Did anyone watch Rock Star: INXS last night?

JD drives me nutso, he is such a pompus idiot. All the other people seem to have feelings and he is all wrapped up in himself.

I couldn't have said it better myself! That is JD in a nutshell!
However, I don't know why, but I'm not feeling the Mig love. I just can't get into him either. He kind of creeps me out. He's got a Willem Dafoe thing going on.

Why is the show giving so much more airtime to Suzie (in a positive light to boot)? It's driving me nuts!

Maybe because she's good? I personally really like her and it's nice to see her getting some credit. I hope she does well on Bohemian Rhapsody because if not she could very well be gone this week.

I was at JD messing up. He totally deserves to go this week after not even bothering to practice! Sheesh.

Mig is still my favorite. LOVED the way he sang their song. Marty did great too, once they toned him down a bit from all the yelling.

Mig and Marty were both great. Marty of course is still my favorite!

Jordis looked like she was faking it.

So the show's almost over and nobody posted anything yet?

Anyway - My thoughts:

- Marty was the best tonight. He mellowed out and sounded great.
- Suzie did better than I thought, but it wasn't "the best performance ever on the show" as one INXS guy said.
- Jordis was good, but I think Imagine was the easiest song of the night to sing.
- Ty was okay, but You Can't Always Get What You Want is a favorite of mine and I wasn't feeling it.
- JD - Obnoxious, but he sang alright. That being said, all I did was laugh while he sang which isn't the point.

And the worst of the night (in my opinion): MiG - I don't think he sang a note of that song on key. Thought it was the pits, and that song kicks you-know-what so it was highly disappointing.

I also didn't like the gospel choir. For some reason, I kinda thought they were off-key from the rockers. Oh, well.

What did everyone else think?

I can not believe Marty is the bottom 3!! He was so good tonite.

Jordis was flat. Sorry if that offends anyone. And I also believe it was one of the easier songs tonite. I think Live & let Die-Migs song was the hardest to sing tonite.

JD- His "version" did nothing for me & he did not hit all his notes either.

My botton 3-JD, Jordis & TY-I thought he would rock that song out a little more.

Ty- I like him better than others but he's still too theatrical. And I don't think that that was his best.
J.D.- He actually did pretty good but still was really annoying. He NEEDS to go.
Marty- He sounded much better tonight then any other performance- but I still don't like him.
Jordis- Great song and she did a great job but I agree that it was a pretty easy song to sing. But she definitely redeemed herself from last week.
MiG- Not his best- he still did good though and I still think he is the best.
Suzie- WOW!!! That was definitely the best performance so far in the show (well, Baby I Love Your Way is up there too). I was so nervous for her but she did amazing. Do you think they'll give her the encore 2 weeks in a row- but then how could they not after that. I think I liked it better than Constantine's version- which I LOVED. Great job Suzie.

I thought that the choir really didn't sound that good. In some songs they were out of place.

Ty This is the first Ty performance I've enjoyed in a number of weeks. I finally caught a glimpse of that "soul" he's been bragging about.

JD Funny how he talked about how he rearranged the song but it sounded the same to me. I thought he did a good job but not his best performance.

Marty Oh Marty...you can sing...you can really sing! Finally he stopped the primal scary screaming and let his voice shine. And he didn't disappoint! Marty: how I wish you'll still be here next week

Jordis This is the first time it really hit me how beautiful Jordis is. This is my second favorite performance from her (first one being Man Who Sold The World). I wish we could have heard her actually playing the guitar.

Mig Vocally not the best but I think he outshone the rest of them on stage performance.

Susie I liked it but I didn't feel like she delivered and authentic emotional performance...it all seemed a bit too calculating. The choir really rocked the house though!

The band & the choir WOW WOW WOW! A special mention to them tonight because it was awesome!

Rock Start INXS has officially spoiled American Idol for me. I'll never be able to listen to that sugar-coated pop on AI again without yearning for some good old Pink Floyd and Queen.

I think MiG and Susie had the hardest songs and did very well. Marty was great-he sang! I agree that the bottom three will be Ty,Jordis and JD. I think my dislike for JD grows each episode.

JD: I thought he might stick around till the end but I changed my mine, he needs to go.

Jordis: Good voice, easy song, think it is her time to be in the bottom three.




Susie sang the song well but I just can't see her being the lead singer. Mig did well, but I have seen him do better. Marty is still my favorite, think he is the most talented one there. He is able to sing different types of music which he has proved and he does it good.

I thought I loved Constantine's version, until I heard Suzie. I REALLY think she did a great job tonight. I think she has been around this long because she really is talented. I (dare I say this) think she is better than Jordis. But I just can't accept a woman for the lead of INXS.

