Dec 5, 2009 -- now traveling to Tortola

Well, since we haven't cruised with Disney, I'll give favorite food types in general:
Me (Amy): I love grazing with appetizers, and my favorite entree type is seafood. However, I have had my share of yummy souffles on other cruise lines, so I look forward to trying Disney's!
DH (Gary): Comfort food (things like roast, shepherd's pie, etc) and sushi
DD9 (Julia): Almost anything that's breaded (that's really what she said)
DD4 (Olivia): Cheese

We are looking forward to trying the cheese tray and mickey bars from room service.

Buzz or Woody: I don't think any of us really have a preference one way or the other - our DDs are more into fairies and princesses :-)

Hi!
can I post a question?

what is everyone's favorite restaurant on the ship?

and for those who haven't cruised with Disney yet, what
is your favorite type of food to eat?
desserts? pizza? snacks?

and what is your favorite room service item?
I've never tried that but want to. I'm never hungry in our room
since we eat so much all thru the day! :lmao:

We finally tried out room service on the last cruise and got the steak sandwiches for an early dinner on Pirate night so DH could have a turkey leg at the pirate party. The sandwiches were very yummy.

What is your cabin number? I saw on the ships layout there is a conference room across from us. I'm hoping for quiet nights, since we have to get up early two mornings because of early excursions.

You'll have to stop down to say hi, I doubt you'll miss our door. We are Steelers fans and on our last cruise we decorated our door as such. We'll be doing it again this time. Hopefully no one will steal our magnets. We had our DVC magnet stolen (or moved to another door, not sure) last time.

Thanks! Rosemary

We are in 2554. We being me, my wife and our two year old.

just wondering ....

was it the FE list?

wuv tigger

I am so sorry I missed you, Since your pm was sent to me from Hadley you didn't make it on my "make sure you have everyone who pm'd you on the list" list...:surfweb:

OK everyone Add 1 more cabin to the list 2A2C.... I will send the FINAL final list out on the 30th of October....just wanted to send this one out to make sure I caught any changes that needed to be made.

On our 1st cruise we had rooms 2066 and 2068
We loved these rooms, no one across the hall from us, just a few steps to the stairs and laundry room. When we needed to go to decks 3 & 4 it was so much easier to just use the stairs. We thought that it would be noisy with the elevator just right there but we never heard anything.

What is everyone's favorite restaurant on the ship?
Lumiere's, It is so peaceful in the mornings for breakfast...

and what is your favorite room service item?
We are going to try to order cookies and :mickeybar this time...

same here but we are going to try harder this time :lmao::lmao:

I ask my kids this all the time too.

Who is your favorite, ..Buzz or Woody?

:goodvibes
Me -both they are equally cute and funny.... Keegan woody Kyler buzz

FE-Request
Will everyone please PM me their new room number so I can make sure I update the list correctly. Thanks. Can you please put new cabin # in the title Thanks

The lanyard team ordered the lanyards this week, so they will arrive in plenty of time for the cruise. The cost was over $200, and while the team is graciously chipping in for this, we would still welcome some additional donations.

So far, I have received a total of $45. If you are interested in chipping in, PM me. You can even do it via PayPal if you'd like. I am keeping track of who gave me what amount, so if by chance I collect too much money, I will return some money to those who donated the highest amounts.

The lanyard team is also spending time designing and printing the badge inserts, as well as distributing the lanyards on the ship, so I would love to be able to reimburse them some cash in exchange for all of their efforts :goodvibes

Thanks in advance,

Amy

Favorite restaurant/food for us:
Breakfast: Dh and I like Parrot Cay a tad better than Topsiders/Beach Blanket Buffet. The boys like them both too.
Lunch: I like Goofy's Galley for the wraps, paninis and fruit. DH loves the buffet. Keegan loves the chicken strips. Brennan favors the pizza or burgers.
Dinner: I like them all but AP tends to be my favorite because it was the 1st one we ate in on our first DCL cruise. I like being in Parrot Cay on Pirate night and Lumieres/Tritons on Formal night. I like Palo any night.

I think we've ordered just about everything from room service one time or another and liked them all.

As far as Buzz/Woody, I tend to like Woody better.

I was in Grad school for clinical psychology when the 1st Toy Story came out and we had a homework assignment to diagnose the characters. It was a very interesting assignment!

That sounds very cool. I love it when teachers find interesting ways to help you learn.

Hi everyone,

I am new to the site, and I am traveling on the 12/5/09 cruise to Tortola. I'll be cruising on my own and staying at Boardwalk Villas prior to the cruise and at AKL - Kidani Village afterwards.

I hope to meet some of you on the ship!

What is everyone's favorite restaurant on the ship?

Never cruised with Disney before, but I hope it will be the Palo dinner that my sweetie and I can get away to on the Thursday night. (We won't come back until dawn! - Hmm, wonder if they have an extra stateroom for one night!:love2:

and for those who haven't cruised with Disney yet, what is your favorite type of food to eat? desserts? pizza? snacks?

I'll take the nice rich type foods we hardly ever have. Something like Lobster or a nice juicy medium rare steak.

and what is your favorite room service item?

Who has time for room service??? When we get to the room, we're either changing or going to bed!

Who do you prefer? Woody or Buzz?

Christine prefers Woody.
Myself, I can't separate Woody from Buzz. They are a team and will remain so with me.

Are you looking at the deck plans on the DIS? They are old. The "conference rooms" are now Ocean Quest. There does tend to be a fair amount of activity in that stairwell with the 11-14 set heading in and out of Ocean Quest--but I have never really seen it spill over into the halls at all.

I got my stateroom changed to 2136 :-)
:thumbsup2

Hi and Welcome (to the DIS and the cruise) Scot:goodvibes We will be at Kidani village with my best friends before the cruise. I have not been yet, but Erik and Jason (aforementioned freinds) have and loved it. Have you been there before?
Is this your first DCL cruise? 20th? Somewhere in between:confused3

Hi I just booked this cruise and was wondering who else may be going on this cruise also.

There will be 6 of us. Myself - Vicki, DH Marty, DD 11, DS 6, DD 5 and DS 2.

I am excited  as we have never done a 7 night cruise before, just the 3 and 4 nite cruises!

Vicki

Hi,

I wish you to have a safe cruise travel.

At the cruise terminal, baggage is given to the porters for loading to the ship Make sure that your suitcase is uniquely marked so that someone does not take your luggage by mistake. On cruise you put a colored tag on your luggage and place it outside the cabin the night before you reach your final port, and pick it up ashore in the terminal.

.

Silly boy--that is why you have brought your mother along:rotfl2: Honestly, IF the kids do want to have a sleep over with grandmother and grandmother is okay with it, you can usaully do that. Just very nicely ask the stateroom host (or both hosts if your rooms are not next to each other with the same one) to please make up the beds in the other cabin for the one night and leaves your with a sofa and they will be happy to do that for you. Of course, this assumes that you might actually enjoy doing something other than change or sleep in the cabin (you know--like ordering room service after all. . .)

This is a very odd first post for someone who is not only new to the thread but also to the boards:confused3 I am sorry, did you post on the wrong thread by mistake? If not, if you are on our cruise please introduce yourself.

Hadley,

This is my second disney cruise. My first was the 4th cruise for DCL. I stayed once before at AKL, again years ago. I joined DVC about a year ago, so I am using points for this one, in a Navigators' Veranda.
