December 7, 2013 - Winter Fantasy Cruise

The time you get isn't your boarding time, it's the time you are supposed to arrive at the port. Boarding groups are given out when you check in. The last cruise we were at WDW as well, so even though we had an arrival time of 11, we didn't get there till later than that.

The time before, we were given a choice of three arrival times. 11:30, 12 and12:30. I of course chose 11:30, but arrived at about 9:30 from the airport and I had no problems going ahead and checking in. They are trying to stagger the arrivals to the port so the check-in lines don't get too out of hand. The port opens earlier than boarding begins. You try to get the earliest Port Arrival time so you get an earlier boarding group. People on the first few buses from the airport usually get boarding group two.

Cool, I plan to be there pretty early and hope to get early boarding.

I might be here. Still testing the waters with my employer about the work from home here in Florida. I was planning on going north Oct 13th to the 25th. If things go well I might go up later. I'll know more in September.

I am not a big birthday celebrating kind of guy BUT today I turn 55, yay, some of the senior discounts kick in but the best part is that I get to be in Disney for the first time on my birthday and i get to be with my best friend and partner Mark, I am so excited. I want the birthday pin.

On my 2011 cruise, I had to pick a time for boarding, and since I booked at the 90 day mark, all that was left was 2pm....but we also flew in that morning and used the disney transport from mco to port we got there around 1pm, they checked us in at the airport and we just walked right on the ship...there were only a few people in the terminal.

So I am assuming that it will be the same thing this time, 2pm check in, hoping the radisson will get us there earlier so we will see what happens.

to all about picking arrival time:
If you are taking the Disney transportation to the port arrival time doesn't mean anything. Although this is my first cruise with Disney I think that if you were to book your Disney transportation through Disney/TA the option for port arrival time wouldn't even show up. Either way when you use the bus you don't need an arrival time or it doesn't matter.
