DH will have a heart cath tomorrow UPDATE post 22

I made myself NOT think about DH's heart cath tomorrow. We had a great weekend, attending my DS's bride to be's graduation from MSU yesterday and enjoyed a great Sunday today. Now I am starting to think about it and am getting nervous. I don't know what they will find and the NOT knowing is making me almost sick.

I am not sure what to expect tomorrow.

If any of you have any pixie dust to throw my way, I'd appreciate it.

Medicine has advanced so much recently. In my last clinical class I saw a heart cath. It is amazing what can be done in a cath lab. He will be very well taken care of.

Prayers for tomorrow! I hope all goes well. My DH has had 2....one that came back with bad news and one that came back fine! The waiting is so hard. I feel for you! It's a relatively quick procedure, so if they *do* find something you should be told before too long.

Is that anything like a stent? I know a bunch of guys from work have had stents put in and have been back to work in 3 days....

aprilgail2 - stents can be put in during a heart cath if the MD finds reason. This is also the time they would perform the balloon angioplasty. Stents are like little slinkies that help to reinforce the vessel and keep it open.

Thank you, everyone for your well wishes. It emans a lot to know that there are people out there that care!!! The Dr's "think" there is a blockage behind the heart where they can't see on the echo. He has problems with A-fib.

Saying a prayer that all goes well for your husband tomorrow. My daughter has had a heart cath once a year for practically her whole life (she's 17). I know how much you dread tomorrow. I always feel the same way and can't wait till the procedure is over and we get good news. Please report back how it all went!!

Your "nephew" Mikey is sleeping now but in the morning I'll have him pray with me for your DH. Sometimes I think prayers coming from the innocent are heard first.

Will someone be there with you to wait? I sure hope so!

Unfortunately, I am going alone all the way out to St Joe's in Ann Arbor. But I am going to stay optimistic and hope to be home with him toninght
