What is the best way to purchase park tickets and which package should I buy. I see alot of ticket offers on E-Bay. Has anyone purchased them there. Thanks for your Help!
Are you a Disney Commando, you spend all day every day of your trip in the parks or do you only plan to spend a day or two or three. If you are the Commando type and can spend more than 8-10 days in the paqrks during the next 12 monthes then an AP or PAP may be for you. If only 4-5 days and not every day then a park hopper with days that never expire maybe rightr for you. http://www.mousesavers.com/ this is a website that may be able to help you answer your questions and tell you how to save money.
Best deal I have found so far is Florida Orlando Tickets.com
just purchased 7 Day Park Hopper Plus Passes from them at $298
each including tax.
Same ticket purchased at Disney Resort or gate is $319 plus tax or from Disney online $307 plus tax.
Tax is 6.5%
They sell the exact same tickets you would buy at the gate.
www.paramountinternationaltravel.com has 7 day hopper pluses for $300 and they include a voucher for a free breakfast at WDW. They do not advertise the breakfast due to contractual agreements, but if you call them they will tell you about it.
If you are looking for a 5 day Hopper Plus has the best price that I have seen - $238 for the adult ticket.
You need to decide first which tix you want. (snowgod is right.) Then check the sites. For instance, I DIDN'T want PLUS tickets since we'll only have 4 days (one per park) and no time for the extras. In addition, we're going in Dec., so water parks aren't as interesting to us. Here's what I found based on WHAT I WANTED:
(prices list 4Day PH adult (10 and up)/child (ages 3-9) Disney Store 192/152
obviously no shipping and I'd pay higher sales tax here (6.5% in FL versus 8.25% here)
Disney web site 192/152
same price but I'd pay $3 shipping but FL sales tax I think.
paramountinternationaltravel.com only sold 5-day PHP
floridaorlandotickets.net 203/164
that includes tax, $7 shipping unless you want express
centralfloridatravel.com 202/162
that includes tax, shipping also $7
ticketmania 203/162
includes tax, shipping free right now...says limited time but I didn't see expiration.
So for us, ticketmania was the best total price, but I only saved about $9 over the Disney site. But hey, that's $9 more I'll have to spend on something else!
Many of these also will deliver the passes to your hotel/villa. Bottom line is that there aren't any deep discounts. You can join something like Connections or AAA but I'd say only do it if you like the whole package--don't do it just to get the discount on entry tix since it doesn't really pay for itself. [This is also assuming you've checked special discounts you may get with your company, military discounts, FL resident or other such things.]
