Dental benefits necessary...

What kind of dental plan is it? I am not limited at all in the dentist I can see. My children just went for the cleaning and x-rays and it would have been over $500 OOP if I didn't have insurance. Add to that my son needs 4 fillings at $250 a pop. While dental insurance doesn't cover the full amount (and rarely does other than cleanings) it covers more than paying 100% OOP. To us, having healthy teeth is more than just a cosmetic thing. YMMV. I would keep the dental insurance.

My dental plan at work is $26/month for me only, which doesn't sound too bad. However the out of pocket max is $750. HAHAHA! Why bother? So now I'm looking into finding a plan on my own. I've toyed with going without dental, but I'm nervous. I wouldn't say definitely get dental, but you should take a look at your budget and figure out if you'd rather pay for the insurance or maybe put that much more in savings each month.
