Dedicated 2BR question

We received our paperwork for our trips and our October OKW 2BR reservation says "dedicated 2BR". What is the difference between the two (regualr vs dedicated)?
Our teens are in the second bedroom, so maybe this is better  or do they still have their own "escape" door?

A dedicated two bedroom has one main entrance to the unit, and no kitchenette. A lock-off two bedroom is a one bedroom unit connected to a studio. Both the one bedroom and studio portions have entrances.

LOL, well, if teens WANT to get out, they will, even in a dedicated! They will have to go through the foyer hall though, and wont be able to access the outside through their own bedroom. We prefer the dedicateds anyway, because they have HUGE closets in the second bedroom! The walk in closet could almost be another bedroom.

In a dedicated 2-br, the second bedroom has two queen-sized beds. In a lock-off 2-br, the second bedroom is really a studio and has one queen and one double pull-out couch.

Not at OKW...all studios have 2 queens, so all 2 bedrooms, both dedicated and lockoff have 2 queens in the second bedroom. The OP is staying at OKW.

Since they are at OKW, it wont matter, because ALL OKW second bedrooms and studios have 2 queen beds...the only hide-a-bed is in the living room at OKW.

Isn't there are also 2 balconies on the lockoff 2BR's at OKW?

Cheers

Yes, the lock offs will have the big main balcony off the living room and master bedroom, and there will be a small little balcony with two chairs off the 2nd bedroom/studio portion.

This is where BWV offers some small but noticeable benefits:

First, the balcony size in studios and one bedrooms are at BWV the same (studios one aren't "shrunk" like they are at OKW, VB and HH). So if you get a 2BR there, the balcony in the lockoff studio doesn't feel like a "stepchild." Granted, the balconies are smaller than the ones at the other resorts I mentioned but at least you're getting the same thing in every unit.

Secondly, one bedrooms at BWV have two baclonies, one off the living room and the other off the bedroom. So when you add a studio as part of a two bedroom lockoff, you end up with not two but three separate baclonies!:cool1:

True, but you don't get a big dining table and chairs on your living room balcony because it isn't large enough! I LOVE the OKW balconys. I can honestly say I have never ventured out onto a studio balcony off the second bedroom. No need with that big one off the living room.

I am not necessarily looking forward to the balcony arrangement at AKV, because I think it will be similar to BWV and the other hotel type DVCs.

Once in a while we get lucky and get one of the larger balconies at BCV that are joined together - then I feel like I am at OKW - you can't beat that large, massive balcony with a light that you control (unlike BCV) and a fan

As richyams would have said - at BWV you reach the fridge from the balcony :cloud9:

I love BWV and that boardwalk view, but for pure relaxation it's hard to beat the verandas at OKW. We had breakfast out there every morning during our stay at OKW. Being from New England, it was such a treat having breakfast outdoors in January.

Ditto to this at Vero beach. Breakfast outdoors while overlooking the Atlantic.....:goodvibes
