I've read that Josh is trying to quit smoking. I noticed last night on After the Catch that he was holding what looked like a pen and put that in his mouth.

This has been a rough season to watch overall. My father was a commercial fisherman, and he died on the boat in an accident in 1980(I was 4). Seeing the raw emotions from the other captains is hearbreaking.

On Josh's website it says the Tonight show appearance is July 14th, but on the Captain Phil website is says July 12th??

DH and I are going to see Sig and Josh at a local fundraiser in September it is a tribute to Captain Phil who was at the same fundraiser last year. It will be interesting to see what they have to say.

DH went last year and Captain Phil was very candid -- said he did not eat crab and said no one really got along too well with Captain Keith.

In December 2008, dh and I got to meet Sig and Edgar when they appeared at Norway in Epcot. It was a blast. The photopass photographer was there and we got some great pics with the guys.

I watched last night's show and ever since then I've been kind of thinking about something all day. It involves the 2 Jakes.

These 2 guys seem to have bonded and become pretty good friends. Last night when Jake H. was in a pretty dark place, he called Jake A. on the Northwestern to talk. They also showed that Jake A. was celebrating being 6 months clean. Knowing that Jake H. is suffering from an addiction himself, I wonder if Jake A. will somehow help Jake H. get the help he needs.

Also, when the guys on the Northwestern were about to give Jake the cupcake, Edgar said he's been clean for <mumble mumble> months. Did anyone catch how long he said?

I think it was either 9 or 18. I know one of the guys said they had been for 9 and another 18 but can't remember who was who.

Hopefully being around others who are sober will help them all. Kind of like when a band (Aerosmith) all go to rehab together.

Yep, that's him. I mentioned to DH that I had noticed a change in his behavior this season, and being clean/sober explains a lot.

Several seasons ago, Matt had a court date that he had to get back for after one of the fishing trips. I thought Sig or Edgar mentioned that Matt was clean and getting his life back on track. (That was when they painted inmate stripes on his orange rain gear.)

On last night's show, I thought Edgar said Jake was celebrating 6 months and that is why he got 1/2 a candle.

The "Tonight Show" desription shows that Josh and Jonathan will be on tonight.

The commercials for tonights show say that it is 2 hrs. but my guide only says one hour. Either they are going to do 2 one hour shows a week a part or the guide is wrong. I have to play baseball tonight and will get home near .9 so I am going to PVR the show that starts at 9 and then continue it until 11. Hopefully I will get it and it is 2 hrs.

Are they maybe referring to the 1 hour of "after the catch" show that typically follows? Maybe that is what makes it 2 hours...the regular show and the after show??
