DIS Digi-Scrappers Challenge #13 ***Winners posted in post #4***

Oh, I totally know what I want to do for this one. Now I just have to see if I have the right pictures! I'm pretty sure my "scary" attraction will be unique!

ETA, If I can't find that photo, I have another ride I can do. Oooh, I'm looking forward to this one!

I had to get mine done since I'm leaving Friday for a wedding in Boston and will be gone most of next week. So, for any of you who have stayed at the Boardwalk in WDW, I'm sure you'll agree that the water slide is pretty scary looking!

I had a hard time figuring out what to do but then had a "duh" moment and remembered the fire at the Grand Californian. That was definitely scary!

Here are some tutorials:

burned edges (Would make for really cool pirate looking stuff.)

torn edges (This is the easiest way to do it, imho.)

grunge (There is one technique here that doesn't require using the brushes to paint it yourself...something I never could get the hang of. I'm too orderly, I think, to be creative with the brush!

Hope those help. They are all Photoshop tuts.

Thank you! I used a couple of these techniques on my LO!

You guys! I did mine already but it totally took on a life of its own and I did NOT meet the requirements!! OOPS!!!

SORRY MELISSA! I'm a bad example! :guilty:
Well. . . . we'll let you slide this time! ;) But next time . . . :lmao: :rotfl2:

Very nice layout, even if it doesn't meet the requirements. Good job getting him on the best ride at DL!!! ;) :)

WOAH! That is seriously scary! You know what it reminds me of. . . do you remember back in the 80s the TV mini series "IT" by Stephen King? That is what it reminds me of! That show scared the crap out of me! I had several horrible nightmares after watching it. Not sure why I did watch it. Great layout!!! I love the combination of papers. The sponge edge looks great. Extraordinary job!

Bernie-Ann: LOVE this! SO CUTE. Great work! the colors and elements are so nicely done. Poor little guy, but Goofy is pretty huge!!

Pooh46 - Oh my! What a memory and perfect for this challenge. BUT YIKES. You can tell you're a scrapper though for taking pictures of it to document the event.

BriarRose - WHAT?! That is beyond creepy! And so not-Disneyish. WEIRD! Yeah - the really gives me the creeps. BUT your page is FABULOUS. I LOVE the burst paper with it. Very clowny. :) CUTE CUTE CUTE

We were in Magic Kingdom last month and she insisted that it was to scary for her 2 year old sisters! We told her not to worry - we won't risk it!!

steno- love that one! perfect for this challenge!

disney baby - that scared our little one too! She wouldn't even look up at smiling Dopy at the end because she was too shaken by the witch! Live and learn. We didn't go on that one twice!

Very cool! I love the journaling! I also like how you put the arrow pointing to the empty seat. I don't think I would ride it either! LOL :lmao: But then again I think I've established that I'm a chicken!!! :lmao: Awesome layout! :)

Very cute. :) I love how you used all of those photos. You managed to cram a lot on one little page. I can relate to your daughter because Mr. Toad scared me when I was little. Though my sister and I both rode it at DL and liked it, but as a kid it was scary. Hopefully she'll grow out of it. Excellent job!

These are awesome everyone! BriarRose, I remember that story on the news. Fires are my worst fear.

Pooh46, that clown scares the crap out of me! LOL My DS6 is deathly afraid of the "Scary Clown Monster" he hates clowns.

Steno, where is that ride? Disneyland?

Hey there BAMB! Good to see you. That ride is at Disneyland Paris. We were lucky enough to go on an ABD last month.

One of my biggest fears became a reality on our first family trip to Disney World in 2001. My then five year old son got lost. Fortunately, we had prepared him ahead of time to look for a cast member with a name tag if he happened to get lost. We were united thanks to preparation and wonderful cast members.

This is what the journaling says:
"In 2001, Jake got separated from us when we were walking from Splash Mountain to Pecos Bill’s in Frontierland. The streets were being roped off for the afternoon parade and the crowd was being moved off the streets. Jake was a typical five year old and was distracted by the excitement. Somehow, he kept walking with the crowd after we turned to go into Pecos Bill’s. When he realized we were no longer with him, he continued on all the way to Cinderella Castle. He found a cast member there and told them he was lost. The cast member took him to the Baby Care Center next to the Crystal Palace. They gave him a water refill and let him watch cartoons. Meanwhile, we were frantic! When we realized he wasn’t with us, Dad and Eddy looked for him while I waited in front of Pecos Bill in case he returned. I found a cast member and told them we had lost our child. The cast member was so nice to us and assured us they would find him. He immediately got on a radio and reported our missing child. After what seemed like forever, the cast member finally told us that they had our son at the Baby Care Center. When my husband arrived, the first thing my son said to him was, “You lost me!”

The dotted line is the path he took all the way from Frontierland to the castle.

Tip for parents with young children:
- Make sure you prepare your kids
- Make sure you know what your kids are wearing to give the cast members a description
- If you are traveling in group like we were, make sure someone is keeping up with everyone. It's easier to get lost when there is a big group. When it's just your family it's easier to notice that someone is missing.
- Take extra precaution when the crowd starts being herded due to parades, especially when there is low lighting at the nightime parade.
- Tell a cast member immediately
