DDE - am I too late?

I finally decided that it might be worthwhile for me to get the DDE. However, I've procrastinated so long that I'm concerned that if I order it today, I might not get it in time. I read on disneyworld.com that it takes 2-3 weeks to process, I am leaving on 5/22. Does anyone know what happens if it doesn't get there in time? (I read on their site that this cannot be purchased on site).

Call Monday and apply and ask that they send you a letter of confirmation in the mail to use since you won't get your cards in time.

We will be at WDW on 5/1. I ordered our DDE this past Thursday. She said that our temporary cards would be waiting at Guest Services at Epcot by 5:30 Thursday afternoon! I've read similar comments from others on this board that there were no problems using temporary cards or letters.

We ordered ours recentlly and have a trip planned next week. They just emailed us the letter the very next day.

Unfortunately, the DDE processing time has been bumped up to 6-8 weeks, but they'll email you a letter to use in place of the permanent card. No problemo!

Recent reports are that they are no longer e-mailing the letters. The letters were in word doc form and the name could easily be edited and reprinted. So now they are mailing letters if there is enough time or holding them at Epcot's main entrance.

I ordered my card earlier this week. Today I received a letter in the mail that I can use until June 15th. Hopefully by that time we will have our cards. We are not going until July. Very fast turn around.

I ordered my card few days ago and just got confirmation letter in the mail. When I mentioned to CRO that I had heard you pick up your card in Epcot, she had no idea what I was talking about.

so if I don't receive card in June,will just use letter...although letter is hard to carry around...really not convenient at all..can't imagine. Disney can't preprint a small card somehow..
find it so unrealistic that it takes 6-8 weeks for plastic card.

I called this past Monday and got my letter today....I am going may 20th ..I say call Monday morning, they will get the letter to you in time!

And I am surprised an expiration date was given for the middle of a month.

I can use until June 15th

I wonder if they changed that too. What I had been reading was everyone's expiry date was always at a month end.

Either way I SHOULD be receiving my renewal cards soon. After all this waiting I just hope they are correct.

The official answer is "no". I think some people have been able to, but they weren't suppose to be able to use the DDE discount.

I ordered mine in March 22nd. I wonder now if I'll even have it for our June trip it's 11 weeks from the order date.

You should have it by then. If you don't have it a couple weeks before your trip, ask them to send you the letter.

I will, but I did call them on April 13th for a letter and I have not received one. People have ordered their cards since that date and already have received a letter. I just don't need something else "to forget" to do before our trip!
