Something About Nothing............ #14

If all goes well with the flight I arrive on the 7th.
You will arrive the day before I leave.

On Wednesday I had just finished vacuuming and put it upright and it did not click in and it came crashing down on my right foot.

So I have an impressive hematoma that is spreading over the top of my right foot. Thankfully it does not appear to be broken.
Ouch! I hope your foot isn't broken and you heal quickly.

the kids then went out to the Amish area near where live, and bought back two large bags of fresh popcorn, cheese and caramel flavored. Let’s just say, no one was hungry for dinner, but all agreed to share some Chinese takeout.
That all sounds so good. I hope I get my sense of taste back soon.

I'm on day 4 of this Covid misery. Today my ears are stuffed up. I am concerned that I might have an ear infection. I am considering rope dropping the urgent care center tomorrow if I am not feeling any better.

Will someone please put me out of my misery? I took another test this morning and I'm still showing positive. I'm congested, I think my cough is returning, I still can't taste or smell, and I have an ear infection.
I'm also getting really bored being stuck inside for several days. Yesterday B and I had a Disney Princess marathon. We watched Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Tangled (all animated). I don't know what I am going to do today.
Sadly, I'm thinking about canceling my September trip since I am losing so much time at work.

Good Monday morning everyone

Happy very birthday to another Leo, your son, Robo. Good to hear from you.
Thank you Lynne.

Charade I hope you feel better soon.

Hopefully you can keep your September trip as a something to look forward to after dealing with covid.

Still a couple more days of severe heat here until we get a predicted break into the 80’s. We have leaves falling here already and it is in the 90’s.

I’am already decorating for Halloween……couldn’t help it…..I have my Pumpkin Tree up in the dining room already. I’am going to put my Witch Tree up in the kitchen today. I have a few other things to put out then I will be done. I do like to appreciate the decorations a little longer.

I have a few other things to do for upcoming trip in

days. I’am looking forward to this trip. I have to get the rental car yet. I’am glad I waited as the prices as have already fallen $125.00. Not sure if they will drop some more. Might give it a couple more days then make a decision. I always try and get a SUV if possible. It is just easier to deal with the luggage etc…..

I drive an SUV and find that it is just more comfortable. When I took my trip to EPIC in May I rented a car and it was like sitting on the ground driving…

I need to get over to Costco today and get some more of the organic frozen fruits I make our morning smoothies with. Will look around a little while I’am there as I need a new vacuum cleaner.

To Mac, Charade, Janet and all our Sans family that are ill or just missing from the Sans….I’am praying for you to get well soon and you are missed here.

Hey all, wanted to check in and give a shout out to our very own Mac who will be celebrating another trip around the sun tomorrow! Let the party begin!

Sending go away fast headache mummy dust out your way, pronto. Was sad to hear of that coal accident out your way.
Longest ever for me, 1-1/2 days. I hope to never have another like that, oy
Cow tipping, feeding the carp in the spill way, bow deer hunting in the Pymatuning Park, and rafting down the Monongahela River.
Lol have done the carp thing over the years, can’t say I’ve done any of the others. Pretty sure the Mon water would burn your skin off now as so polluted. We are in that no-man’s land equal distance between the “city” and the cow patches. We go there to buy our meat from a butcher and to the mom & pop restaurants in the boonies.

Yesterday, stretching my BD out lol oldest DS family took us out to eat. Check out this spread: salad, Italian bread basket, 15 oz prime rib, lobster tail, baked potato, carrots & side of pasta with red sauce. All for $25, would’ve been lucky to get a decent burger for that in the ‘burg.

Wanted to touch base on one of the workers who was killed in the coke works accident. He had been touched by his share of tragedy already, a shame.

Was @ Steelers training camp a week before the accident. A 70 yo woman had a heart attack and he did CPR on her, kept her alive until ambulance got to her.

His younger brother died @ age of 24 of cancer, job was cleaning out industrial piping at the plant.

Another brother was killed on construction job site for a Home Depot when a scissor life collapsed on him.

Father worked in same mill, passed from cancer at a very early age.

From all accounts, despite all the above, he was said to be a cheerful and pleasant man.

I have also lost taste and smell. I pray that this will be over by the end of the weekend.
Oh that sounds awful. Never had that happen the times I had covid. On paper it sounds like taking the time off work is a picnic, not when you are feeling so miserable. Sorry. Hope your trip still happens for you.
On Wednesday I had just finished vacuuming and put it upright and it did not click in and it came crashing down on my right foot.
I know exactly of what you are describing. Is it a Dyson? The only one I’ve owned that gives me repeated issues re this.
I can’t count the stress fractures, fractured toes and Plantar Fasciitis episodes I have had in my feet. I chalk it up to crap happening as we age. Never fails things happen before vacation.
I’m in the same camp. I blame mine of being an absolute Klutz as I started beating up my feet in my 20’s lol.

I still silently thank the PT tech who taught me how to tape my one “bad” foot with KT tape to hold up the arch and support the Achilles tendon every time I do it before a park day.

