Decorating your resort room?

I cannot wait to decorate my room. I have a pretty big box with the 2ft tree and decorations and lights...I am going to ship it down...I have to get started making my Mickey Head garland....

I'm so excited I bought my tree at Belk today now to put the decorations on for the room..

I was at Disneyland the other day and in the christmas shop on Main Street they had Disney window clings, $4. Instead of ordering online and paying for shipping, it might be worth it to call WDW and get the Christmas shop and ask if they are carrying them and just buy them there.

We bought a 3 ft pre-lit tree at Walmart last weekend for $10. We weren't sure how we could keep it a surprise or get it there as it wouldn't fit into our suitcases. The it dawned on me that I could put it in one of our backpacking bags! Problem solved. I also picked up some small ornaments as Target for $2.50, and tree skirt for $2. Now I just have to work on the stockings sometime in the next 2 weeks.

Wilderness Lodge - Metal Doors? or Wood?

if wood how do I hang something on the door- I have a mini Mickey wreath.

I don't know what kind of doors, but I would go to Walmart and buy a wreath hanger. You know, those things that go over the top of the door. They are cheap.

We had a corner room at POR in building 27 in AB on ground level .
I'll see if I can post a photo.
I used Princess window clings....
And Capn Jack Photos.....
And I made fun cut out designs with neon poster board and glued assorted colored Mickey Heads (cut-out) from Home Depot on them.....
I took small kid scissors and a roll of packing tape with me, in checked luggage. I liked watching people walk by and point to my windows and smile !!!
My kids loved the idea and my sister was jealous she didn't think of anything like that !!!
I'll definately come up with something fun & new on our next trip!

We went to Disney this past September and this was the 1st time that we had ever stayed at a Disney Resort ( Pop Century) and I just could not want to decorate the window. Really all I did was bring Princess Window Clings that I had bought at Walmart for $2.50 on clearance and then we just put a little bit of everything that we had bought on our trip that was Disney in the window. A lady that was a guest was walking around and said that we were the "Winners" . Also It seemed like the whole row of rooms in our part of the hotel started to put their Disney Stuff in their window.

Ya'll would laugh and be proud if I knew how to post a pic of our window. This is what we take for our window:
-disney character lights to put around window
-about 40 disney plush
-disney picture frames w/our pics in them from previous yrs.
-we always buy the mickey head balloons the 1st day to put in there
-I have tinkerbell flying in the room
-our table is set up with a mickey tablecloth along with the plates, forks, and this yr. I'm using my pirates popcorn bucket for a big icebucket. I know that mousekeepers think we are crazy! Our room is a lot of fun! This yr. I'm excited to put my lime green mickey heads around the window! Stop by and see us @ Pop!

So what's everyone doing for St. Patty's Day? We're staying at FW in a cabin and have shamrocks for the windows are are planning to bring a flag. If I can find green lights I'll be bringing them too.

I totally forgot to post my window/door pics when I got back last August!! I'll do it right now, give me a few minutes.

(Wow, I still haven't put DS8's 1st bday from camcorder tape to DVD, but I'm doing door pics on here!!) At least posting the pics won't take me 7 years!!

It was awesome to see folks walk by and point & smile!!!

I made homemade signs & had window clings and some Captn Jackpix ( for me, the Mom ) and Princess stuff and lined the window sillwith stuffed animals from Build-A-Bear dressed in Disney Costumes !!
It was adorable !! My 2 DD's loved it !!

Made our room "stand out" and I felt really good about taking the time & effort to do it !!

I had the same problem Delran had no green heads....I took the trip to moorestown. I've been saving up heads for our trip in Sept.

Either people in the Delran area are just plain crazy about Alien Green or there are other DISers in our area!
