That came across harsh. Sorry, you have to move at the speed of my brain or lack there of. I don't think we could have done anything to prepare in our current paradigm. In my state, the person who tested positive for corona virus traveled thru the airport (in Louisville) three times in the same week. Two others on a cruise ship, who didn't test positive, were quarantined on a cruise ship. Our response is based on our dependence on other countries in the supply chain.

Evening boys from a busy London. Our work sent out the decree that all "Global" staff must work from home until further notice. I'm not allowed to see my boss, as apparently one of us has to be alive to run the department. No travel across borders until April 6 and after that only expressly approved by a VP.

Fun times.

I might be on here a bit more over the next few weeks now my globetrotting wings have been clipped.

We are just hoping LAX doesn't shut down, we fly in 3 and a half weeks.

Morning chaps from a sunny London. Got a directive this morning that I'm not allowed within 3 ft of another work colleague. I emailed my boss to tell him "Thursday afternoon Spooning time" is cancelled forthwith. To say he is disappointed is an understatement.

The Irish have just shut all schools. We have proper crossed the Rubicon. I really am not trying to minimise it, but it's not the plague.

Done. Cruise canceled.

For now. I need to check as I was in France and Germany in the last 2 weeks, but that would 6 weeks out of travel.
We got an email this morning from BA, that they will honour the booking for another time if we have to change, or give us a voucher. I'm sure Disney will be fine on my points going back in, and I always book hotels direct with the 24 hour cancellation policy (as we often call an audible while we are out there on somewhere else we would like to go) so the only thing I'm in for at the minute if the Prez does change his mind are the Dodgers tickets. Plus the fact I'd have to go to work.

Well, I spoke too soon. Delaware got its first case of the virus yesterday. I guess the wall didn't work. Anyway, I'm now being asked to submit a form for VPN access in case they start closing the offices. It's only a matter of time until my kids' schools are closed, I'm guessing.

Olympic Flame for Tokyo was lit this morning so there is hope.

We had a great time on the cruise. Spent lots of time hanging out in the Red Frog Pub and in the Piano Bar. If you can play any Led Zeppelin besides Stairway to Heaven you may want to talk to Randall; he has some requests.

Not that anyone would want to visit us, but KY will soon be officially closed. The Governor gave a speech and told people not to go to Church this weekend. Most all universities are doing online classes for some time period. There are secret meetings to close all government offices and K-12 schools within a few weeks, once more of the virus has been able to spread.



It all may sound great until we think. Our nursing homes are closed to the public. So, no family members can visit their loved ones. However, the staff are still permitted to return home after each shift, interact with their children bringing home viruses from school, shopping at Wal-mart with sick people fighting for toilet paper, and then return to spread those diseases at the nursing home the next day.

Similar to here. Staff in care and nursing homes are allowed to work even if they have been out of the country (with the exception of 9 countries) but DW can't go teach for 14 days. Crazy times!

Here in Sacramento County, our county Department of Public Health went from a containment approach with 14-day quarantines to "F-it" since quarantines aren't stopping the spread. Now the deal is to do your every day normal activities until you're sick, then you stay home. And if you're effectively treating your conditions with over-the-counter medicines, then continue to stay at home, even if it is the coronavirus.

About half the people here are cool with it because the odds of serious injury from the virus are exceptionally low for most people. The other half are completely losing their minds.
