Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Just heard back from DCL and they have confirmed our Mixology Tasting:banana:

"We can confirm that the “Mixology” Class will take place in the Cadillac Lounge from 3pm – 4pm on 4/18 for 49 guests. You will be contacted by the Groups Manager onboard again confirming the time and location."

As a reminder, the cost is $20/person and will be charged directly to your stateroom.

Here is the current list as I have it. I recall that a few people were waiting for the official date and time to check against their schedules. If for any reason, you will not be joining us, please let me know ASAP so I could have you removed from DCL's list. I need to give them the final list by the end of the week.

(Gino USMC - I'm speaking with DCL to see if I can increase the group to 51. will let you know as soon as I hear back)

You can take us off. I talked it over with the Fiance, and I dont think she wants to do this.

OK guys...yet another question. I am not trying to start any controversity either. Pirate night dinner, if I wear a Capt Jack tee-shirt can we wear jeans in the dining room? Yes I do know that cruise casual usually means no jeans, but I just can't figure out what else goes or if it's different on pirate night. Just want to see what other have seen or wear. :confused3

Sandy - You can wear jeans to the dining room on any night it calls for cruise casual - DCL just requests no shorts, no tank tops and no bathing suits (sad that they even have to mention no bathing suits!). Especially not a problem on pirate night - my family will all be wearing jeans with our pirate t-shirts! And I will often wear nice dark jeans with high heels and a pretty shirt or blouse to dinner. :)

:worship: Thank you Dany!! This way I won't have to go change after dinner.

I was going to say the same thing as Dany. I think it's totally fine.:goodvibes

I know I saw it somewhere, but now I don't remember where. Does anyone know what the rates are for internet usage while on the ship? I was really hoping to leave my computer at home, but my boss "requested" that I take it with "just in case". I really hate my job sometimes, but at the same time I am really thankful that I have a job to complain about! :headache:

I believe these are the internet rates on the ship that was posted before:

I was pondering getting a package because I got Ann an android based phone and I have one from work. We could turn off the cell/data on the phone and only use WiFi. That would get us email, Facebook, and web browsing.

There is an application on the Android Market called Sipdroid that I use to make my Google voice phone number act as Voice over IP over internet connection on my work phone. It works great at home and I can call and talk as much as I want without using any minutes. I am thinking about trying but I hear the bandwith speeds for the WiFi on board are slow. Have to wait and see.

Feel your pain on taxes...just wrote $6K in checks between fed, state and prop taxes. I feel sick about it.

I am with you too. Note to self : "Don't plan a trip right when taxes are due". I was feeling pretty good until I plugged in the numbers to Turbo Tax. I could hear the big sucking sound as our bank account shrunk to oblivion. But it is all good. We are still on the boat. :thumbsup2

. Low and behold checked DCL website and we were upgraded to a 5B.:banana::banana:
Can you change us on the room list to 7100!!!!!
EXCELLENT!! Thats exciting!! We're 1 floor up in 8100 so we'll try not to stomp too much :)

I was checking out the weather forecast in Cabo, PV and Manzanillo for the next 10 days. It is going to be in the mid 80s!! After having days in the 30s last week here in PA, I'm not sure if we will be able to adjust:rotfl2:
Thanks so much for checking and sharing!! :)

Itineraries are starting to leak. YAY!!!!![/QUOTE]
Thanks so much ... we've been waiting for info!

What kind of excursion are you thinking? I have to watch the minimum age since my little guy is only 3. This is what I was maybe thinking of switching to. http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/Medano-Beach-Club.htm
Susan is using them also and in reading their site they say that they haven't left a cruise passenger behind yet (always a first time):rotfl:Although, if we are left behind on Sunday at least the ship will be back Monday morning.:rotfl2:

This is what we have always had to do in the past (in Florida).

I still can't make up my mind... I think we may just do our own thing in Cabo. Maybe try the Villa del Palmar on our own and see if we can get in on Sunday. Then Monday just leave the kids on board and the hubby and I explore on our own.

I didn't really want to post this on the main boards, thought I would post here first.
Has anyone had to receive any kind of medical care onboard? Asking because I have asthma and at the time it is pretty bad and I am kind of scared if I feel like this when it is time to cruise. I don't know if they have nebulizer treatments onboard and the though of being on a ship and feeling like this is kind of scary. Worried if I call DCL and ask that they may make a big deal out of it.
Just wondering if anyone has had medical care onboard and if they felt comfortable with it.
Thanks

TNShellBelle,

Please see the PM on this point I posted to you.
(Hope it helps)

I know, the timing does stink. We jokingly refer to this as our $10K month (did I mention $1K repair work to my car, lol)! :scared1: Oh well, get me onboard, it will all melt away....

I guess that's the nice thing about having my hands on all of the financial files at work. We used to get nailed on our taxes every year, but I've finally made the right adjustments with supplemental withholdings so that we pretty much broke even this year when we filed our taxes. Actually got a small refund - spending money for the cruise! :cool1:

Yep, that was our problem this year.. claimed 4... so we didn't pay enough in taxes. I fixed it for 2011... hoping for a refund next year to pay for another cruise! :cutie:

Helen - Ann Marie is not on my half of the SM list. Can you email her SM to make sure she/he knows that there is a room change?

Me too. I was so looking for an Eastern Med or Baltic cruise in 2012. Those cruises are easy to convince DH to take. Now the only ones he's remotely interested in is Alaska and Canada but both would be cold in early summer and we can't take time off after early July.

Well, it's not the same as asthma but we had to take DD to the medical center on one of the cruises. It appeared to be well equipped but she was there because she had an ear infection before the cruise, was on antibotics, and the infection got worse because she went snorkeling.

I bring my son's nebulizer with us when we travel just to have it in case we need it. He has onset asthma. I have a bag with all of his medicines. I would rather have it than not.

I am sort of a newbie... this is my second Disney cruise...Saw some posts re: fish extenders... thinking about making one this weekend for the April 17th cruise. Not sure how it works...any insight would be greatly appreciated.BTW... also new to Forums...:woohoo::cool1:

Thanks again for all the info. Went back to the Dr. today for a breathing treatment which helped some. I was given another Medrol Dosepak, Asmanex inhaler and another rescue inhaler. I should be set.:goodvibes
