Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Can you guys believe it. One week to go!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: Ok, I'm startin' to count to the end of school. :confused3[/QUOTE]

3 and 1/2 days of teaching to go...7 more work-outs...8 days until we leave home...9 days sail away I have many ways to count it down. If you see a red Mini Cooper Clubman traveling south on I-5 next Saturday, be sure to wave!!!

My plans for embarkation: get on board then relax. Planning done!

And speaking of upgrades (we were, weren't we?) when I called DCL a CM told me it is the same cost to do it there as it is if I was to call on the phone beforehand. (i.e. NOT ANY CHEAPER) WELL...if that's the case, why are we going to be there early? (inquiring minds want to know)

Questions for you (and Connie): is there some way for us to find out about any cabin changes that take place at port for our Secret Mickeys? And sorry to be a dunce, but I don't understand the SM reveal; can you explain how that will work? Thanks!

Good question. I don't think we actually decided on the "reveal". Unfortunately I'm away this weekend with no computer access or I'd throw a poll on the website. I'm posting this message via my phone. I'm thinking a meet at Quiet Cove over coffee for the reveal? As for room changes, if any SM participant has a room change, let either Helen or I know and we'll pass your info to your SM. You can just call our rooms with the room #.

Have a favor to ask, I think you guys are my last hope!

We were on the 3/13 cruise and my daughter (13) lost her 'special' bracelet, every family vacation she spends a great deal of time trying to find that one memento that she'll keep forever, she even has a keepsake box she puts them all in...she and her sister did the talent show and she took off her bracelet to let me and Dad watch it...we thought the other one had it when we all went up to congratulate the performers...but it was left in Wavebands...Disney has tried to find it but they called me again today to say they had no sign.

I have told her it's probably a lost cause, but I would love to surprise her for her birthday party in June...it looks just like this bracelet except it's twice as wide with two rows of the lighter brown flowers...she found it at the market just to the left of the port in Cabo. She paid $6 for it...if anyone can see if they could find it, could I pay you and have you mail it to me when you return?

There were about 10 of these at the different stands throughout the little market, so it shouldn't have been the only one....thanks so much!

Cute bracelet! I would be happy to look for one for you when we are there and I'm sure others will as well. If I find one I'll send you a pic when I get home and if it's the right one I'll send it.:thumbsup2

They're wrong there's been several posts that people went from a 6 to a 3 for $1700 for a family of 4 and it was thousands more when they called for the upgrade the week before. Most people have said it's about half of what it would cost before the cruise. I'm sure they're instructed to say that...they're a for profit business. Guess I'm saying were still showing up early, lol!

Thank you to all for the birthday wishes!! I can't wait to meet you all in person!

Connie - Have a great time in Vegas. I'm really hoping to finish up the lanyards and FE's this weekend so I can concentrate on packing next week.

Thanks for the response... As I said I am sooooo new to all of this... My first disney cruise was about 4 yrs ago and it was only for 4-5 days...Back then I knew nothing about these forums and Fish Extenders. However, I saw all the doors decorated and wondered what it was all about. Recently, I had just stumbled on this while playing around on the computer...I am still navigating around this forum and all of the links.. Can be overwhelming, but looks like a lot of fun.... Since the FE is closed... I am just curious how the whole thing wks...What do people buy to put in them? What are the lanyards for? Where do I post our names? As you can see I am extremely NEW to all of this and sorry for all the questions..I was still thinking of making a FE so that I can put it on our door and maybe I'll put some things in it for my girls since it is Easter Week. BTW.. Would you happen to know if the Dis Cruise does anything on Easter for the kids? :flower1:

We will be in a gold Toyota Sienna heading down I-5 next Saturday. Planning on leaving Lincoln at 9am. Maybe I can find some of that car paint and write something cute on our windows. My DH will probably ax that idea.

Lizac, Here are some good links on how the FE's work.

As for what goodies people give, it varies. It is everything from: crafty homemade items, dollar store trinkets, goody bags, candy, regional items from the givers home state/country, mementos from our sailing, pretty much anything goes.

What is your cabin number? If I have anything extra I would be happy to swing them by your cabin.

As far as Easter, I have heard the ship decorates a bit. The White Rabbit comes out for meets and picture, the restaurants decorate and have chocolate eggs, and there are some Easter services. Now a friend told me they called and DCL said they will do an egg hunt. However, I have read from past cruises there is no egg hunt. We are planning on doing our own egg hunt in our cabin.

Today I am finishing buying candy for eggs, a photo mat from Michaels, getting the dog's shots updated for boarding, going to the book store/library to stock up on books for my daughters reading obsession, and a baseball game for Danny.

Really hopping to get a Kohls 30% off coupon so I can buy some clothes for me.

Well I celebrated my birthday today and I had a great day. I feel like I'm kick starting the vacation early, except for the fact that I haven't packed, haven't finished my FE's, the lanyards, still have tons of work stuff to finish...oh well I guess I'm really not ready yet. The next 10 days will be crazy :upsidedow but well worth it. :yay:

Happy Belated Birthday!

QUick question for all of you....Can we buy liquor or beer in Mexico and carry it on and drink it on our cruise or does Disney hold it for us until we get back? thanks!! This is getting toooooooo exciting!!!
