I'm going to be in Disney for Thanksgiving. Has anyone seen any Disney plush characters in "thanksgiving-like" outfits? I would love to do my window (we'll be at All-Star Sports) in Thanksgiving display. I plan on stopping by Home Depot and borrowing some paint chips, but I remembered I have leaves on a vine that I can bring to put at the base of the window. Has anyone seen Disney Thanksgiving clings?? I'm really getting in the mood to go now!! Not that I'm ever NOT in the mood to go to Disney! Thanks for any help or ideas.

I was on Ebay and searched Disney Thanksgiving beanie and a bunch came up. There was a Pooh Pilgram, a Minnie Pilgram, a Tigger Indian, several dressed in turkey costumes, Pilgram Eeyore, Indian Eeyore, and an Indian Minnie. It sounds like a really cute idea!

Great... :thumbsup2

Have a Great Trip

We were at POP over Labor Day weekend. DH sleeps later than me.
Really enjoyed walking around the resort each morning and checking out all the decorated windows. Just wanted anyone who was there to know someone appreciated their efforts. :thumbsup2
I never noticed these things before I discovered these boards.

I don't know if this is possible, but when I went on my first cruise, I made magnets and pasted them all over my door. :artist:
I was at the end of a hall so it did not get a lot of exposure, but I thought it looked cool, and it ws easy for the kids to find our room.
Does anyone know if magnets would stick to the hotel doors?
I love the idea of the mickey heads on the door, and especially how someone had the disers sign it. I think I am going to try to do this for my trip coming up.
I have not noticed people decorating hotel windows/doors before but I will be looking this time!!!

Another idea is to make little Pilgrim hats for the Home Depot Mickey Heads...just make one by...you know the old fold the paper in half trick with black construction paper and add a yellow paper buckle....

Have fun!

I don't know if someone has already mentioned something like this, but when my family and I went to Disney during Christmas in 2004, we stayed at POR and we put a little Christmas Tree with lights on it in our room. We also put lights around the window. I noticed that only one other family had done this in our building and I though it was a cool idea.

I have stayed at POP and the doors are metal. I am going to bring a marker board to stick on my door this time. Hopefully someone will leave me a note!

I am going Nov 29- Dec 9 then the DCL for 7 days. I will be taking lights, making my doors a big preasant,I bought my wrap for them two years ago. I also found at the dollar tree a big wicker wreath and smaller ones yesterday and I bought 2 big ones and 4 small ones. I intend to wrap the wire ribbon around them and turn them into mickeys. They look so cute already. I also have the mickey head punch. I will start at the bottem and leave a foot or so and them end up there with the same. Then I will punch mickey heads out of the ribbon. I was thinking for the christmass one I would use maybe a green ribbon and wrap the whole thing, then go over it with the white snowflake ribbon, each wrap I will position the mickey punch so the mickey head will be at the upwards position. I am going to go find the holloween ribbon today. I also am going to make a trip into the big city this year to get the candy cane rope lights I missed last year,I think those wrapped around our windo and mickey in the middle will look sweet. Something else you can do is get a stamp and put it under the velvet ribbon and iron it a bit and it inpresses mickey on you ribbon. You could hang this outside your door and maybe punch a mickey in here and there, then people would look closer at it.

Why hasn't anyone started a windoe box for CSR. I would love to have the use of it when were there. Maybe we could add a few bucks and get a pal mickey in there. Mum

Just wanted to subscribe to thsi thread! We will be at POP in April and will defintely be decorating our window for our honeymoon! Anyone have any good just married ideas? Also is the magnetic borad a good idea or the pads of paper that are magnetic..I was thinking of the paper so then each person would have a page to write and we wouldnt have to throw them away or erase them!

We used huge sheets of paper this last trip and worked better than the magnetic board, b/c we can save it!!! it's a great reference sheet when you are wiriting your trippie!
-------------

we were married in WDW, so we had purchased a lot of JUST MARRIED STUFF from party supply stores to do our window with. WHITE twinkle lights are GREAT too! also from the top of the window hanging down we had 2 of those paper bells!!

bumping the thread back to the top....

I'm trying to come up with ideas for our DLR trip next month. We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel and plan on surprising our girls and friends with a decorated room. So far we have decided on bring a tree and stockings (each with a Mickey head on it). The tree will be placed on the desk and the stockings hung with suction cups on the sliding glass door. I'm also considering adding Mikcey hats to be taped to the door. I did this for our trip to WDW (POR) back in Aug and it looked cute. I just wish that I had a picture of it, or them. I forgot to take them home with me.

I ordered us the personalized stockings from Disneyshopping and am bringing some of those 3M removable hooks to hang them on the wall (they're awesome), but that's all I've got so far...I really want to get a little tree, etc., but keep dreading the thought of schmucking all that stuff up to the room, etc...I leave a week from tomorrow so I've got a bit of time to come up with stuff...was thinking about bringing lights for the balcony and maybe a little 2' tree, but still not sure yet...

I haven't read all the pgs to this thread so please forgive me if I ask a question that has already been answered. What do you use to hang the lights around the windows and has anyone every hung garland with lights?

You can use suction cups.

If you go to laughingplace.com, they have Christmas Disney Window Clings. I think there are 5 or 6 in the package. I'm going to put them on our window at POP.

Also, Target has these cute little lighted trees for only $2.50. They're about 9 inches high and have about 10 little lights that you plug in. I think it will probably be just right to use as a night light and a nice little Christmas decoration.