Ty- Same old theatrical performance.
JD I thought he was terrible.
Marty- I really enjoyed Marty's "softer side", great job.
Jordis- Zzzzzz, I agree with whoever said it felt fake, there's was no real emotion in it.
Mig- I liked him, kinda crazy and a little bit of a "Marty scream" in it but it was fun.
Suzie- Tough song but she did a fantastic job!

I'd like to see Jordis, JD & Ty in the bottom 3 and I don't care who goes home.

Checking in from the west coast with my thoughts

Ty: Eh...it was good vocally and the performance was good, but adding a gospel band for Ty was not what he needed I get him wanting "soul" but I'm not sure how much soul is in INXS's music. I think he has a great voice, don't get me wrong and I LOVED him in the beginning, but I think he's strayed away from the rock n roll vibe that made me like him so much early on.

JD: Snooooooze. Sidenote: I had no idea he was an Elvis impersonator, but now I can totally see it LOL. Stick with that JD, your future is not with our band, INXS. I wouldn't be surprised with his attitude, his perfomances lately and his studio snafu if he sent home this week.

Marty: Loved it!!! Thought it was absolutely frappantastic to hear his real voice and no crazy Marty screaming. I thought he SHONE tonight and he really impressed me instead of scaring me with the yelling. Definitely a contender for the final 2!

Jordis: Love the song...it's a classic, but it's easy IMHO. I thought she did OK, but it was very boring and lacked anything to keep me into it. She has an amazing voice, thats without question, but in the past 2 weeks, I just haven't been as impressed with her as I have been. I think she might still make it to the final 4 or 3, but she really needs to get back to the beginning and strip it down again.

MiG: Still my fave It's a very difficult song and he did a pretty good job. His voice is soooo good and he really works the stage well. I would've liked to hear more of the band parts but his singing during them didn't "ruin" it for me like one of the bandmembers suggested. I still see him either winning the job or making it with Marty to the final 2. I'd like to see him sing something more hardcore..perhaps like something Marty would sing.

Suzie: Man, I was frightened for her...literally shaking with nervousness when she came on. Listen, she did an awesome job...MUCH better than I expected, but the whole choir and theatrics of the whole "stage show" detracted from listening to her voice. I still think she'll either get the encore and won't be in the bottom 3, but I was TOTALLY distracted during the whole performance.

JD -- I thought he did a good job with the song but I still can't stand him. He needs to go tonight.

Marty -- awesome job! How nice to hear his real voice.

Jordis -- gorgeous voice, but I still don't see her fronting INXS.

Mig -- Still my #1 choice, but I feel like this was one of his worst performances.

Suzie -- she has surpassed Marty as my #2 pick. I have liked her since day 1 and she keeps just getting better and better. That was a really hard song to sing and she rocked it!

I look for JD to go home tonight if he's in the bottom 3.

Last night's show was great, but...I thought Mig sounded a bit too much like Bowie, Susie was good, but left all of the high notes and hard parts for the band to sing, Jordis was good, but isn't she looking like she's been coached to smile and stare straight into the camera too much now? Marty was good, but that song wasn't hard either. Ty was great, but that song wasn't hard, and the fact that it was so gospel-ish might remind INXS that he's not that rock-n-roll. I hate to say it, because he's so self-centered, but I'm afraid that INXS might choose JD in the end, as he's the most similar to Michael Hutchins. (Similarity in appearance, sex appeal, charisma, most diva-ish, etc.) I'll be disappointed if that happens, but we'll see. I can't help but be jaded and feel as though some of their choices are trying to be politically correct. Can't vote off the minorities too soon, etc. I hope I'm wrong. I don't think they ever considered Ty or the women as real contenders for the job. And I've finally learned to tune into VH1 on Sunday nights, so I won't keep missing the show once a week!

Nope, I love Mig....I think he is great. Marty on the other hand scares me a bit.

My bottom 3 are Ty, JD and Jordis. I really like Jordis, but I don't think she has been proving herself as much lately.

I used to think it would come down to Mig, Marty and Jordis. Now I am not so sure. It might come down to Mig, Marty and Suzie.

Wow.. I am so stunned by all the negative MiG and Jordis comments. While I agree that Marty and Suzie's performances were awesome, my DH and I were equally as blown away by Jordis and MiG. I downloaded all 4 and have been playing all of them a few times today.

I also don't get the "'Imagine' is easy" comments. I have a very similar range as Jordis, and let me tell ya, that place where you jump a whole octave in one word ("you-ou!") is not easy. It's almost like a yodel.

As for MiG... yes, RyMickey, some of it is the accent. Can't be helped. But, that being said, I really thought he was great last night. He started off sweet and high, then hit that growl with, "Live and let die!" and I felt it all the way to my toes.

Between my DH's lust for Brooke Burke and mine for MiG, we are both puddles of goo after watching this show. LOL
