Decorating your resort room?

I haven't been to our local HD yet to swipe some LGMHs but I do have another idea for any of you that can't get them. If you go to A.C. Moore's or Michael's, you can buy sheets of Foamtastic in lime green. Then, just cut out your own Mickey heads. They are soft, you can write on them, and do all the same things that the HD's LGMDs do. That is what I will probably do if I can't find any. Just an idea.

Thanks for this suggestion. I know that there is a template to print them from the computer but my color printing is screwed up (comes out all pink and black only -??) even though I put in a brand new cartr. So printing them is out for me.

I've been going to my local HD for the past couple of weekends, each time they were out of the LGMHs... So, there's another Baton Rougean who keeps swiping them before I can get to them!

But... Where did I go yet again this morning? To HD of course! And guess what.... They had the LGMHs!!!! I didn't have the heart to take all of them, but I did get 32 of them!!!!

Cool, huh?

I also got some other colors to decorate the door/window with... And I'm definately using the idea of having visitors stop by and sign one so at the dreaded end of the day, that sad walk back to the resort for the much needed sleep, at least we'll have something to look forward to!

It may be a good idea to save the LGMHs for when we're at the parks. We can decorate our windows and doors with the other colors. That is, if there aren't enough lime green ones. I kind of like the idea of using different color Mickey heads for the door to have as "sign in" sheets.

Our HD is about 40 minutes away and the few times that I went they were always out of the lime green Mickey heads so I took the next step and made my own.

Mind you these were the ones that I used in 2005 and with us going again this September I have to make new ones. Plus I have to add the baby in there. I'll see if I can find any pics of them hanging on our door @ POP.

This is a great thread!! I can't wait to get to Pop Century to decorate our window! DBF and I are going 11/30-12/7/07...this will be our first time going for the Xmas season and I can't wait!! I never thought to decorate the door or window before. I think it's a great idea. I'll definitely be doing some decorating!! I'd love to get a little tree and some lights to put in our window.

I told DBF of my plans...he thinks I'm nuts!! Although, he says that now but once he gets there and sees the tree and lights, he'll be loving it! I'm definitely going to get some type of small tree to bring with us....and maybe some lights!!

I've been through all 31 pages of this thread and can't find the answer to the question about the size of the windows at POP. I found two places where the question was asked, but no answers. So does anyone want to take a guess at the approximate size of the windows at POP? I don't expect anyone to pack a tape measure on their vacation or anything. Just a rough guess-timate. 2 feet? 3 feet? 4 feet?
As wide as the room door? Wider? Narrower?
I found the cutest castle transparency thing at Hobby Lobby, but it's rather large. Cant decide whether to pack it or not! Help!

kytiam - the windows are quite large so a bigger window cling will fit nicely.

I can't think of the exact measurments, but i know we did get them on another decorations site...but yes the windows are large.

Also anyone using Christmas lights will need an extension chord at POP.

hahah! the first time i did this, then DF thought i was wierd, but when we got there he got really into it and NOW DH makes BLUE PRINTS of the window with me! and together we decide on a theme and everything!!!

subscribing....I have decorated twice in the past (sorry no picks right now) and am always looking for new ideas. The last time was for ST. Patrick's Day at FW. Both our cabin and golf cart were very festive.

Those are just too cute!! I think I'm going to do something like that for my dd on our trip in June. She turns 7 the day before we leave for our trip, so I think something like that would tickle her to death.

Yes you can use scotch tape, just make sure you get all the little bits off when you check out!
