Sorry, I don't know the answer to the egg nog question for sure. I've never seen any, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. I really try to only post things I have experienced personally--that way, if I'm wrong, at least I know it's something that has changed.
Sue Ellen--have you thought about a wheelchair or motorized scooter on the ship? Obviously, I know nothing of your situation. In September, I cruised with a friend who walks at home with braces and a cane or crutches. However, for a mall or other distances, she uses a wheelchair. I TOLD her (and enlisted her college age daughter to reinforce it) that she would use the wheelchair on the ship. Her comment after the fact was that if she started at the forward part of the ship before breakfast, she might make it to the dining room by dinner. As you pointed out, in addition to speed, I was seriously concerned about her balance and falling with the motion of the ship.
If you think it would be useful, you can rent a scooter from Brevard County Medical. They will deliver it to the ship and pick it up after the cruise. Your room host will take it to his cubby area and charge it each night for you if you don't use it in your cabin.
I get horribly sea sick on small boats (thinking a 26 foot cabin cruiser). NO PROBLEM at all on
DCL. The ship has great stabilizers. Yes, I've been on board during some storms and pretty rough seas. It doesn't happen to me. Tell yourself that you'll be fine, and odds are that you will. If you plan to do drugs, do start them 24 hours in advance. Works much better that starting them after you're not feeling well.
And...for anyone who cares, Brent is definitely back from vacation and will be our CD (Christiaan told me this in September, but things can change. And David is supposedly on the ship. If he is, DO NOT miss pub night (Diversions, 11 pm on the last night...right after "till we meet again."
It is so nice as the snow is coming down and the rest of the week is supposed to be worse (colder, stormy) to be thinking "One week from now I will be....."
