DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
I just picked up a Kimber stainless 1911 last week. First time shooting it on Sat. 45 was one of the few common calibers I didn't have so I splurged

Sorry about the DD loss, but glad it didn't count.

I thought cousin Norm was going to be parking an RV in my yard and emptying his black water tank in boots and a robe. My, how things change.

Huh? Pick up cracker barrel? As I typed that, maybe figured out what you meant...you mean a to go order from cracker barrel?

Mmmm brats. And yet, you didn't invite me.

Don't follow and congrats grandpa!!!

Hopefully it's one of the places that liked you and you liked and will bode well for future full time offer.

Oh, the camper would have been great. That was my plan for the next 10 years or so.

Afternoon Dads! Thanks for all the nice words over the weekend regarding the Little Princess we will be welcoming into the family this October. Both grandmas to be took DD out shopping yesterday, you know, now that they know it's a girl :scared1: The spoiling has begun ................DD loves Pooh so here was Grandpa's first official gift

Stay safe out there gents!

Do you just start sending Dan money directly for the newest releases?

Morning, Gents! Had a good day yesterday at a new location. Well, let's put it this way, I didn't screw anything up. At one point I was checking in a patient and discovered she's a nurse at the hospital. We got to talking and I told her that I was a temp and a float. Well, she asked me, "Do you want to be a unit secretary?" She said her unit is looking and that the position pays really well and the benefits are great. I asked her about the job and she said that I'd basically be doing what I'm doing now, though I'm sure that was an over simplification of the job, but it sounds interesting. I then asked her about the unit she works in, and this was her response, "The psych unit." "Hmmm, that's interesting." I said. "Will there be any contact with the patients?" I asked. Her response, "No, but you will have to deal with the families, and that can be interesting at times." She did tell me that it would be nice to have a guy working there, not sure if that was because they're getting tired of having all women working there, or that having a guy dealing with the families would be nice, but it sounds interesting. I'm almost at the 2 month mark and there's been no talk of bringing me on full-time, and I'm starting to get antsy. I've been through this before and so I'm not going to sit around forever waiting for them to make me an offer. If they don't make me an offer soon, I'm going to start looking/applying. Well, gents, I'm outta here. Got get some breakfast and wake the family. Have a good day.

It was a new location, and one I've been wanting to go to, so it was nice that I had that opportunity. I think I did a good job while I was there, but it'll be a day or two before I get an email from my manager letting me know if I did anything wrong, but I don't think I'll get that email. Everything was smooth.

Everything go ok? Praying for a speedy recovery.

2 day training course on new software? Boy, am I jealous.

That's a lot.

Yep, a dance dad here, thought my DW goes most of the time as I'm at work when they leave for dance. I love dance photography, but I agree, the lighting can be a pain in the rear. I take production/publicity photos for local theater companies, or use to, it's been a while since anyone's called me, and the lighting there can be a pain as well. So what I wind up doing is using one of the program modes, usually Shutter Priority, or TV for Canon. That helps a lot as that's one thing I don't have to worry about. I'll change the ISO or shutter speed when I need to and the f-stop to the camera. Hope that helps.

Take the unit job on psyc. Best floor to be on. If there is a medical issue, they transfer the patient to other floors.

Morning, Gents! Had a busy day in a neurology office yesterday, which was a new location for me. So far everything's going pretty good. Made a couple of mistakes, I've made more than a couple during my training and since, but these were mistakes that my manager found out about. They weren't huge life threatening mistakes, more procedural than anything, but big enough my manager found out. She reiterated that I'm doing an awesome job, so I took the email more as an FYI than anything. Still hated having to get that email, but we all make mistakes, and there, must learn from them. Well, gents, that's it. Have a good day and we'll chat later.

Morning gents

:thumbsup2

Always a plus

And nice when it happens like that.

"interesting"....

It was my understanding from this that the families can be difficult to work with at times. Emotions and all. So, it sounds interesting, but I'm going to have to look into it a bit more.

So far. Haven't called this morning yet, though.

Continued prayers for a speedy recovery.

It is, especially when I have a typo.
For the record it was 292mm not metres, we are still above water!
That’s 11.5 inches for you southern gentlemen.
But it’s still a lot.
Our normal is 3.5 inches. #TWSS 😕

Yeah, I kind of thought that that was a typo when I came up with 958 feet in the conversion.

For those not on “the other place”

Six years ago this is how I took DD to the bus stop. It will never get old.

May the Fourth be with you gents!

That's awesome.

Take the unit job on psyc. Best floor to be on. If there is a medical issue, they transfer the patient to other floors.

So it's a good floor to be on, huh? Could you elaborate a bit more on why it's the best floor to be on? Love to hear more. What's holding me back right now is that it's rotating days, weekends and holidays. I guess if I work a holiday I'd get paid a bit more, but I could be wrong.

Sounds like a wise decision.

Thanks!
He seems to be doing well so far. Bringing him in for a follow up this morning.
