~ DEADLIEST CATCH ~ Season 6

Are they maybe referring to the 1 hour of "after the catch" show that typically follows? Maybe that is what makes it 2 hours...the regular show and the after show??:confused3

It's a special 2 hour show and I think it's supposed to be mainly about Phil.

me and my mom were talking about this, we kinda figured that there will be an episode from 9-10 then a "tribute" type after the catch following from 10-11 and being that it will all about Captain Phil, they just clumped as a 2 hour Deadliest Catch :confused3

whatever way this is gonna be so flippin' sad :sad1: get your tissue's ready :sad1:

It sure will be sad. I cried during the last two weeks episodes, tonight will be a sobfest. :sad1:

I teared up when they showed the clip on The Tonight Show last night, so I am sure to be in need of tissues tonight.

That's what it looks like on the Discovery Channel site.

A 1 hour Deadliest Catch episode titled Redemption Day and then a tribute show on After the Catch called The Good Captain Phil with his family and the other captains.

I will only be watching one hour. Discovery channel that I get will not be doing the 2 hour show. I am really miffed and think I might call my carrier tomorrow. This isn't the only thing I want to talk to them about.

I thought it touching that Jonathan said he was going to take Josh as a deckhand and Sig was taking Jake if things didn't work out for them on the Cornelia Marie. You could see the warmth between the "Captains" and Phil's sons. I was especially impressed with Jonathan through the whole thing. On another note, I really do not care for Keith.

It was good, and I think next week will be rough to watch, when everyone finds out :sad2:

Not a Keith fan here either, I just always get the "vibe" from the other Captains (and I could be off base here, just a personal thing) that Keith annoys them and that they "put up" with him...again maybe its me :confused3Sometimes when he talks and thinks something funny, no body else laughs or says anything....:confused3

Anyway I felt so bad that Jake left and wasnt there when his Dad passed away...I know that it is what Phil wanted but still I am sure even harder on the poor kid...

That's the same feeling I get. He seems to interject a meaningless comment into every conversation or situation.

The show only was an hour. After The Catch was the 2nd hour.

I thought it touching that Jonathan said he was going to take Josh as a deckhand and Sig was taking Jake if things didn't work out for them on the Cornilia Marie. You could see the warmth between the "Captains" and Phil's sons. I was especially impressed with Jonathan through the whole thing. On another note, I really do not care for Keith.

IIRC, when Josh was on The Tonight Show, he said they were in the process of trying to come up with $2 million to either take over the Cornelia Marie or get it back up and running.

And I agree with the PP that said Keith doesn't seem that well-liked.

The show I watched last night was the show you all watched last week and next week is only one hour and I assume it is the show that you all watched last night. We don't seem to get a lot of After the Catch shows.

did you all watch last night?...man that was some sad tv :sad2:

I felt bad for everyone involved of course, his crew had me crying like a baby in the first couple minutes...but I gotta tell ya... the way Sig found out :sad1:
man I think i sobbed a little, god that was sad...

I really liked the "after" show it was a nice touch

RIP Captain Phil :littleangel:

That was so sad last night. I think what always gets me is when the strong guys - the ones that you don't expect to cry, start bawling. Definitely couldn't hold back the tears. I think Discovery has done a great job at keeping the episodes in good taste and memorializing Phil the way that he should be.

I have to admit that I thought Discovery was really going do this in bad taste. But I thought they did a nice job. It was a very touching episode.

I have mixed feelings on Keith, but I was very impressed with how he honored Phil in last nights episode. Leaving the full pot out there in Phils memory, and having the bell toll 8 times in silence - yeah, I was tearing up! Phil was always my favorite, and I feel terrible for his boys, but glad they got to spend a lot of time with him...not many people are that lucky.

Why on earth would you have thought that:confused3

Now if it had been ABC or a regular news magazine type show then I could see that. but I think Discovery knows how much Phil was loved by the fans and obviously respected by the fleet. Besides, the camera men seem to have lots of autonomy and film what they feel is appropriate. They did a wonderful job with the whole thing. Now I'm stuck dealing with void that will come with his absence. Don't know if I'll feel the same about the show now that he's gone.

Up here in Canada we are a week behind you in episodes so we just saw the one where he died. It looks like I'd better have Kleenex ready for next weeks episode when everyone finds out.
