Paper, rain drops and word art by www.simplysarahdesigns.blogspot.com, swirlie by Shabby Princess - Promise freebie

Are these too simple, do you think? I've seen some beautifully embellished pages here but when I try and do that it always looks like 'too much'. I think my 'style' (do I have one?) is cleaner with a focus on the photos, but maybe it's too simple? Anyone have thoughts for me?

This is Page 2 of Until We Meet Again (posted earlier). I wasn't sure I could scan her pins but they came out pretty good!

Nocruisecontrol - Greetings, fellow suburbanite! Your layouts are beautiful! Definitely not too simple. You have great photos that you're trying to showcase and that's definitely what you've done. Keep up the good work! :)

Alright, I know you guys can point me in the right direction, you are all so wonderful at that. I need a very easy to understand tutorial on using templates in photoshop cs. I found one once, booked marked the page, but my computer lost its mind, and now I have no idea where it is. I know it wasn't that hard, but for the life of me I can't figure out ctrl what to hit. Please help, I loved using a template, and want to try it again.

Thanks, Marci

Nocruisecontrol - I think the layouts are great, you are good at blending the photos with the papers and elements. Love the one with Chip & Dale - very cute and the pins are just right.

I was stuggling with these pages; wanted to use vibrant colors but not the same as I'd done for Japan. I knew when I saw Erica Zane's new kit that had beautiful reds it would be perfect.

OH MY GOSH Janette -- Those are truly stunning. I mean really. Those pops of red accentuate your pictures so well.. you are right.... Erica's kit was perfect! Beautiful!

I love Erica's New kit too... it's SO versatile!

And here is my first ever attempt at an extraction... I'm not overly thrilled with my handy work, but this was a really fun LO to make. DS and his cousin are planning a battle on Halloween... DS is going to be red Spidey and his cousin is going to be black Spidey. LOL! KIDS!!! :)

Wow. What a beautiful layout. They are both great - but China is stunning. It's not just the kit - although it is beautiful - but there's a lot of artistic talent in the interpretation of the kit papers and elements and you nailed it. Nice job.

(Thanks for the encouragement as well). :)

Ok, I need help and advice from all you professionals! This is my first attempt at adding shadows to pictures and I'm not really sure when and how you're supposed to do it. Here's my pages . . . please let me know if I did it wrong - it doesn't have that look that I see on all the LO's done on this thread - so I assume I didn't do it right! Am I supposed to add shadows to all my picss? Oh, and don't pay attention to my journaling - - it's not complete! I just put quick thoughts in there so I could see what it would look like. My journaling is done last!

Marci -- Try this tut: http://mistycatodesigns.blogspot.com/2007/03/layered-template-tutorial.html

Meliahz -- I am by no means a "pro" but I shadow just about everything. I don't shadow journaling though. I probably overdo it. One of these days I am going to try to do more than just hit the "shadow" button, such as try it in different shades or from different angles. Hopefully, some others will offer better help for you.

Erica's new kit looks so pretty!

Meliah-I shadow everything except journaling, word art (depending on the type) and stamps. All shadows should go in the same direction and should vary in size depending on your object. Closer to the paper=smaller shadow, hanger or something that should lifted=bigger shadow. Use a very dark version of your back round color instead of black or gray. Some people prefer a brown color. I always shadow on a separate layer and use a multiply blend. Your shadows look very square, they should look soft and blurred. Sometimes not flattening your LO before you save can cause that. What program are you using? There are a ton of tuts out there we just have to find you the right one.

Christy & Barbara - Thanks for the encouragement. I'm pretty new and love when everything just seems to work.

Christy - Love your interpretation of Erica's kit; I was thinking I could use it for the Holiday's challenge but now I know it works great for Christmas. The Spidey is adorable; a departuture from what you normally do but I'll bet your DS loves it.

Meliah - I'm not an expert at all; I use PSE and I can add shadow pretty easy and have some different selections. I do use a shadow most of the time. I add it and if I don't like it just take it off. I usually use a low soft shadow but sometimes a higher shadow and sometimes a hard shadow. When I have several pictures like you do I usually use a hard shadow to keep the lines cleaner.

The layouts and pictures are great; did you put in this week's challenge here I think it meets the requirements.

I'm so behind, everyone's LOs are so great!

janette-I had Erica's new kit as a possible buy, but when I saw your LO, I went and bought it! So pretty!

Suzi-I don't know what your talking about, I love your Aladdin & Jasmine LO!

Christy-did I miss the announcement you were named a CT at SM!? Woohoo, congrats! :)

Melissa-you know how much I loved your Incredibles paper LO, and I love the digi version too! Whenever I work on my Incredibles page, I'll be scraplifting you either way. :)

Nocruisecontrol-beautiful cruise LOs! I love that you scanned the pins! I'm lazy and just take pics of them, haha, but I keep meaning to scan them in.

Kim-You have a perfect kit for your concert LOs, I love them!

Here are my LOs for the 2 NLCS games I attended Thurs & Fri. Not really my favorites, but I like getting something done so quickly (using the same elements), and then when I have more time, I can make additional LOs for the games. I have a zillion more pics & of course memorabilia and such. You can sort of tell from the pics in each LO how our seats get worse and worse as the playoffs go along (yet somehow, the prices go up. ;))

Thanks! I have to remember to sign my posts - I'm Barbara. :) A little encouragement goes a long way - especially among this group of talented people. Whew....I havea been going back and reading the previous posts and the layouts are just amazing.

Here's one of today's. PSE was giving me fits today. I'm so bad at remembering to save while I'm working and twice it shut down on me when I had layouts almost complete. :( I'm using Photoshop Elements 5 - is anyone using 6 or 7?

CaitsMom - I went back and looked at your layouts on page 213 - OMG - gorgeous. You take great pics as well. :)

Here's the one I did 3 times today. If there's something wrong with it, don't tell me! lol...just kidding, of course. None of those pictures were fantastic but I wanted to capture the interaction. I missed when Pluto was motioning to her that he was going to steer the ship. :( Sometimes when you're always behind the camera you miss the real moments.

janette: I love the colors you used for those layouts. They really make the photos pop!

disneycruiser: What fun layouts! I love the playfulness of the "And they all fall down" page!

meliahz:I wish I could help you with your question, but I'm just a newbie and am still figuring things out myself. But I do love the way you used the circle stitches around that Tigger picture~

kswm30b: Those are some fabulous photos! Wow!

Barbara: I love that Mission Space page and especially the way you recorded who had which "'job" on the ride. I never thought of that. And that Mickey and Pluto page totally captures the interaction. The photos really do tell a story all by themselves!

Here is my latest addition to my JB album for DD. I am not totally happy with the way this one turned out, but I've already spent way too long on it, so I'm going to be done with it and move on. I've got so much left to do!
