In your own experience how many of you have been able to book the exact room you wanted with your AP discount. I have seen a lot of posts where people have not been able to book their room at all since it's been sold out. Does this happen often? I have my heart set on getting an AP but I want some reassurance that I will be saving some money with an AP room rate. thanks

I have never had a problem, i tend to go for mods and delux. I think some of the most popular resorts may be more limited, for exampl,e I think it would be harder to get an AP rate for Aall Stars Movoes than the other values as it is the most popular.

As long as you are a little flexable then you should be fine.

Don't forget AP disounts are not guranteed and they may not always be available.

I was kind of surprised that I was able to get an AP rate because I booked so late. I booked 3/20-25 at the wilderness lodge on Feb. 24. The CM said she was surprised also that there were AP rates available for that time. I was able to get 5 nights for about $930.00 (about $186 a night). Last June I booked months in advance and I was not able to get all my nights with an AP rate so I am happy. I hope that is a sign it will not be as crowded as it was in June.

There were no mods available for my stay 5/3-5/9, so I booked Pop. I'm still hoping a mod will open up before then

I just booked Poly at the AP rate for 4/6-4/12 I was really surprised that I was able to get the dates I wanted. I had a few sets of dates that I asked about and 4/6-4/12 were the only ones available but those are the ones I really wanted so all is well.

I wanted a mod for 5/4-8, but ended up booking ASMu. They did offer a king room at an AP rate at Caribbean. I don't think 23 yr old DD would want to sleep with me. I'm sure she would prefer her own room.

I booked YC last week (Mar 26-31)with AP, and had Poly, GF and BW to choose from. When I called at the first of the week, everything had an AP rate for those times. But by the time I booked (end of week) CR and BC had filled up. I was very happy with my rate and am excited to try the YC!

I've asked a few different CM's over the last few weeks & they all stated that if the rooms are available when the AP rates are announced (not already booked @ rack, AAA, etc.); the rooms should be able to be booked @ AP rate.

It was suggested that I book what I want, now - before the AP's are released for June & hope to "flip" the rate to an AP when announced.

I booked @ AAA rate, just worried that since the Cont. only had 4 garden rooms left for the day I wanted, they WON'T release an AP rate to flip to! I'm actually hoping they're holding a block of rooms for a convention & more will open up closer to the date.

Anyone have any experience/input on this?

We've always gotten what we've wanted and when we've wanted it, but we've sometimes had to call back a couple of times to get it.

Last Wednesday I was able to book an AP rate for the Polynesian for our upcoming trip this May.

Originally Booked 6 Nights @ AKL, 5 Nights @ Polynesian. Called 1st Day AP Rates Were Out, Got AKL At AP Rate, None At Polynesian. Played Around @ Disney World Site And Yes No Availability For The Polynesian For My Nights, Then I Tried Moving My Dates Up One Day And There Was Availability. Next AM Called CRO And Asked If AP Rate Was Available For New Dates @ THE POLYNESIAN And She Said Yes, So Then I Had To Ask If I Could Add One Day To To My AKL Reservation At The AP Rate. It Was Available. So By Getting The AP Rate @ The Polynesian And The AKL I Was Able To Get 7 Days @ AKL And 5 Nights @ The Polynesian For Less Than The AKL @ AP Rate And Polynesian @ AAA Rate.

thank you all so much for the input. it seems that the AP is the best bet for me. I just hope when we book we don't run into any problems. I can only imagine that during non-peak season the rooms are a lot easier to book.

I managed to get the AP rate this May for the cabins but I called the morning that the rates came out (thank you fellow DISers!!). We went in Nov of 2004 and I had called about AP rates (cabins again) and it was one day after the codes came out and I could not get an AP rate for the entire time we were there which was ten nights. Ended up having to do three reservations, the first was AP, then no AP and then AP rate. Big pain but still saved alot of money. I probably last you long ago but my point is even in the off season try and book when the codes come out or what you want may not be available. Good luck!

At about noon on the day that the codes came out I tried to get an AP rate at the Beach Club. The rep said the BC was completely booked for the last week in April.
I was able to get a garden view room at the Grand Floridian. (water view and Sugar Loaf were also available but the Main Bldg was booked - not that I could afford Main Bldg but I was curious.)

I have only been to WDW in July so this will be different. I am looking forward to it being a little cooler and maybe a little less crowded. The park hours are shorter, however. I'm still so thankful that I can go!

I was able to get one at Beach club on Sunday for the last week of April. I really want to stay at Yacht Club but we are still checking daily to get that one. Availability changes constantly.

This is crazy - why could you get the BC for the same week that I couldn't?
When I called the Yacht club was available. Oh well!
