DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Four consecutive nights of tennis. Feeling sore but good.

Paris has armed guards, just say'n...

And I don't want to go there either. The one in WDW doesn't.

And Rome, London, rural areas of Texas...

Don't want to go there either.

. The overlords like it when we bring in money so they can suck some off the top. This was capped at 10% so just enough to keep the department stocked in toilet paper for a year.

As a cost savings measure, you should budget no toilet paper and have three hour paid breaks to return home to poop. Think about all that water savings as well.

Congrats to DS. High school next? Or, sports school academy?

High School, there are no sport schools around here. We've been working on the government but this province isn't known to be the most open to new ideas.

Uh Oh. As a father of a former 8th Grader, I hope you explained to him the important thing about taking a girl to a dance. "Son, don't do anything to tick off her father!" Hope they have fun.

First question her mother asked him was : What are your intentions for my daughter?" :rotfl:

Here is shot of a proud Mom and Dad with the moving on to high school kid and our niece.

Evening, men. I am officially on vacation! I'll do some packing and prepping tomorrow and then off to Bethany Beach, DE Saturday morning. This is the annual relaxing trip. The other one is WDW. :-)

I haven't looked at the weather b\c I can't control it. I'll have my music, some beer and some puzzle books. That's all I need.

Beautiful pics of everyone's trips and family events.

@AirGoofy Norm -good to hear your back at tennis. I am looking forward to a lot more exercise now that summer is here and with the absence of kids' homework and extracurricular activities, it should be feasible.

Good Morning Disney Friends!

Today in Disney History:

1935:
Walt and Lillian Disney arrive in London, England at Paddington Station. Staying at Grosvenor House Hotel, they are on their honeymoon ... although they have been married for 10 years!

1973:
Disneyland Grad Nite '73 is held between 11pm-5am. For $9, guests get unlimited use of all rides and attractions.

Well Done! :thumbsup2

Morning Guys.

Welcome to Friday!

Going to be another busy weekend up here. We are off to watch two of the FIFA Women's World Cup matches tomorrow and Sunday DS has a game of his own. Then we get to rush back home so I can play in the evening.

Hope all of you starting out on your vacations get some good weather.

Yeah Friday. Trying to figure out a time to go see Jurassic World. Some movies just need to be viewed on the big screens.

Cool. Will he do Canada high schools sports programs? Or, do you all have something similar to AAU?

The beach sounds great. WDW can be relaxing as well, as long as you do it right. The ocean has something magical as well - the sounds, smells. DW wants to move to the Vero Beach area, which is about 1.5-2 hours south of WDW. I'm wondering if there is something closer and cheaper to live half way in between WDW and the nearest beach (Cocoa).

DW refuses to go see it. And I have a feeling just going by myself would be a good way to end up in the doghouse.

The local drive in has a double feature this weekend of Jurassic World and Pitch Perfect 2. I'm trying to get her to bite on that and she still doesn't seem interested.

He will play basketball and volleyball at high school. High school basketball pretty much takes over the competitive side of the sport here in grade 9. He has no plans to play soccer at high school, it would be a step down from what he is playing now.

There really isn't anything like AAU up here. Every sport does there own thing, although we do have the odd basketball team that get created to play some AAU tournaments in New England. That is usually done by people pissed off about something in the regular system.

There are some pretty good sport school systems in a few provinces but here the Dept of Ed has been receptive to the idea.
