**December 2012 Roll Call** Holidays, FLE Opening & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

We bought our MVMCP pins, I believe, at the gift shop at either Liberty Sqr or Frontier Land. All gift shops stash the exclusive merchandise til after 7pm. Also, when we were there, if you spent $100 (which is SOOOOOOOOOOOO easy to do) we got a MVMCP exclusive fleece blanket of the castle all lit up.

I bought the Christmas lanyard our last trip and it was perfect. It kept our kttw, our fp card, my LGMH (no one noticed) inside and I stuck my Candlelight Processional admission sticker to 1 side. Everything is still intact in the lanyard to this day.

Ugh. $100.....I think I'll stock up on some Disney gift cards between now and December! Was the Christmas lanyard a MVMCP exclusive? Only available at the World?

I NEED that blanket!! :rotfl2: I bought the blanket during regular hours that was offered, but it was just the regular castle. I had seen the blanket with castle lights in people's pictures on here, but I thought it was from the year before. I didnt know they had different ones for MVMCP. Hope they have it at MVMCP this year!! :cool1::cool1:

I don't think the lanyard was a MVMCP exclusive. Just very Christmas-y. In fact, I think I bought it at the EPCOT pin trading center, when I realized 1/2 way through our first day, how much I hated digging into my pocket to get my wallet, to get whichever card I needed at that point. Ok, I'll fess up... I bought some pins too. :thumbsup2

Here's an update from some posts made in July. Thanks to BDLsgal, she took some pics of the lanyard we got on day 1, in 2010, and the free blanket that we for spending $100+ during MVMCP. I hope they offer these again.

Lanyard. This was available at the Pin Trading Station at EPCOT. There are images of Mickey in a Santa suit mingled with an assortment of ornaments and holly. And the pocket is the prfect size to hold your KTTK, photopass card LGMH and have room if you want to keep 1 more type of card in there. Also, the proportions were perfect for me to keep my Candlelight Processional sticker on. So I could preserve it instead of peeling it off my shirt.

Here, I tied a knot in the back. It does run long. But that's on purpose. If you trade pins, you want to maximize your real estate. For, me, I just used it for function.

The fleece blanket is a thing of beauty. I hope everyone has a chance to get 1.

BIG NEWS!!!

Vacation is officially PAID OFF!!!!

The airfare, the hotel, the food, the tickets, the MVMCP...even some supplies, gifts, shirts/customs for us! :thumbsup2

Lucky :) I'm scared I'm not going to be able to pay mine off

BDL - Love the pics, but you are going to make me broke!! I want it ALL!!! :rotfl2:

Not too broke I hope. Remember, the blanket was FREE with the $100 of MVMCP merch. Not that hard. 2 t-shirts and 3-5 pins. I mean, if I saw that blanket for sale, I'd've paid at least $50 for it and not batted an eye. Also, what the pic doesn't show is how soft it is. If anyone has ever hugged Eeryore at Crystal Palace...? It's softer than that.

EDITED: After discussing with BDLsgal, I may have been incorrect. It may be that the blanket is eligible for a significant discount after paying $100. But am still certain, whether free or reduced cost, worth picking up. I apologize for my memory failures.

I really really want that blanket!!!!!!!!!! I know I have already said that, but it's still true. :lmao: My dream would be to have that blanket wrapped around me as I stand on my CR balcony with TPV looking at the Castle Lights. Unfortunately I can only afford the blanket so I will have to pretend the rest in my room at POP. :rotfl:

Congrats JLA! I wish ours was paid off already.

We just came back from Virginia yesterday after attending our great-niece's wedding. Believe it or not she is only 20! But very mature and a pastor's daughter. She is the head baker where she works (even did an event for the White House). Not bad for a 20 year old who was top in her class in college!

Anyway, we came back to find in our mail our DME tags :cool1: Can't wait to get down there!

Unfortunately, the blanket wasn't exactly free. I can't remember the exact cost, but it was around $50. It is true though that you had to purchase $100 or more to be eligble to buy it for that price. I am not sure if you could buy it otherwise. BDL did a good job talking me in to it (and in his defense, he thought it was free because he said he would never be able to talk me in to spending an extra $50), but also it didn't take much convincing. We had turned down other offers like this all through our trip, but this blanket was a must!!! And it is soooo soft.

I would love to get one of these.

Thanks for clarifying. It makes more sense that it was a purchase with a purchase deal. Nothing is free at Disney. :) But I still want the blanket!!!

What special characters will be out on MVMCP? We are going on the last day and have never been to any of the special parties.

I had decided I wasn't going to try for an ADR for BOG and I have been debating about the Wishes Dessert Party. Sooo I talk to DB this weekend and tell him about the ADRs we have. His response--I thought we were eating at the new place in Beast's castle. Apparently my brother with no opinions, now has an opinion. Then I tell him about the dessert party and said we probably don't need a TS meal and the party in the same night. He says why not? One is dinner and the other is dessert and they will be several hours apart. And DH agrees with him. So I guess I am back to waiting for the BOG ADRs and dessert party to open up. :confused3

Here's what I found out ...

All their information lists the 6th Dec as opening, she did not know where the 3rd Dec came from so, she would assume, it was an opening date for the CM's. All new attractions/resorts/restaurants open earlier for the CMs to test-run it first.

As for reservation start date, she said 28th Aug is not set in stone, its a guideline date so she suggested to start calling in the 3rd week of Aug and ask if their information had been updated yet.

When ressies go live, we will be able to book at 6am online, it will not go live via phones first as some have been suggesting.

So, we're still totally in the dark with varying different information :teeth:

OK update. Just called and was told that they will take reservations at the end of August with no exact date known and that dining will start on November 19th! I like that answer.

BDL & BDLSGAL... Love the loot! I have been searching online for a lanyard but I may just wait until we get to WDW. I would like a spiffy Christmas one like you guys have. $50 seems a little steep for that blanket. I wouldn't mind getting one but, I think I'm too cheap for a $50 blanket. $20 sure....$30 erghhh.

I am definitely considering a rental car now that we are paid off. I found a Budget rental for $235 yesterday and will probably be booking it today. All things considered, I think the added convenience of having a car and not waiting for the bus is worth it. We will be able to head to Super Target the night we arrive to get some food/bev, we can eat offsite if we want and park/resort hopping will go a lot quicker.

Isn't the 19th the Start of the "previews"? Not that anyone knows what "preview" even means.

Hi, all! My sister and I are going down to the World December 10 - 14; I'm hoping we'll be able to add another day. Staying at Pop, and attending MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional.

This is the first vacation I've ever planned as an adult so the information I've gotten from these boards has been invaluable. It'll also be the first time either of us have been to the parks for the holidays :santa: I haven't gone to Disney World in 15 years so to say I'm excited is an understatement. I've never even step foot in Animal Kingdom because it hadn't been built yet, LOL.

Reminder!!

Tomorrow is the DEADLINE to enter the Roll Call contest!! If you haven't entered or are curious what the heck I am talking about, go visit the 2nd post of this thread.