Reminds me, I need to step out and get some steps in to prepare for the trip. I’ve been a slug since coming back from last one as it’s been so hot, humid, rainy
I did have son and family over to celebrate his Birthday Wednesday evening. I can’t believe my baby turned 48
I know, how does that happen? Seems as tho time goes into light speed as one ages. A very happy BD to him!
He wanted lasagne
I invited my oldest down for dinner his choice when the girls were doing MNSSHP last weekend. He asked for chicken parm. Didn’t expect that request. Haven’t made it in years.
I am concerned that I might have an ear infection. I am considering rope dropping the urgent care center tomorrow if I am not feeling any better.
Sorry to hear you are getting all sorts of bonus crud this time. You must have a very virulent strain. Be careful, don’t worry about work, they will manage. your health comes first!

Now that’s a cheap and very good tasting looking spread, there, Keisha. Nothing wrong with a long birthday celebration time. 8 days between little one and my birthdays, so we’ll be celebrating for two weeks. :dancer:

Yay! Little one will be enjoying her birthday night at MK, partying with that Halloween spirit in August. At least our HHN night will be in September. And we’ll be back, to do another MK party three days before Halloween. Woot! Fall fun times coming up soon.

Ah, DH always tells me to be safe, as when driving in that predawn, mostly dark commute time. Yeah, %%#^# dear, as I saw in the corner of my eyes, so came to a full stop, to see those deer once again crossing the road. But had to do a little smile, quite a few young in that little group crossing in front of me. But as long as they kept going across, I took off again. And, older one had this shooting zombie video game, that said double points so many times, when he was shooting. Guy, crossing the street in front of me, against the light that I had green, was walking so darn slow, all I could think of hitting him, double points. But I patiently waited till he was well past where I was driving, and took off again, before the light did change. So yep, backed into my favorite parking spot, and thought safe drive I had, indeed.

Decided enough of this long week day routine, so decided, a long three day weekend, taking this Friday off, before a much shorter week day routine next week, due to fun ending it. Woot! So ready for that break. Though when I get back, longer commute in the afternoon, as will deal with that soon, as next week the city kids go back to school. At least I only have to deal with it half the week next week.

And, ready to refill my tea cup. It’s that day of the week we say, maybe a taco will go good with it. Yay, at Taco Tuesday this week, you know, the day of the week to enjoy that easy to munch on, taco 🌮 today, and visit Taco Bell or your favorite taco place. Since older one and I had Taco Bell the other day, I assume a Taco Bell run, will not be on our menu for dinner today. Especially since little one is absolutely no fan of Taco Bell. I’m thinking maybe stir fry. When I get home, have to see if any chicken left or beef left in the fridge, or it will be vege only. Last night, both kids didn’t eat lunch until mid afternoon, as they kindly let the repair guy in. At least they said he was fast. As such, no one felt like dinner, so by 7:30 pm, I was like hey, I had lunch around noon, I’m hungry. Hence, did find some chicken, and made fried chicken and mashed potatoes, and steamed the broccoli. Little one, a mashed tater fan, ate mostly that, instead of the chicken or broccoli. No matter, DH finished up any that was not eaten. Hence, DH is my food vacuum. We rarely ever have leftovers at home.

And a hehe, I’ve known my friend since we both were 5 years old. She lived down the street and was in most of my classes at school from K to 12. She turns a year older the day before I do. She sent me a birthday card, and in it, she asked if I had any grandkids yet. Um, both my kids are on that someday plan, and still living with us, so my chances of grandkids are not any time soon, I think. Not that she has any either, as sadly, couldn’t have kids. Though, she’s a teacher, so many kids she had. Was very sad for her though, as she lost her DH to cancer two months ago, and lost her widowed father in the spring. Tough year for her, so also sent her a card, with good thoughts. Neither of us moved that far away, with me, very close as compared to her.

Okay, really need that tea refill now.

Most Terrific Taco Tuesday today, as hoping Charade is feeling a better today, and today, a day early, a very happy birthday wish to Mac.

Good Tuesday morning everyone

The price of my hotel room dropped again. Maybe that's a sign.
Great news on you hotel price dropping.

Wow…..that is a lot of quality food for $25.00…..nothing wrong with celebrating as long as you can.

Wanted to touch base on one of the workers who was killed in the coke works accident. He had been touched by his share of tragedy already, a shame.
So sad when you hear heartbreaking news about good people.

I know exactly of what you are describing. Is it a Dyson? The only one I’ve owned that gives me repeated issues re this.
No it is a Hoover. It has been a really good upright vacumm.

Reminds me, I need to step out and get some steps in to prepare for the trip. I’ve been a slug since coming back from last one as it’s been so hot, humid, rainy
I keep saying I need to start preparing for the intense march coming up for HHN.

I know, how does that happen? Seems as tho time goes into light speed as one ages. A very happy BD to him!
Thank you Janet.

Sounds like a nice vacation of celebrating.

Up early this morning and a quick trip to Walmart. Just needed to pick up a few things.

Have been decorating for Halloween. Will share a few picks when I’am done.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone.
