DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning, Gents! Long time no talk! Man, I have lots of catching up to do on this thread, and I'll get to it in time. As for where I've been. Well, busy with work and home life. I'm supposed to be working in my new department here at work, but I'm still working on an E&O (Excess and Obsolete) project I started 2 weeks ago. I have over 600 lines worth over $215K of inventory that I'm tossing. Some of that scrapped inventory has made its way into my bag to take home. For instance, I took home over 63' of nylon strapping that was going to be tossed. Not sure what I do with it in the short term, but in the long term I'll use it for something. I've also taken home brackets, clamps, eye bolts, padded cases I'll use for my photography equipment and a bunch of other stuff. I love my job. Well, gotta run, but wanted to check in. Chat with ya later.

Good call, you may need all that when this thing starts the zombie apocalypse.

It's Friday and we are getting ready for quarantine hibernation. Wait, no. Kids are out of school for 3 weeks and everyone else needs to report for work. How is this social distancing thing working again?

Lots and lots and lots of TP.
Because as everyone knows, this virus makes you sh!t like an elephant with diarrhea.

That's tag fairy worthy. Too bad.

Morning guys. Starting to get Cabin Fever with this working from home. Have to wait until Disney officially announce they won't be open until I can get my points back. Trouble is, some of them were banked, so I'm hoping they will out them into next Use year. Otherwise I might have some points for rent budgie numbers.
I might start binge watching the Eagles "All or nothing", whilst, doing some work. Because no one is calling me in for quick meetings, I'm on top of everything, and have an empty email, so I'm finishing what I need to do at about 12. This is just weird.

Have a great day fellas.

Disney dispensed with their 30 days cancellation rule for holding points. I'm sure they will make an exception here.

Morning, gents.

I suppose everyone's heard by now, but just in case. Disneyland is closed. Disneyworld is closed as of Monday. Disney cruise departures are suspended.

It's official. I just read Disney's position re: WDW and I imagine DL is similar. Full refunds everywhere or tickets extended through the end of the year. APs extended for the length of time of the closure.

Not sure anyone anticipated this. Of course, assuming we survive, will they learn from it and prevent the next one?

Dear Walt Disney World,

Sorry to hear about your closure. Maybe while Animal Kingdom is closed you could fix that Dang Yeti!!!

Thank you,
A Fan

I do remember when it actually worked. You're messing with my nostalgia.

Great plan. Take home free stuff, store for years, move it around for years, throw it away 1 day before you decide to use it.

Good call, you may need all that when this thing starts the zombie apocalypse.

Maybe this is the precursor. I never did get around to buying more bullets. Or that ninja sword.

Oh, forgot to mention, the wife's getting around a lot better. She's now able to do stairs and will attempt to drive this weekend. Still a slow recovery, but make good strides one day at a time.

Glad to hear she is recovering.

School here closed for the next two weeks and all High School athletics cancelled until the middle of April. DD won't be happy as this is the first time in a couple of years they have enough for a girls softball team. Not sure why they are even bothering with the rest of the season. Athletes won't be in any condition to play for the last 45 days of the school year.

I picked up a virus so don't breathe to close to the screen. No fever and lungs are clear just been exhausted with killer sinus headache and muscle pain. The cat has enjoyed having someone to nap with for the last day though. Not a bad life if you can get it.

It's an introvert's dream come true.

Not sure if I'd want that for a tag!

You do??? Really! Didn't know anyone who'd seen it.

Wait. Did you pick up a virus or the virus?

Schools closed for two weeks, that means DW is off for another two. We should go to Disney...oh wait.

We should go on a cruise....oh wait

We should go to Europe....oh wait

I guess we could just sit here and drink.

Morning guys from a soggy London. Not much on today, bit of tennis, bit of cooking...ermmmm....er, yeah, that's pretty much the kit and caboodle. We might start watching the MCU from the beginning again. Trying to decide what to have for dinner.

but I'm still working on an E&O (Excess and Obsolete) project I started 2 weeks ago.
I have a few candidates at work that could fall into that pile. Let me know where to ship them. I'll even shrink wrap them for you.
Still a slow recovery, but make good strides one day at a time.
Good stuff. All the best to the Mrs CCT.
Disney dispensed with their 30 days cancellation rule for holding points. I'm sure they will make an exception here.
It looks like they are putting them back into your current use year and stripping the banked tag, which could work out, so I could shunt all 'em all over to '21 if I need to.

Universal is closing too, but their resorts and Riverwalk will remain open. If Disney is doing the same, I'm thinking Orlando might be a good vacation spot still, with no crowds...

Just starting the check in process. Need to make sure everyone is stocked up for the quarantine, do you have the necessary supplies? Beer, rum, scotch, bourbon, chicken wings, pizza, nachos...you know the essentials.

Don't forget the birth control...

Morning gents.
alive and (probably) virus free.

People forget that Florida was a tourist destination before there was Disney.

Before that, it was a swamp

That ship has sailed.

What I’m worried about is the internet. If that goes, we’ll have a whole generation of people who’ll be completely lost.
“How do you spell ‘virus’? I’ll google it... noooo!”

Happy Saturday. Went to go pick up my tennis racquets from being re-strung, and drove by the stores. Social distancing ain't being applied to Walmart or Meijer, the two closest stores. The parking lots looked like Christmas holiday shopping.

Yeah, I'm bummed for dd. She may be #1 in the region this year for tennis. She works year round, so she will be tennis ready - if there is a season.

Not sure if I'd want that for a tag!

Well, the tag fairy didn't ask. Yes, I saw the Yeti moving in 2000 on our Disneymoon.

There you go. If you decide to just give me a free trip to the Poly on your points, I'll gladly use them.

I've got tequila, bourbon, and chicken wings.

So they didn't use one of these?

I think those are standard issue for women on their wedding day.
