So I recently decided to get into direct sales and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or advice on how to make the most money off of it?? I started with Lia sophia jewelry and want to branch into others... but is there ways to make money without just having parties??

I love Lia Sophia jewelry! I've been a Team Leader with Tastefully Simple for over 5 years, and there are some ways to make more money than parties. I actually don't do home parties any more, it just doesn't fit into my schedule. I'm still able to make money & meet my quotas by doing: online book shows (barely any work involved here - but not sure Lia Sophia offers that as an option); fundraisers & business accounts. Just by getting 1-2 business accounts you can earn a lot of money. Again, not sure Lia Sophia is the right product that businesses would buy in large quantities to reward employees or customers (or to give as gifts), but you won't know until you try. Type up a letter introducing yourself (or use one approved by LS) & offer to go to the company on lunch or breaks to show your product, and show how your items would make great rewards for employees or customers.

Another way to make money is to build your team. I don't know how that works with Lia Sophia but if it's something you want to do, look into it. You can get commission off of the sales of the consultants under you, which can turn out to be a lot.

In this economy you can't sit back & wait for people to call you to order. With TS, I sell a consumable food product, so people do routinely call for re-orders, but not as much as in the past. I make it my point to ask my best customers when I see them something like "oh hey do you need any more Garlic Garlic, do you need anything for summer grilling, etc."

Good luck - and I can't wait to hear other suggestions on this - so I can learn something too!

I am in a different direct sales business and a suggestion that the "recruiter" told me was to have say 5 friends take the catalog and take at least 5 orders. The 5 friends would get XX savings on their purchases (buy at cost or whatever you decide) if they turned in XX amount of orders. The business I am in this can be done pretty much on a monthly basis as they are consumable products. You may have to come up with more "friends" or offer the ones that order thru the friends to do catalog shows and get a special incentive and that opens your business to other people you would not know and then make a new offer to those customers, etc. I only purchase the products that I want and do not run mine as a business; but I LOVE the discount!!!!

Not sure I fully "get" the OP's question - are you trying to find ways to help build the Lia Sophia business or you want to sell other things in addition to the Lia Sophia stuff?

If you're looking for ways to build business, there are so many ways and you can learn lots from your upline or company meetings or whatever they offer (I'm not familiar personally with it so I'm not sure).

If you're thinking you want to sell other things in addition to the Lia Sophia stuff, read your contract (if you had to sign one when signing up with the company). I was formerly a Creative Memories rep and at the time you couldn't have another home based business or ANYTHING related to scrapbooking at all. Read the fine print before you persue anything else. I don't know what they'll allow you to do or not do and it's not worth the fines they could imply on you (again, that would be in the contract). I know even when I went "inactive" with CM (moved across the country), they were incredibly strict about returning products purchased within x amount of time and NEVER selling the products on like Ebay or anything like that.

Good luck! If it's something you like and enjoy, that's what matters!

I'm doing Market America and I love it. Their makeup is fantastic and the vitamins are great. I used to suffer aweful with allergies and started to take their OPC3 product, no allergies this year! My neighbors noticed I wasn't suffering and asked why, now they want the products. It's nice to be selling products that really sell themselves.

Good Luck!
