Those years are going by fast. I now have a teen and a tween. My next phase is HS.

A freshman in HS and a tween here. It has been a pretty smooth adjustment to high school once we realized that most teachers don't teach anymore and just expect the kids to read the books and learn on their own. We have now jettisoned the MCAS testing and instituted a new standard called PARC. Either way, I do not have standard kids so it will be interesting. DS has been on the honor roll so far. Has a 79 in one class with a week and 2 tests remaining. He is confident that the C+ will be a B by the end of the week. He takes all honors courses so I think he is doing well.

Well, now it's getting serious. The wife has now taken over the looking at houses in the Orlando area. Retirement is 12-24 months off and the search is on.

I'm thinking it will be a long distance relationship when I retire. I'll move to FL and work at Disney. DW will stay in New England. Good luck in the search. I'm a little jealous of both the retirement and the planned location for the golden years.

Why yes it is. I'm flying to Orlando on Sunday morning and start the drive back on Thursday. I'm planning on getting in a day at EPCOT, either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Busy couple of days. The Brit, another couple, the Pirate Princess and I head to Belize on Thursday. Lot of stuff to pack to get ready and right now we are ahead of the game. Highlight of the trip (hopefully) is to dive with Whale Sharks. Planning and paying started 18 months ago and I can't believe it is finally here. The kid is peeing her pants excited about it.

Say it brother. Me? I am going to enjoy a chuckle or two when the kids of these young pups start driving. Good luck guys, if I can get through it, anyone can. As Dori says, "Just keep swimming."

DS is 2 years away from driving. He has already driven in an empty parking lot and not hit anything so I have that going for me. I told DD over the weekend that she is not allowed to date until she is 28 years old. She said OK, anything I want. What a great kid. Now all I have to do is hire the PI to follow her around for the next 16 years.

Is there anywhere interesting to stop?

If it is the same route as last time we will follow the 95 north as far as Fredericksburg and then go west until we hit the 81. Follow that north through Pennsylvania before heading east again around Scranton on the 84. We pick the 95 up again in Mass.

I hear the Red Sox are playing again and the Boston area is delightful in Spring.

I bought a cheap one at Walmart and have it anchored with water in the mobile base. It is still at 9 feet. I play against both my dds, and they kept the score close until they started fighting. My knee hurts too bad to spin anymore.

Don't you know that when you get old and can't beat them athletically that the goal is to work on the 3 point shot? DS is just about that age where I am not able to beat him anymore. It's about 50/50. Pretty soon I'm going to have to embrace the team sparrow ways and find a way to cheat. Take what you can........give nothing back.

No. You just lose the gold and elixir that they steal. Other than that everything regenerates automatically.

It's a fun distraction. I'm enjoying it, but it is a slow process to build.

Good Morning Everyone! Hope all are well. Prayers where needed, congrats where deserved and it's not Monday.

Sorry I have missed the last few weeks. Things have been crazy with sports, house repairs, work and just plain busy. DS made the HS freshman baseball team and is also playing club hoops. They are 2-3 after w weeks. DD is playing club hoops and town softball. Hoop team is 2-0 and softball will probably start in about 2 weeks when the snow clears and the fields are dry enough to play. Looks like she is being bumped up to play with the 8th grade girls this season.

House repairs from the roof damage are underway. DW decided that since we had painters coming to do the work anyway, that it would be a good idea t have them paint the whole house. Still need to get the actual shingles done, but that can be done before winter.

I'm going to try to go back and see what I missed. August can't get here soon enough.

Nice to hear from ya again, Congrats to the kids, sorry about the repairs and DW "expanding" on the home improvements

My computer keeps going in and out as far as Internet at work. I am able to access some today so hopefully it means something is working better. I'll try to keep p to date now. Looks like the big bad Bruins might actually squeak into the playoff. Unlikely we would get far enough to have another Hawks/Bruins match up, but at least we'll get some playoff hockey before they blow it up after the season.

That "not much" could be considered a compliment, since the things I was hunting for were very much skewed off toward the offbeat, strange, wacky and easily ignored points of "interest". As I was searching trough MA, I kept turning up legitimate historical sites and significant landmarks (not my quarry at the time). There just wasn't much that fit the bill as being - shall we say - strange. I didn't have much listed for either Carolina either. But that wasn't because we lacked for the ridiculous, it was more a matter of I-95 having been built smack through the great big empty parts of my stomping grounds.

I think I'm still full from Sunday's dinner.

We ate like dogs both Saturday AND Sunday. Had a fantastic Steak Dinner at the in-laws Saturday then my side came to our house for a Sunday potluck style Dinner. Mom's cooking still rocks!


In case any of you are Civil War buffs and in the Central Virginia area in the next week or so, there are lots of goings on for the 150th anniversary in Appomattox. A few folks I know are participating in the historical demonstrations and reenactments starting today.

OK. So I learned early that if you take all 3 soldiers and attack, you lose them.....even if you win and they are still alive. Not cool man. Now I have to build all 3 again.

Don't worry..you'll get to the point where the cost of troops isn't a big deal at all. I do agree that losing them no matter the outcome is a little disappointing. Especially when they start costing thousands to create.

Once you're ready to join a clan, look us up under "Disneyworld". Identify yourself as a fellow DisDad in your request and we'll get you accepted asap.

Oh yeah... there's that... Ok, when you attack, you lose whatever army you use in the attack. But when you are attacked, you only lose the resources they steal from your city.

Seriously though, I'm the lowest rung on the ladder in our clan. I hardly know anything.

Afternoon from sunny Belize (technically it is 11:00 am). It looks like I will not be hitting the water this trip. In order to do the more desirable dives, you need to first do a check out dive. Long story but every time I wanted to do the non-restrictive dive something happened. Was going out today, but everyone took the day off. Not a big deal because the dives were not great. They saw some big stuff (no whale sharks) but not a lot of fish plus conditions are not great.

We are having a blast though. The resort is fantastic, food is gourmet quality and the staff out Disney's, Disney Coustomer's service. Will try to post some pictures but it is cumbersome with the iPad.

Randall, sorry you are back but it looked like a good time was had by all.

Had to stop by the club house for a mental break. Else I may physically harm people in the office. On a brighter note, I am rapidly approaching the 180 day mark for our October Trip! There will be an official family meeting this week to finalize our itinerary. Unfortunately, the NFL doesn't release their game times until after I book our ADRs. I'm hoping that I am blessed with a bye, SNF or MNF.
