I would like to use on-line check for our next trip so we can save some time. But I am wondering if they still allow you to do so with children? I had thought at one time you had to physically check in when you had children under 11? Or am I mistaken?

It says nothing about that on the site, why not call and ask Delta?
That, IMHO, would be your best bet.

We fly Delta all the time. I used online check-in for our October trip. I had no problem with online check-in for my DD who was 6 at the time. Go for it!

I'm assuming (yeah, I know, bad idea!) that Song would be the same as Delta. We used on-line check-in last Dec and my dd was just turned 10. Had no problem. In fact, we've used the kiosks also and had no problem.

What about luggage check -in? don't you still have to stand in line for that?

Yep, and security too, unless you use the skycap.

We flew Delta in November. We have 2 young boys (2 & 4) and I printed both of their boarding passes online. However, in Syracuse, we had to wait in line anyway because of our baggage - it was way too cold for curbside checkin here. But it was no big deal. They do not ask for IDs for the kids. They just ask if they are traveling with you. Definitely use the Delta kiosk at MCO on your return flight. It is so fast.

I cannot say on Delta per se, but on their Song subsidiary (out of BOS, rather than MHT) I both used on-line check-in the day before, then curbside luggage checking. So for us, there were no Airline lines, aside from the TSA security lines and the one for boarding the plane. We have done this twice, in October and again in January, with great success and ease. It was "wicked easy" (as we say around here ;)) both times. I hope it is the same on the real Delta for your sake (as opposed to Song, which is Delta with a fun attitude).

I expect calling them is good advice (tel# 1 800 323 2323 for Skymiles members at least).

DawnMaree,

we are also flying Delta to MCO with our boys, 2 and 4! How does the kiosk work? Do I need to bring anything special? where is it? thanks for any info!

Mainbound Just make sure you have your confirmation # - bring the printout. That's all. There are a bunch of kiosks as soon as you walk in the doors at the Delta terminal. After you do the kiosk, you place the baggage labels on your baggage and take them over to a screening area - just drop them off and go on your way. There are reps there if you need help but it's pretty easy.

Just don't do what my Dad did. He thought that was all you did, check in, and was off for security. He forgot to take the printed boarding passes. I ran back with him for them. Thankfully, a rep had placed them on top of the kiosk we had used and handed them over to us. Dumbo Dad.

Have a great trip!
