Last year I went to Disney "WDW" during sept. and I was on the dining plan. At a few dining locations I spoke to the managers about issues or concerns dealing with their restaurant. Topics included tips, upselling "a waitress trying to get us to get the more expensive meal", service, and free dining. But at each location one of the few questions I got from the managers was " DID I GET ENOUGH? " Which I believe pertains to the amount of food or a quantity that is sufficient. Are the disney restaurants not caring or caring less about service and the quality of the food and more about a quantity that is sufficient? At all locations I became affended by this question. When I was asked this the 2nd and 3rd time I reacted asking," Why do the managers keep bringing up this? Why does this seem to be the only questions I recieve from you guys?" THey replied with we want to make sure your happy, blah blah blah. And never asking about the other aspects of dining. Now most managers always trys to change the subject to something that is positive to them. The last MGR that brought it up, I said "no it wasn't enough." I come from a family who has three full meals a day (Big breakfast, normal lunch, and a 3 course dinner) and snack at least twice a day (always before bedtime), so disney needs to add another Counter service on there plan. The manager then got defensive stating who most people say they get enough or too much(a quantity that is sufficient or over sufficient). I replied with, yes some people eat a power bar for breakfast, small salad for lunch no dressing and small portion dinner with no app or dessert and others eat more than my family. I sorry for venting but I keep seeing peoples threads where they feel the need to state how much food they had or how stuffed they got or waste of food. But when I get my meals from disney I'm asking the question "where's the beef?" I have been reading some threads where disney is giving smaller sizes and charing the same, and constant menu changes. BUt disney is a business. SO I guess the real question is "Did you get enough?"

I guess I always thought that the "did you get enough" question was just to just a question to be asked and not one that they really cared if answered truthfully. To be honest, I never thought about it and just answer "yes"- as if someone aked how I was and I answer fine. I wonder what they would do if you said no, bring out more?

But to really answer your question, for my family, we always feel like on the plan we have more food than we would normally eat. And we like to eat! As a matter of fact, I think we LOVE to eat! Ahhhh.... Maybe you should consider opting for the delux dining plan as it offers more and will probably accomidate your famiy better! Best of luck!

Sorry if I was missleading. And as you pointed out I answered the generic question differently, the question "Did you get enough" to me is something a mom or grandmother would or should ask, not a mgr at dining location. The fact that it was a repeat question from different MGR, when my concerns or questions had nothing to do with it, is what got me upset. My opinion about the dining plan is positive right now , but I'm affraid that things will change alot and all that will matter is "Did you get enough".

I see this question just a bit different...if you're asked "Did you get enough?" If you enjoyed the food and ate it all but still wanted more, you might answer, "No, I'm still hungry - there wasn't quite enough food at this meal."
If you were completely satisfied with the meal, you might answer, "Yes, the meal was wonderful - I'm stuffed! Thank you."
If the meal was atrocious and you didn't eat much you might answer, "No, the food was horrible and now we need to get a meal elsewhere."

I honestly think it's a better question to ask than, "Was the food good?" That implies that maybe the food wouldn't be good...whereas asking "did you get enough?" can open in many different directions.

If Disney has experimented with portion sizes this question can validate their adjustments or cause them to readjust. Most chain restaurants are changing portion sizes (note TGIF's ad campaign), its about the American consumer and our eating habits and health concerns.

I don't begrudge Disney for making money. Spending money with Disney is an absolute choice, not a necessity (unless you have an addiction as some DISsers do). Disney will get 90% of my vacation money this year. The airline and airport parking grarage get the rest. They are not the local phone or electric company where choices are slim or none. If Disney is too greedy for my liking I am supposed to exercise my freedom of choice and go elsewhere. If Disney sees an attendance decline, understands the reasons they'll have no choice but to make changes. That's the supply and demand side of our free market economy.

I am looking forward to my Disney trip, DDP meals and making family memories.
