Nice! What was your second booking??? I missed that announcement! We're planning either a MNSSHP 2013 or anoher MVMCP 2013. We are waiting until January to book so we can gauge how much we like December. Planning on renting DVC points next time and staying Deluxe!! ::yes::

How do you "rent DVC points"? The only deluxe I've stayed at was Wilderness Lodge and I honestly can't imagine loving another deluxe as much as I loved that one......of course, I didn't know how much I would love that one before I stayed there either ::yes:: Hubby and I are going this December and staying at POR and I already ready to book maybe an October visit in 2013 (don't tell hubby). :rotfl2:

BDL & BDLSGAL... Love the loot! I have been searching online for a lanyard but I may just wait until we get to WDW. I would like a spiffy Christmas one like you guys have. $50 seems a little steep for that blanket. I wouldn't mind getting one but, I think I'm too cheap for a $50 blanket. $20 sure....$30 erghhh.

I am definitely considering a rental car now that we are paid off. I found a Budget rental for $235 yesterday and will probably be booking it today. All things considered, I think the added convenience of having a car and not waiting for the bus is worth it. We will be able to head to Super Target the night we arrive to get some food/bev, we can eat offsite if we want and park/resort hopping will go a lot quicker.

It does seem a bit steep for the blanket and initially I had said we should pass it up. But BDL insisted mostly because of my reaction of seeing the castle first on the HGTV special we saw (which is what made BDL plan that surprise trip) as well as live that evening. I am sorta obsessed with the castle lit up like that, so for us it was a good investment. Plus it was our first trip together so it was all about having a blowout time. This time around we may not be as frivolous.

Thanks for clarifying. It makes more sense that it was a purchase with a purchase deal. Nothing is free at Disney. :) But I still want the blanket!!!

Part of the reason I was ok with it is because a lot of the stuff we had bought that night were gifts for others (a couple of things for ourselves too but not much) and I figured if we spent as much as we did for everyone else, why not really that ourselves! I don't regret it at all :)

Sooooo, I just popped out to the store. Pulled my fleece out of the dryer quickly and put it on, dashed to the store, came back, pulled my fleece off and thought "Whats that?"

There was a pair of my knickers stuck to the back with static .... and there was someone behind me when I paid. They didn't say a thing

Well, there is a entire board section here on the DIS about renting DVC. I have been going to www.dvcrequest.com though for my "info". He is an advertiser here on the board and is very reputable. Example 8 nights in December 2013 could be as low as $1051 (Animal Kingdom Value Studio).

You are right... $50 at WDW doesn't go far, maybe it was a sensible purchase!! I'm not much of a souvenir person though. I usually tend to buy 1 "nicer" item for myself.... DH wants nothing....and I'm sure DD will want EVERYTHING. Last souvenir I bought myself at WDW was in 2001!! I bought a $60-&70 pair of PJS that DH left in the cab!!!

I agree, from an owner view, David is great to work with. We had to rent out some points earlier this year when I forgot to bank :headache: If you search the DVC forums, you will find good info about his service. He is a member here on the DIS, too.

Sorry I haven't been around here recently. I just finished day six of seven straight 12 hour work days...and I've been held over even longer four of those days. But after tomorrow, I don't work again until Monday :cool1:

Just a reminder, Our contest ends tomorrow at 9PM EDT!!! Be sure to get your guesses in ASAP! Details are on the top of post #2!

So excited....we leave tomorrow morning for a week in Disney:) We didn't plan to go but we got great airfare....I also realized that we can enjoy more of the Christmas events and not worry too much about the rides if we get it out of our system now:) Hoping I sleep tonight! ;)
