I agree...... shut up.

He's like that all the time, pkondz.

Laugh all you want, but a little break in the heat is a welcome relief. Since April, it was mostly Animal Kingdom hot down here. Record temps were common and try to do something normal outside without being drenched in sweat. I know the A/C is breathing a sigh of relief to get a break.

What the heck was up with the SEC schedule this week anyway? Most teams schedule those kinds of games the first 2 weeks of the season, not the last 2 weeks of the season.

Look at it this way...
at least it wasn't as bad as South Carolina's weekend.

Big rivalry games next week and most of the SEC schedules cupcakes this week. Ugliest football this time of year but usually they are blowouts. And Florida could have easily suffered the same fate as USC. Next weekend is going to be tough for Florida.

Also wanted to share my weekend adventure with my bacon loving brethren. After curing for a week in the fridge, I smoked 13.5 of pork belly to make my own bacon. Fellas, if you've never done this and you have/enjoy doing some smoking (as in BBQ), you need to try this sometime. You will never buy another pound of bacon from the supermarket again!

Drooling right now. Would love to do that but the old Webber isn't the best smoker.

After a week of PT, the range of motion is returning and that's a good thing.
Just wish the numbness would clear up in my fingers.
Just gott'a remember, it could have been much worse.
[/complaine mode]

Trust me, that is the attitude to take. PT sucks and the therapists can be outright cruel but they have big hearts. It will get better.

What's your method? I would like to try this, but have never smoked anything before.

PM me your address, I'll send you ours.
Holy smokes! (Sure... pun intended. Why not.) Does that ever look good!
What do you use as a smoker?

I've got a Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5" charcoal smoker. I add some apple chucks and hickory chips ontop of the charcoal and let her do her thing. Once I get the temperature set through controlling the dampers on the bottom, it's pretty much set-it and forget-it.

I'm a big UT fan and we've got Vandy. While this should be a cupcake game, I'm a little worried that the 'Dors may surprise us!

I still think there should be 8 team playoff, and that undefeated teams should be in playoff over the 1 loss teams".
Not that my opinion matters, but seeing how the power conferences don't want to give up their seat at the big kids table, but I really feel like it should be an 8 team tournament. Give an automatic bid to the champion of each of the power 5 conferences, give a bid to the highest ranking champion of one of the smaller conferences, 1 bid will be at-large/Notre Dame, because you know Notre Dame will yell and scream until they get in and then the last spot would be a true at-large bid. Honestly, that still doesn't necessarily guarantee that no unbeaten teams will be left out, but that's about as fair of a way as it can be done and it makes that conference championship just a little more meaningful.

Dining Plan ?????? Thoughts on this topic and if you do or do not use dining plan. When I think about not doing the plan, I run the numbers and find we come out ahead with the plan but interested to see if others validate my thinking.

Trying to get 5 days into 2.5 this week but for those of us south of hockey land we are almost done with what I hope is a 3 day work week for as many as possible. Will try to get caught up here tonight of tomorrow.

Dining Plan ??????

I think when I ran the numbers on dining plan vs. non-dining plan it was fairly close (been a while since I did it). I like having the dining plan, but it's not really b\c I think it saves me $$. I think the savings is marginal unless you really put in the effort to get the most out of your dining plan (aka eat the most expensive things you can find).

I like the dining plan. It isn't a money saver, per se, but it does make it more convenient. I think you've really already answered this question. If you ran the numbers and come out a little bit ahead, I'd go with it.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Thanks for the feedback on the dining plan - just nice to sanity check things once in a while. Half day today so only a few more hours till the start of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Supposed to rain here Friday - Sunday so good thing I finished off the outdoor decorations last weekend. Just need to set the timers and all done. DD got home yesterday and bless her, as she went straight to an 8 hour shift. She works summers, holidays and weekend here and there at a local assisted living facility. It's nice having to coach her to slow down some and just have fun as opposed to having constantly "push" the kids as several of our friends are dealing with. We are definitely blessed.

TO those that won't be able to check in over the next few days have a Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to anyone hitting the road.

Watch for the extraction beacon. Going to the in-laws for Thanksgiving today. It was supposed to be tomorrow but when SWMBO found out her brother and family were coming she made her parents reschedule for us so she wouldn't have to see him. Unfortunately in doing so we now have two of her aunts and a cousin coming today as well. Going to be a very looonngg day with no adult beverage to cut the pain.

A&M had more trouble with them than they should have last week; don't over look the game.

Dining Plan ??????
I think if you can come out even a little bit ahead without changing the way you normally eat it is worth. It doesn't work out for us because we are too cheap the way we eat. Generally just 1 or 2 QS meals at the parks; we pack snacks and small meals to take in and eat breakfast in the room before we leave. Also we travel in late summer so big sit down meals aren't really in the plan.

Welcome aboard.
Norm will be along shortly to collect the dues; he seems to be having trouble with his post office in getting those distributed so you may need to send them directly to all of us.

I like it but may not use it so much in the future and focus more on counter service meals. The kids aren't as into the characters anymore and it will loosen up the schedule.

Don't you have to work today? I'm sure there's some emergency to tend to!

It kind of depends whether you want to get desserts or not, but we've gone a couple of times where the regular dining plan didn't make sense, but we did the QSDP and paid for a couple of TS meals out of pocket. Like anything though, it just really depends where you're going to eat and what you're going to get. But if you're going to have a lunch at BoG, grab some ribs at Flame Tree, etc. it really doesn't take long for the QSDP to make a lot of sense. Like the regular DP though, YMMV.
