This is my first time on this board as well as our first time cruising AND with Disney. I have lots and lots of questions but will start with day 1 :)

I'm seeing all of the posts about boarding times. I'm sure we'll figure that out. What are you able to do on board the first day once you get on board and before all of the mandatory saftey things? We are traveling with a 6 and 3 year old, so want to know if we can play or if we are just milling around?

Thanks!

HI and :welcome: Glad you are joining us!!! Ask away, someone will have an answer for you! This will be my 11th cruise and the 11th with Disney.

Once you get on board, you can do whatever you want, basically, usually people head to lunch at Cabanas or Enchanted Garden, then once lunch is over, usually you can get to your stateroom (you usually can't go there until 1:30 because they are cleaning and getting them ready for you). Then you can do whatever you wish...go play! Go swim, wander around and get your bearings!! The only MANDATORY thing you have to do is the drill at 4. Once it's over you are free again, but usually everyone heads to the top decks for the sail away party or gets ready for dinner if they have 1st seating! Hope this answers your question! Ask away, we are a fun group! Check out Philatiger's page for the link to our website and be sure to sign up!!! Also we have a FB site if you are on FB!!!
Again, :welcome: :wave2:

:welcome: Keenanja and family....so glad to have you with us.

I'm Denise and traveling with my friend Sue.

Stephanie pretty much hit on all the first day stuff. If you want to swim on boarding day, dont forget to bring your carry on with you. Its pretty much what you feel like doing.
Normally, we have lunch and look around the ship, then get to our staterooms...we are having a "disboard meet" at 2:45 - 3:45 in the D Lounge so please, come and join us,

please ask any questions, they will get answered here.

Welcome aboard, Bennett family! I'll bet you'll love cruising, especially cruising with Disney. We've done a lot of cruising and Disney is always my favorite. Sounds as though you're already getting some great answers to your questions. You'll probably want to get the kids signed up in the clubs. They have such wonderful activities--be prepared to kiss them good-bye! We had a little guy at our table once who told his mom not to pick him up ;)

OK, Next beginners question. What is the dress for the formal nights?

I can't wait for this cruise, although I can definitely wait for winter :goodvibes

Anything from a nice dress /slacks and dress shirt to full out long gowns and tuxes! It's whatever you want it to be! We love to dress up because we don't do anything that requires it at home (ok I like to dress up so Sulley humors me:goodvibes ) so on Formal night, I wear a long gown and Sulley wears his tux.
Semi formal is cocktail dress and suits for us.

I don't know now with the changes to the dining room dress code change if they will be doing away with that or not. I sure hope not!

Busy weekend for us. Drove to NC on Friday afternoon, 10hrs to get my car. Hotel for the night, pickup car in the morning, drop off rental and 10 hrs back. All I have to say is ugh. But at least I got my car back and it looks good. Last minute airfare was almost 400.00 one way plus I would have to rent a car. Only cost 75.00 I gas for the drive up so saved the money. Mark did the drive with me and we brought the dog too.

On top of that I had to be online for work Friday night at 11PM and then again at 5AM on Saturday. drive home and then back online for work. Again ...ugh

Happy thoughts happy thoughts

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
