Dining questions - planning for 2 groups

I am beginning to plan a trip for a larger group and have a couple questions. We are getting 2 studios. We have TiW and they are interested in getting the DDP. I'm just wondering how that would work. When we go to pay, can they use their credits, and then we would get the TiW discount on the remainder of the bill? Or would we have to do separate checks?

The one I am most concerned about is HDDR. If we put all of us on one ADR, would we have to pay for everyone up front and then things would get credited/discounted when we are there?

I am a veteran WDW planner, but this is my first time planning for two groups so I'm feeling a bit out of sorts. Thanks for your help!
 
Last time we were at WDW I asked about using DDP for part of the group because my father was staying with us and we were low on credits and I was told that they would just ring us in as two tables. I would imagine that it would be the same in your case. As for HDDR I would suggest that you call the dining reservation line and explain the situation. I am sure they have come across this before and have a solution that will work.

1. Let the server know who will be using credits and who will be paying OOP and using TiW. You will receive separate bills - one for the dining plan and the other for everything being paid OOP.

2. You'll need to call to make the Hoop De Doo reservation. Others have posted that they were able to make the reservation for a pre-paid meal with more than one form of payment when calling. Definitely make one reservation for all of you so that you'll be at the same table. Also, only certain seating categories/show times are eligible for the dining plan and/or TiW.

I agree with calling for Hoop. I'd make the reservation online then call and change it over. OR you MAY be able to make it under the DP and then pay OOP at checkin. To get the TIW discount you'll need for it all to be on one check and for the TIW member to pay. Depending on the group makeup, having 2 units does present unique opportunities for the DP.
