, and a sugar free pudding. Not sure yet what dinner will be, probably something to do with chicken as I think that is about all we have laying around.

When do you leave Disney? Just curious...we are arriving on the 14th just for the weekend.
We'll be just missing each other. We leave on the 14th! We're not even there yet, and I'm sad just thinking of leaving!:sad1:

Ooh, sorry you are under-the-weather! I've had the uvula problem before, too, and it's not a comfortable feeling! Hope you get all this knocked out before you leave!

I'll clean my house for you if you want to trade states for a couple of days!:rotfl:

I've been engrossed in the BEST book! Sorry if I was MIA. I think my imaginary friends would love this gem:

"Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer.

It hooks you on the first page! It's equal parts romance and suspense with a 17 year old young lady who's in love with a vampire who was born in 1912 and is forever 17. It written uncommonly well. I don't think I put it down for longer than it takes to eat or pee all day yesterday, saving the last chapter for today. I seriously can't wait to sink my teeth into the next in the series! I like it much better than anything written by Anne Rice.

Now I need to catch up with this thread too!

PUNKIN- #1!!!!!

Very Good book! My daughter gave it to me to read. But when you're done you have to read the 2 sequels. New Moon and Eclipse. My daughter is addicted to these books. Every year each of my kids gets a book at Christmas time for someone whose family can't afford Christmas gifts. We go to Barnes and NOble and pick a child by age and whether they are a girl or boy. DD(16) always pics a girl her age and always gets "twighlight" which she has deemed to be the best book every written! (I hope we don't keep getting the same kid the same book year after year!:scared1:
