Stay safe out there gents!

Hey guys, just checking in. Back at work this week. Mentally preparing for a 2 day training course on new company software this Wednesday. Oh the fun.

The weather in these parts has improved somewhat, but still not great.April came in as the rainiest month ever on record (since the 1940’s). If anyone’s interested,we suffered 292m, normal is about 90. Sorry, you’ll have to convert to inches yourselves.

My DD's dance studio put on two performances Sunday, so I took the girl to watch one of the two performances. This also allowed me an opportunity to practice my dance photography.
Another dad with DD in dance I see. I’ve been there, done that and doing it again next weekend. Dress rehearsals this past weekend. My photography is pretty bad but I am very amateur. The lighting is always tough.

It’s part of my weekend but right now I’m waiting for dad to come out of his cataract surgery
I hope it goes well. My dad is waiting to get his done.

Start the spoiling early!
I did see it on the other place, but belated congrats to you and the family.

Morning, Gents! Had a good day yesterday at a new location. Well, let's put it this way, I didn't screw anything up. At one point I was checking in a patient and discovered she's a nurse at the hospital. We got to talking and I told her that I was a temp and a float. Well, she asked me, "Do you want to be a unit secretary?" She said her unit is looking and that the position pays really well and the benefits are great. I asked her about the job and she said that I'd basically be doing what I'm doing now, though I'm sure that was an over simplification of the job, but it sounds interesting. I then asked her about the unit she works in, and this was her response, "The psych unit." "Hmmm, that's interesting." I said. "Will there be any contact with the patients?" I asked. Her response, "No, but you will have to deal with the families, and that can be interesting at times." She did tell me that it would be nice to have a guy working there, not sure if that was because they're getting tired of having all women working there, or that having a guy dealing with the families would be nice, but it sounds interesting. I'm almost at the 2 month mark and there's been no talk of bringing me on full-time, and I'm starting to get antsy. I've been through this before and so I'm not going to sit around forever waiting for them to make me an offer. If they don't make me an offer soon, I'm going to start looking/applying. Well, gents, I'm outta here. Got get some breakfast and wake the family. Have a good day.

TTFN

Hopefully it's one of the places that liked you and you liked and will bode well for future full time offer.

It was a new location, and one I've been wanting to go to, so it was nice that I had that opportunity. I think I did a good job while I was there, but it'll be a day or two before I get an email from my manager letting me know if I did anything wrong, but I don't think I'll get that email. Everything was smooth.

It’s part of my weekend but right now I’m waiting for dad to come out of his cataract surgery.

Everything go ok? Praying for a speedy recovery.

That's a lot.

Yep, a dance dad here, thought my DW goes most of the time as I'm at work when they leave for dance. I love dance photography, but I agree, the lighting can be a pain in the rear. I take production/publicity photos for local theater companies, or use to, it's been a while since anyone's called me, and the lighting there can be a pain as well. So what I wind up doing is using one of the program modes, usually Shutter Priority, or TV for Canon. That helps a lot as that's one thing I don't have to worry about. I'll change the ISO or shutter speed when I need to and the f-stop to the camera. Hope that helps.
