Did BWI Occupancy change?

We stayed at BC last year as a party of 5 plus an infant. When we were looking at resorts YC, BC, BWI and Poly were all options for us. I think CR was as well. Now I'm looking for our upcoming trip and in the BWI description it says they sleep up to 4? Did this change or was it a glitch that it showed up last year every time I was searching for a room to fit 5? (6 including an infant).

We are considering upgrading to Deluxe, but my MIL is coming 2 or 3 nights during our trip so we need to stay somewhere we can add that extra adult to the room as Deluxe prices are definitely out of her reach. BWI is currently the only Deluxe with standard rooms available the week we were going with the BB offer we used or the AP discount which is also an option for us.

I pulled up the Disney site and I see where it says BWI only accommodates 4, but it has to be a glitch (which isn't uncommon with the Disney site). I would call and talk to a CM because BWI has always accommodated 5 + 1 under the age of 3 and AFAIK it hasn't changed.

Agree. If you go to the Disney website and begin the steps for booking a room utilizing 5 persons all older than 3, BWI standard rooms are allowed to be booked. (I just checked this.)

Unless there was either a change in the firecode, or the fire marshall inspected and said no way to 5.

Just out of curiosity, where does the fifth adult sleep? Is there a sleeper sofa in those rooms? I have only been there with my DH.

The regular rooms have a sofa sleeper. We had my DS, DIL & my nephew and we stayed in a regular room two weeks ago. We were a family of 4 adults and one teenager (16) Worked out just fine :) This was at the BWI

Yes, that's very odd. In the description, it does say the standard room sleep 4, but if you price out BWI with 2 adults and 3 children over 3 (or 3 adults, 2 children over 3), the standard rooms come up. Must be a glitch in the description.

Glad you brought this up, though, as BWI did change their occupancy on their Garden Suites which now only sleep 2 although they have a king and a queen sleeper sofa. When I first read your thread I thought maybe they did change their standard room occupancy too. Glad they didn't!!

I saw that on the garden suites and wondered about that category as I've priced out BWI in the past for 4 adults and the garden suites always came up as an option. I wonder why the changes all of a sudden.

I don't know. It seems strange. The room is certainly large enough to sleep four and has the king and the sleeper sofa. I guess they are trying to keep the rooms for couples/honeymooners? They seem to always be in inventory though, so perhaps they are having trouble selling them. Maybe they will put them back to a 4 occupancy. I hope so.

I agree. And you're right....they are always available, at least whenever I've priced out BWI it's always been an option.
