Dec 30/31 early fireworks?

Hi I’m so sorry to ask this but I just can’t find the answer on any of my searches!

We are going to be at WDW this New Years and I’m trying to find out if the early evening fireworks are the same as the late night ones on 30th/31st?

We visited at New Years a few years ago and the fireworks at midnight (when they go right around the lake 360 degrees) were without a doubt the highlight of our Christmas trips for me - I know they do the same full show on 30th at midnight, but I noticed that this past year there were also fireworks on both of those evenings much earlier (6.30pm I believe) - can anyone tell me whether those early showings were the full 360 experience or a ‘watered’ down version?!

The 6:30pm and 11:50pm MK fireworks shows on both 12/30 & 12/31 are the the same “Fantasy in the Sky” show with a new year countdown tag ending for all four times.

The only difference is that the 6:30pm show on both nights is a “180 degree” show utilizing launch points surrounding the MK. The 11:50pm show on both nights is the so-called “360 degree” show which adds an island launch point in the middle of the 7 Seas Lagoon. This launch point effectively mirrors/simulcasts the main traditional behind the MK launch point fireworks. This is mainly more of a benefit for those viewing from the MK resorts and surrounding areas than those inside the MK.

We are staying at Bay Lake Tower on 30th & I’m hoping to watch one lot inside the park and one from our room. So sounds like it would be better to see the early show inside the park (I’m assuming the 180 degree show is still an ‘upgrade’ from the regular fireworks?) and the midnight one in our room.

That’s what we do - watch the early show from in the park and the late show from back at Poly. Best of both worlds and straight to bed afterwards with no traffic.

Sounds like a good plan to me!
